"Beautiful, aren't they?" Marcus said to three people who walked over to his side.
"That is one way to put it," Cornelia responded as she looked at them.
"You didn't call me to show off, haven't you?" She asked with a raised eyebrow.
"Not my intention. I am using them as inspiration." He clarified, making her hum. Eventually, she looked at him.
"Let's talk Lelouch. We need to clarify things."
He nodded and motioned for her to follow him.
"You two, at ease. I need to have this conversation with him." She motioned for her Knight and Commanding Officer to relax.
"Yes, Princess."
Marcus looked at them for a second. Feeling that they are going to get bored.
"How about this…" The Inventor Prince made a motion, and a pair of holograms appeared in front of him. He then made a motion and sent them to his sister's followers.
"While you wait, you can familiarise yourself with the technology I develop here."
"...There is no need, Prince Lelouch."
"It's fine. I do have this feeling we will be fighting on the same side in the future." Marcus smirked for a second.
"Don't have your hopes up. Lelouch, I won't be bought over that easily." The Princess frowned at him.
"We shall see." He smiled back at her frown.
The pair went into a room.
"Hmm?"
A lazy-looking green-haired girl perked up. She was eating a pizza.
"This." Marcus motioned towards the green-haired girl. "This is the girl that I rescued from Clovis."
The 2nd Princess looked at the girl with trembling eyes! It was that girl that she saw getting tortured and killed!
But here she was!
"...Lelouch, what did you bring this time?" C.C. looked at the Princess for a bit.
"..." C.C. realised that she saw her somewhere.
"...You are that immortal girl," Cornelia stated.
"I am, what of it?" The witch replied. She ended up lying on the couch, her legs going up, and she started moving them.
"...What is our father, the Emperor, planning with the supernatural?" Cornelia asked, almost demanded to know.
"...Hmm… Why should I tell you that?" C.C. nonchalantly asked in turn.
She then looked at Marcus for a second.
"How about this?" Her behaviour suddenly changed, as she got energetic.
"The promise you made to me, you shall keep it. In turn, I shall tell you about what your father is doing, AND I shall give you a Geass." She showed him a grin. This grin was strange; it was like she was baiting him.
"...Geass? What is she talking about?" Cornelia looked at Marcus.
"I have something called Code. It allows me to give people Geass. Like, for example, Marianne, I was the one who gave her such power."
"...Y-You know about Marianne? H-How did she die!?"
C.C. didn't say a thing. She looked at Lelouch, who was looking back at her.
"I will tell, but you have to keep the promise that you made when you rescued me, Lelouch. Or you are chickening out?" She asked, with a cat-like grin on her lips.
"You are the first woman who wants a transaction like this…" He was shocked by her actions…
"What kind of promise did you make?" Cornelia asked, feeling a bit nervous. This was supernatural stuff, something about which she had no confidence.
"He said that I was his. In other words, he claimed me as his woman. Yet, now he is chickening out." C.C. borderline mocked him for not taking responsibility.
"You truly are a strange woman."
"That's coming from you. I am hoping that you would keep it. Live long enough to be more than a flash in my life." She clarified to him.
Cornelia looked at Marcus for a bit. He has interesting taste in women.
"Do it. Lelouch, we need to know." The 2nd Princess replied for him.
"I will, but you will give Geass to others."
C.C.'s eyes narrowed.
"Why?"
"Well… everyone should be useful in what I am building.
So far, everyone has a role to play." He explained to her.
"And you can be one of the most useful of them all." Marcus ended up smiling at her while saying that.
"...Hah…Flattery won't work…" She crossed her arms, but there was a small blush on her cheeks.
"But you have a point. However, I will be the one to decide if I want to give that person a Geass." C.C. ultimately agreed to the conditions.
"Fine by me." He agreed to her terms.
"...Now that this is out of the—" Before Cornelia could finish her sentence, C.C. ended up lunging at Marcus and then kissing him on the lips.
Her actions surprised the Royals as the next moment, the witch's forehead glowed.
And Inventor Prince began to see things… pyramids, people with red tattoos, all sorts of strange things.
Once the kiss ended, the witch pulled back and looked at him with a smug look.
"Unlike others, I can give something incredibly powerful."
As she commented that she saw his right eye glow red, his pupil turned into a symbol of a bird.
"Tell me…what kind of Geass did you awaken?"
The green-haired girl asked, very curious about what kind of power he had!
Instead of saying anything, he looked around. He saw…things…
He saw Cornelia's afterimages, like what kind of path she would take; it was like an order of sequences, like a window to the future… and maybe even the past itself? They were fluid, not stationary!
The Inventor Prince saw her mouth move, as if she were talking to him.
"...You are going to ask what is going on."
"What is going—"
"Hmm…"
"You can predict her actions? Interesting…" C.C. looked at him curiously.
"No, it's more than that. It's like an order of sequences. It's not just my sister, but even items around me."
The more he looked like that, the more his head hurt.
In the end, he closed his eyes and covered them with his hand.
"...What is going on!" Cornelia couldn't take it anymore! Someone explain!
"I gave him the same power the Emperor has."
"...Father has it?" The Princess asked with a surprised look.
"He has. But it wasn't me who gave him this power." C.C. began to explain as she looked from Lelouch to Cornelia.
"It was you two, uncle."
"...Uncle? We have one?" She exclaimed in a small surprise. By this point, her sense of surprise is getting duller by the minute.
"He has the other code and gave Charles his Geass. Your Father's Geass is very potent; he has had it for many years and was able to master it to a frightening level."
The girl explained to the two royals.
"...What can he do?" Cornelia asked her. She was nervous.
"Charles has power… absolute power over memories; all he needs is to look at your eyes, and he turns one into a complete stranger. Make one believe that he is someone else or simply turn into an adult-sized toddler.
He used this power to solidify his rule and reign unopposed for many years."
Marcus already knew this, but Cornelia's whole being trembled.
What she was hearing made her feel a sense of dread.
"...Can I gain this Geass?" She asked. By this point, she subconsciously decided that her Father was a bad guy who needed to be stopped. For that, she needs power!
"I…could give you Princess, but…" C.C. looked at Marcus, who was testing his powers and trying to figure out the kinks of it.
"...You want me to join his cause?" Cornelia asked with narrowed eyes.
The witch showed her a small smile.
"You are catching up quickly. My powers are his." She shrugged similarly to how Marcus was doing, making Cornelia feel that this was intentional.
"In that case." The 2nd Princess looked at Marcus, who was ignoring both of them, testing his Geass on items around him.
"Let's talk, Lelouch."
"Hmm? Oh, right." He closed his right eye and looked at her.
"It would seem you can't turn it off." C.C. noticed him struggling in that regard.
"I will figure it out eventually." He shrugged it off before looking at his sister.
"If you want me to join you, I need to know what I am getting myself into.
I am a general of my army. My men depend on me. I won't sacrifice them for an unknown." His older sister explained honestly.
"I understand." He nodded before looking at C.C.
"Tell us what father's goals are."
"..."
Cornelia looked at her as well. It was time to learn what their father was doing.
"..."
For a couple of moments, there was silence, but then she sighed and decided to explain.
"He wants to kill God."
"!!!"
"It's what you think. Cornelia." She immediately continued to explain more. " It's the collective unconsciousness of all Mankind.
When someone dies, his mind goes to this Collective Consciousness."
"In other words, he is planning to destroy the afterlife, disrupting the living and dead cycle." Marcus interrupted, and his explanation made C.C. nod at him.
"As expected, you catch on very quickly."
"...Is he mad? It would end the world as we know it!" Cornelia looked horrified to hear that!
"You could say that. All the conquest you've been doing is related to this." The witch dropped a bomb that made Cornelia feel like shit!
She was working towards ending the goddamn world!
"...More reason for you to join me, Cornelia. Only I have the technology to oppose what our 'esteemed' father is doing."
The 2nd Princess looked at him for a second.
'He is right… even one of those things can stop armies.'
Internally, she agreed, but she still has her reservations.
"You need to tell me what your true goal is." The Princess looked at him with narrowed eyes.
"To unite the world under me and then start the space age. Colonise worlds and bring a new era."
"..."
Her eyes looked at him, watching from top to bottom. Her instincts are telling her that he was genuine in his desire.
"...Hmm… I believe you." She slowly nodded.
"But what will I get for helping you?" She asked with a raised eyebrow.
"Well, whatever you want. You are a very good fighter, so I will personally develop a machine just for you.
Then you can lead armies if you want. In the end, you could have one or two planets if you want." He shrugged, giving her some ideas.
"...I see… if you are giving me this many choices, then I suppose." Several expressions went through her face.
She wants one of those machines and space battles? Those are intriguing. Most importantly… she doesn't want their father to end the world as she knows it!
'Ridiculous! Destroying the concept of alive or dead! How could he! He is insane!'
After a few moments, she slowly came to a decision.
"I will join you. Though keep in mind that on the battlefield, I will lead the charge."
Marcus chuckled.
"Battlefields are your forte, my dear sister. So do what you need. All I will do is bring bigger and bigger weapons for you to test out." He joked, making her thinly smile at him.
"In that case." The 2nd Princess looked at C.C., who observed the interaction.
"I am part of Lelouch's faction." She said to the witch.
"Fine, you get one as well." The green-haired witch put her hand on Cornelia, and the witch's forehead glowed with red light.
Cornelia's left eye glowed as it turned into a bird symbol.
For a second, she stood in place.
"..."
"..."
Marcus and C.C. looked at the princess, who stood still.
"Well?"
"I saw…something… and…" She looked at her hands.
"...This is Geass?"
"What did you develop?" The Witch asked curiously.
"...I have no idea…"
"I think she developed a battle-related Geass." Marcus immediately concluded.
"...Yes… You are right." Cornelia replied, her gut feeling told her that!
"..Hmm, is that so?" C.C. already had an idea when she saw the Princess be so certain about her power.
"It could be a gut feeling."
