The Kingdom of Alvonia is blessed by four spirits; the spirit of the wind, the spirit of water, the spirit of the earth and the spirit of fire and all these blessings come with a level of attunement.
A high level of attunement to the wind can cause storms, hurricanes, create weapons and fly.
A mid level of attunement to the wind can levitate themselves and objects and mini tornadoes.
A low level of attunement to the wind can create a small gust of wind and outrun any beast.
A high level of attunement to water can turn water to ice, conjure up a tsunami, make weaponry and make duplicates of themselves.
A mid level of attunement to water can form mirages, summon rain and manipulate water in any vessel.
A low level of attunement to water can create mist and manipulate water in small containers.
A high level to the spirit of the earth grants you a high defensive skin, the ability to sprout anything from the ground and the ability to find anything that walks on the earth.
A mid level of attunement to the earth grants a defensive skin that is like tempered glass compared to those with high attunement. They can also grow small plants and find people within a four meter radius.
A low level of attunement to the earth grants you a defensive skin to any part of your choosing.
A high level of attunement to the spirit of fire grants you the ability to meld precious metals and ores, animate any machine and attribute all three blessings on a weapon.
A medium level of attunement to the spirit of fire can meld precious metals but take more time to refine it. They can animate small structures with the help of an ore and can not attribute a blessing to a weapon.
Lastly, a low attunement to the spirit of fire could build basic equipment or trinkets but not weapons. They don't have the ability to refine nor do they have the strength to meld precious metals or ores.
Present time
Princess Marina presented her mom a frozen willow tree and the room stilled.
Clearing his throat the King asked "How long did it take you to refine an ore?"
"Two days." Princess Marina said with a tired sigh.
"With no one teaching you?" The King asked.
"I read some books from the academy in my spare time." Princess Marina said sheepishly.
"Amazing." The King said and the audience began to whisper.
"Two days?" Someone in the audience gasped.
"She is only nine!" Another person whispered.
"How did she understand the material?" Another person whispered.
"All three of my children are amazing." The King said and the Queen nodded with pride.
Clearing his throat once more, the King said "While I am jealous that you prepared a gift for your mom,"
"It doesn't matter because your first coming of age dance is with me." The King said and both the Queen and the audience laughed.
Coming down from his throne and going to the center of the ballroom, the King grabbed Princess Marina's hand and the minstrels began to play the song for the pair dance between the King and Princess Marina.
"Do you know the significance of the coming of age ball?" The King asked as he twirled Princess Marina.
"To present me to society." Princess Marina said as her dad knelt and she moved around him in a circle.
"For the first eight years of your life you have been confined to this castle in order to learn about the inner workings of Alvonia. From history, to etiquette, to how to carry yourself, you learned them all under your teachers." The King said as he and Princess Marina danced in circles around the ball room.
"But with this coming of age ball, you will finally be allowed to experience the world outside of the castle walls." The King said as he twirled Princess Marina in the air.
"I can finally approve your request for sword training." The King said and Princess Marina grinned.
"And-" The King said but Princess Marina completed his sentence by saying "And I can buy all the ores that I want." Princess Marina said with a Cheshire grin.
"With the guards accompanying you of course." the King said with a cunning smile.
"Happy birthday my darling angel." said the King and with one final twirl, the pair dance between the King and Princess Marina came to an end.
