Evelin's POV
I slapped my hand over my mouth and bolted toward the bathroom without saying a word.
Adeline stood there awkwardly in the middle of her apology, her cheeks burning red with embarrassment.
I could practically see Adeline seething, her expression making it clear she thought I was doing this on purpose to humiliate her.
I rushed into the bathroom and practically emptied my entire stomach. When I finally emerged from the stall, I felt completely drained, like there was nothing left inside me.
'Did I eat something off?' I wondered, staring at my ghostly pale reflection in the mirror.
I was usually healthy as a horse and rarely fell ill like this.
I hadn't felt any nausea earlier, but the moment that cocktail of sweat and perfume from Adeline hit me, my stomach instantly revolted.
I'd never been this reactive to scents before, not enough to make me this violently sick. 'Hold up... could this be...?'
The thought sent ice through my veins.
