Chapter 10 - chapter 10

New Visitor: The Terrified Traveler

Agung watched the glowing portal door flicker and fade back into the mundane appearance of a storage closet. He exhaled slowly, the high-stakes counseling session with Naruto leaving him emotionally drained. He knew the seeds of doubt and self-discovery had been planted, thanks in no small part to the forced mental conversation with Kurama.

He was just about to start wiping down the tables—Service Tally: 1—when the ethereal, otherworldly glow flared up again.

The door burst open, and a new figure stumbled into the warm, scented sanctuary of the Overworld Restaurant.

This visitor was a young woman, perhaps sixteen or seventeen, dressed in clothing that suggested a mix of formal wear and battle gear—a black skirt and a white blouse, but with highly specialized, almost militaristic shoulder pads and dark tights.

She was petite, with long, striking dark hair and large, fearful eyes. Her face was pale, streaked with tears and grime. She was trembling violently, clutching her arms to her chest as if trying to physically hold herself together.

She looked utterly and completely lost.

Agung's otaku instincts immediately kicked in, overriding his exhaustion. He looked at the girl, instantly scanning the massive, cross-indexed database of fictional characters stored in his mind. The outfit, the distress, the specific aura of a world defined by combat and high-tech gear...

Memory Access: Identifying the Guest

Agung instantly recognized the visitor. A wave of profound sympathy washed over him, recognizing not just the character, but the harrowing narrative she came from.

Agung softened his expression, moving slowly and deliberately, taking care not to startle her. He knew this young woman had faced existential dread, constant danger, and immense emotional isolation. She needed comfort and truth, perhaps even more than Naruto did.

"Welcome, traveler," Agung said gently, projecting calm and safety. "Please, come inside. You are safe here. What is your name, and what can I cook for you?"
