The Buzz Over Sodom
The city of Sodom shimmered beneath a crimson dusk, its towers gleaming with artificial light and blind devotion. The people below adored the system. They obeyed without question. Whatever Light or his high officials decreed, they followed eager, hollow, devout.
Above it all, a buzzing hum echoed through the sky.
Lord of Flies hovered silently, his wings vibrating with a frequency that unsettled the air. He was the third prince of darkness, stoic and unwavering. When he spoke, his words were law. His loyalty to Lucifer was absolute.
He watched the city with disdain. Obedience without thought, he mused. A kingdom of cattle.
Then the rooftop door creaked open.
A figure emerged massive, armored, radiating aggression.
Lord of Violence.
"Welcome to Sodom, Lord," Lord of Flies said, descending slowly.
"Yes, yes," Violence grunted. "I'm here. What do you want?"
"Let's get straight to it," Flies replied, voice like stone. "You will not be given the continent of the south."
Violence blinked. Then his face twisted.
"What do you mean by that, fly?"
"It's not a riddle," Flies said. "Or has all your power gone to your muscles and not your mind?"
Violence roared and lunged, but Flies darted upward, effortlessly evading the strike.
"Come down here, coward! Face me, you bug!"
Flies chuckled, hovering just out of reach.
"This decree comes from Lucifer himself."
Violence froze. His rage simmered.
"Why?"
"I do not know," Flies said. "Only that Lucifer wants the south for himself."
Violence clenched his fists. "And if I refuse?"
Flies tilted his head. "Then you've forgotten about Azazel."
Violence muttered, "That no-good hiding bastard wouldn't dare say it to my face."
"Your threats mean nothing to me," Flies said. "Save them for your mistress. Or your mirror."
Violence growled. "So my legion is denied the treasures of this world?"
"Not denied. Reassigned. Lucifer offers you east."
Violence blinked. "east? That's Lord of Sloths' territory."
"Don't worry about the other lords," Flies said. "Let me handle them."
He hovered higher, wings buzzing louder.
"With that said, Lord… I bid you a great day."
And with a final hum, Lord of Flies vanished into the sky.
