(Mael's POV)
"Let's get you a bit dried off." I said as I had my hands over the small fire
I had started a quick campfire, a bit further away, where I found Cecilia. She was still shaken up so I had to make sure she was safe and a bit calmer.
"A System...." She said softly, "How.....how lucky....."
I nodded, "Yea...."
"Is that why you're not blind anymore?" She asked, "And your hair....it's black...."
I reached for my face, touching below my eye gently, "I believe so." I said, "It all happened so fast....I was in the river when I realized I could see again. Never mind that, what did you end up with?"
"Not a System...." Cecilia said, "But this....."
She raised her hand up and, seeping from her skin, some water and soap appeared. It poured on the ground, dripping down like a small fountain.
"Whoa...." I said, "The Superhuman Gene.....and is that soapy water?"
She nodded, shaking her hand and making it stop, "So far....I can only turn it on but it's hard to turn it off." She said softly, "I tried using it to defend myself against them, but I couldn't do anything."
"Hm...." I said as I sat on the rock, "Interesting...."
"That could come in handy." I said, "Somehow, I think. But for now, you have to work on getting a hang on it."
"We have to get out of here." She said as she looked around, "I don't like any of this. I don't trust being in the wilderness....my Uncle once got attacked by rabid dogs in the forest one time...."
"Hm....." I said, "We should be fine."
"You don't know that." She said as she looked at me, "We need to find some sort of civilization and maybe find the others."
"Us meeting is a stroke of luck. We are not so sure that we will find the others in Kazuha." I said, "The Distorted Godlands is a vast place, like a different planet itself."
"Kazuha.....is that the name of this place?" She asked, "Where this is.....?"
I nodded, "Yea."
"Well, we still have to go somewhere." She said
"I have to find that Fort and free the Kitsune." I said seriously, "It's part of the System's tasks. By doing so, I can get stronger. That is what the System does, Cecilia, you know that."
She looked at me, "But....." She said, "That is a danger that could get you killed. And I don't want you to die, not if it means leaving me alone in this place!"
I sighed, "Quite forward, huh?"
She nodded, "I don't intend on dying...." She said, "I only volunteered for the money, like most of us did. I didn't think I would be in a place like this, I figured I would be somewhere safer....."
"The Godlands never guarantee safety." I said
"You know what I mean." She said with a frown, "W-What else is your System about? What abilities did you get?"
I pulled out my gun, "So far..." I said, "I can reload this gun without needing actual ammo. It automatically does so by itself."
"That's....insane...." She said, "And the sword?"
"I haven't gotten anything for the sword. But I could." I said, "I need to perform this task, helping the Kitsune. I met one already, she saved me. I fell off a cliff and nearly died....Well, I was knocked out. But who knows what could've happened if I were left there unconscious."
She nodded, "Anything else?" She said, "Do you have to perform tasks, that is it?"
I nodded, "Something like that."
"A System....how lucky...." She repeated that again, "Oh man....."
I looked up, "I don't know how much more time we have." I said, "The sooner I get to the fort, the better."
"It won't be safe to just go in there." She said, "It's a fortress, which is probably occupied my many men with many weapons. If you only have the gun that reloads by itself, then it won't be smart to just go at it by itself."
"I mean, that's all I got." I said, "And that's the only Regular Task I've gotten."
"Regular?" She said, "There are other types of Tasks?"
She's quite smart, she immediately picked that up.
I frowned, "Well....yea...." I said, "There's....regular...among others...."
"What kind of System did you get?" She asked
