"Mei, what are you doing? Go get changed and take a shower. That water is filthy be careful or you'll get an infection."
The penguin stood at attention like a soldier. "Yes, sir!"
Then Mei waddled into the bathroom, her slippers squeaking against the tile floor.
There were a few hooks on the bathroom wall. Mei hung her raincoat there, washed her legs from the calves down first, then went out to grab a change of clothes. She saw Otis sitting on a chair, so she walked toward him.
"Do you want to shower first?"
Otis turned to look at her. "It's fine, you go first."
But when he lifted his head, he saw Mei's soaked shirt and her short hair dripping with rainwater.
Even with a raincoat, the rain had been too heavy. The wind blew water from every direction, sending it down her collar. Otis's clothes were also a little wet; the raincoat helped, but not much. The most useful thing had been the plastic sandals.
