Sanemi nuzzles into Giyuu's hair, his harsh exterior melting slightly in the privacy of his bedroom.
"I still can't believe I'm dating this stoic bastard... but he's mine."
He thinks possessively, pressing a surprisingly gentle kiss to Giyuu's shoulder before closing his eyes to sleep. The next morning, Giyuu wakes up to find himself still wrapped in Sanemi's arms, the math teacher's face looking unusually peaceful in sleep.
"Mmm... five more minutes..."
*Sanemi mumbles groggily, pulling Giyuu closer when he tries to move. Sanemi cracks one eye open, his voice still rough from sleep.
"Where do you think you're going? It's Saturday, idiot."
He tightens his grip even more, refusing to let Giyuu escape the bed just yet. Giyuu struggles slightly, trying to sit up but failing against Sanemi's strength.
"Stop squirming. You're warm and I'm tired."
He growls, pressing his face into Giyuu's back with a mix of annoyance and reluctant affection.
"I need to use the bathroom, Sanemi."
His voice is still soft and hoarse from sleep, and he tries to sound reasonable despite Sanemi's possessive hold.
"Tch... fine. But hurry up."
He reluctantly loosens his grip, though his eyes follow Giyuu's movements with obvious reluctance to let him leave the bed. As soon as Giyuu gets up, Sanemi rolls over and buries his face in the pillow Giyuu just vacated, inhaling deeply.
"Your scent's all over the bed now..."
He mutters to himself, sounding oddly pleased despite his earlier grumpiness. Sanemi smirks against the pillow, remembering they live together. He stretches lazily, knowing Giyuu will come back eventually.
"This is better than my old apartment anyway."
He glances around their shared bedroom, noting how much more comfortable it feels than his previous place. The sound of Giyuu washing his hands can be heard from the bathroom, and Sanemi sits up in bed, running a hand through his messy white hair.
"Oi Giyuu! Bring me some water while you're up!"
He calls out with a commanding tone, not bothering to get up himself. Giyuu returns with a glass of water, rolling his eyes slightly at Sanemi's bossy demand.
"Thanks... now come back to bed."
He pats the spot next to him expectantly, looking up at Giyuu with an almost childish expression of wanting. Sanemi watches Giyuu tidy up with growing irritation, his good mood fading.
"What the hell are you doing? I said come back here!"
He snaps, throwing a pillow at Giyuu's head. "Do you want that the kids see the mess?"Sanemi catches the pillow Giyuu threw back at him, his eyes narrowing dangerously.
"Don't change the subject. I want you here now, not cleaning."
He stands up, stalking toward Giyuu with a predatory look. Sanemi grabs Giyuu's wrist, pulling him away from the cleaning supplies. "You're mine, not some housekeeper. Let the mess wait."
He yanks Giyuu closer, his grip firm but not painful.
...
A few months later the days got shorter and the autumn is coming over the city. The leaves outside have started to change colors, and the air is cooler now. Giyuu and Sanemi's relationship has settled into a routine.
"It's getting colder. I need to start wearing more layers to work."
He complains while buttoning up his shirt in the morning, eyeing Giyuu who seems unfazed by the temperature drop. The kids are sitting at the breakfast table, Tanjiro helping Nezuko with her school lunch while Muichiro quietly eats his breakfast.
"Giyuu-san, do you think it will rain today?"
He asks politely, always considerate of the weather for his younger siblings. Giyuu nods, glancing out the window at the gray clouds gathering.
"It looks likely. Take an umbrella with you."
Muichiro speaks up from his seat, looking bored.
"Sanemi-san will probably get soaked on his way to school."
Sanemi shoots Muichiro a glare, not appreciating the comment.
"Shut it, brat. I'm not that careless."
He grumbles, though he secretly grabs an extra umbrella from the stand. Nezuko giggles at the interaction, while Tanjiro tries to hide his smile. Genya walks into the kitchen, still half asleep.
"Morning... everyone..."
He yawns widely, his hair messy from sleep. Giyuu pours Genya a cup of coffee, knowing he needs it to function properly.
"You look like a zombie. Did you stay up gaming again?"
He teases his brother, ruffling Genya's hair affectionately despite his harsh tone. Genya swats Sanemi's hand away, taking the coffee with a grateful nod to Giyuu.
"Yeah... was trying to beat my high score."
He admits sheepishly, taking a big gulp of the hot drink. Sanemi rolls his eyes at the gaming addiction.
"Idiot. You're gonna fail your classes at this rate."
He lectures while checking his phone, probably checking the weather again. Muichiro looks at Genya with mild interest.
"What game?"
He asks, the first sign of engagement from the usually aloof boy. Genya perks up at the question, his tiredness momentarily forgotten.
"This new horror game called The Mimic. It's super scary but awesome."
He starts describing it excitedly, completely ignoring Sanemi's disapproving look. Muichiro nods at Genya's description, a small smile forming on his usually expressionless face.
"Inosuke would love that game too."
He comments casually, while Sanemi's eye twitches at the mention of Inosuke. Genya blushes slightly at the mention of his boyfriend.
"That wild boar better not be a bad influence on you."
He warns, crossing his arms with a scowl. Muichiro leans against Genya, sticking his tongue out at Sanemi.
"Inosuke is great. Better than you."
His tone is playful yet challenging, knowing it will rile Sanemi up further. Sanemi's face turns red with anger, his temper flaring instantly.
"You little-"
Giyuu steps between them before Sanemi can explode, giving him a stern look.
"Enough. We're going to be late."
The kids quickly finish their breakfast, sensing the tension.
"We should get going!"
He grabs his backpack, trying to diffuse the situation as he ushers his siblings toward the door. Sanemi huffs and grabs his things, still glaring at Muichiro.
"Watch your mouth, brat. I'm still your teacher."
He mutters under his breath as he follows the others outside. Giyuu sighs and locks the door behind them, walking beside Sanemi.
"You need to control your temper."
He says quietly, knowing it's a losing battle but worth trying anyway. Sanemi grumbles but doesn't argue, knowing Giyuu is right. "That kid is impossible sometimes... just like you."
He bumps his shoulder against Giyuu's playfully, though his expression remains grumpy. Nezuko jumps into a large puddle, splashing water everywhere and giggling uncontrollably.
"Oi, Nezuko! Don't make a mess!"
He shouts, but there's a hint of amusement in his voice despite his stern tone. Tanjiro tries to pull his sister away from the puddle.
"Nezuko, your uniform will get dirty!"
Nezuko pouts and clings to Giyuu's leg, looking up at him with big innocent eyes. Giyuu looks down at Nezuko, then at Sanemi with a slight smirk.
"She takes after you, Sanemi."
He pats Nezuko's head while referring to her mischievous nature. Sanemi scoffs and ruffles Nezuko's hair.
"At least she's cute. Unlike someone I know."
He gives Giyuu a pointed look, clearly referring to his stoic demeanor. Giyuu maintains his blank expression, but there's a hint of amusement in his eyes.
"I don't see you complaining about my looks."
He retorts, causing Muichiro to snicker quietly behind them. Sanemi's face turns red again, this time from embarrassment rather than anger.
"Shut up! I wasn't- I didn't mean-"
He stammers, caught off guard by Giyuu's boldness. The other kids are watching with interest now. Suddenly Genya starts running and Muichiro runs ahead, laughing as Genya chases after him. Both boys dodging around other students.
"Those two are going to get in trouble again."
He shakes his head, used to their playful antics. Sanemi watches the chase with a mix of exasperation and fondness.
"If they knock someone over, I'm not covering for them."
He warns, though he knows he probably will if it comes to that. Muichiro run into Zenitsu, Tanjiro's boyfriend.
