Chapter 9 - Chapter 9:

Captian looked at me, his gaze gradually growing deeper. I had no idea what he was thinking, but after a moment, I saw him beckon to me:

"Come here."

My whole body stiffened. Still, I forced myself to get up and walk toward him.

Then his thin lips parted, and for some inexplicable reason, that husky voice of his suddenly sounded dangerously seductive to me:

"Sit down here."

The moment I heard that, fear shook me so hard my entire body trembled. My face flushed crimson, my fingers clenching the hem of my skirt, my eyes filled with resistance.

"Don't make me say it twice."

Captian narrowed his eyes, and the atmosphere instantly became tense.

My teeth chattered from fear, and I had no choice but to obediently sit beside him. Only then did his mood seem to improve slightly. He wrapped an arm around my waist, and with the other hand, he gently brushed the teardrop mole on my face.

"My king cobra disappeared last night. Do you know anything about this?"

My eyes flickered, alarm bells ringing violently inside me, as if danger had suddenly coiled around my neck. I licked my dry lips and thought carefully before daring to answer:

"I do. I heard Nanny Alley mention it just now."

"Mm."

Captian responded lightly, saying nothing more.

Cold sweat beaded on my forehead. I truly had no idea why he was asking me this. Could it be… he knew the king cobra didn't disappear on its own but that I killed it?

Impossible…

He wasn't at the snake pit. No one else was in the villa. I even made sure to avoid the cameras. No one should know anything. Then why was he asking?

Was… he probing me?

"Then… have you found the king cobra yet?" I asked cautiously.

"Not yet."

Captian pressed a light kiss to my teardrop mole, his eyes dark like a foggy night.

"Do you think I'll be able to find it?"

My spine went rigid. Did he really not know anything?

"Y-yes… you probably can… right?"

I avoided his gaze, my heart racing.

Captian noticed and smirked faintly.

"If not, I'll just buy another one."

I let out the breath I'd been holding and also quietly scoffed. Of course. The evil ones always had money to spare.

But naturally, every expression on my face fell clearly into his line of sight. His hand slid to my waist. At that moment, the scorching heat seeping through my dress burned straight into my skin, sending a jolt of panic through me like I'd been caught by a predator.

Fear flickered across my eyes, my whole body freezing up.

"President Anderson, why aren't you letting me go yet? Doing this will… disturb your breakfast…"

"It won't."

Captian tightened his grip on my small waist. His warm breath drifted straight to my ear.

"Feed me."

A violent shiver ran through me, electricity crackling under my skin. I sneaked a glance at him, my heart pounding.

"Good girls survive longer."

Captian leaned in, and while I was still stunned, he bit my cheek lightly.

Pain and heat radiated across my face, making me frown.

My hands clenched. Terror grew heavier and heavier inside me, draining the color from my lips. After hesitating for a long time, I finally picked up a piece of toasted bread and held it up to his mouth.

Captian took a bite and chewed slowly.

Watching him, I suddenly felt as if he wasn't biting bread... but tearing into me.

My body slowly chilled. In that instant, I felt myself falling into an endless abyss.

"Milk."

Captian opened his mouth in command.

My hands shook as I lifted the glass of milk to his lips.

He lowered his head and drank slowly, deliberately making my stomach twist with a strange, indescribable discomfort.

I didn't care. The only thought in my mind was wishing this breakfast would end quickly. If it continued any longer, I felt like I might suffocate.

But he continued eating leisurely, taking every bite I offered.

I didn't know how much time had passed before he finally spoke:

"You don't have to feed me anymore."

I exhaled sharply, my arms aching painfully from holding the food up so long.

"Tonight, you'll come with me somewhere."

His warm breath drifted against my ear again.

I shivered, not daring to ask further.

At dusk, Nanny Alley handed me a gift box.

It was beautifully crafted, decorated with a pale pink butterfly bow. She said Captian prepared it for me.

I opened it to find a pale-pink evening gown inside, adorned with an oversized butterfly bow. The pastel pink made it both lively and cute.

Just how obsessed was this devil with pale pink?

I cursed silently. At the same time, Nanny Alley brought in a stylist. I changed into the gown, and the stylist applied light makeup, making my already beautiful face look even more delicate and enchanting.

Staring at my reflection, I thought maybe Captian was taking me to a banquet tonight.

Once I finished getting ready, I lifted my dress and stepped out of the room.

Downstairs, Captian still wore his usual black coat. The chandelier's glow cast just the right light onto his tall frame. His presence was commanding as always but his skin looked pale, almost sickly.

I swallowed and deliberately walked slower.

Captian grabbed my wrist and pulled me into his arms.

"President Anderson…"

I gasped, frightened.

He pinched my cheek, his husky voice cutting close to my ear.

"You're walking this slowly, did you skip a meal?"

"I… already ate…"

My voice sounded soft and sweet. Under the lights it felt even more hazy, making the air strangely intoxicating.

Captian's Adam's apple bobbed. He wrapped his arms around my waist and pulled me into the car.

We sat side by side in the back seat.

I fiddled with the butterfly bow on my dress, my anxiety growing. The closeness between us made me fear something would happen. I looked out the window, trying to distract myself, but my heart still felt heavy and restless.

The atmosphere in the car grew unnaturally quiet. Our breaths tangled together, and the tension rose.

Eventually, the car stopped in front of a club.

Neon lights curled like a glowing river, luxurious and brazenly ostentatious.

My heart tightened as I stared at it.

It was obvious this wasn't a good place.

Why would Captian dress me up and bring me here?

Did he… plan to sell me?

"Get out," he said as he opened the door, his dark eyes locking onto mine.

I forced a stiff smile and obediently stepped out.

"President Anderson… what are we doing here?"

Neon lights flickered across his face before he finally said:

"To show you something interesting."

"What… kind of interesting thing?"

My heart thudded hard.

"You'll find out soon."

His eyes looked even darker beneath the hazy lights.

"O-okay…"

My eyelashes trembled. Anxiety twisted deeper inside me.

We entered the club. The manager warmly led us to an ultra luxurious VIP room, already prepared in advance.

Red and gold lights intertwined, casting a shadowy glow. On the table were snacks, bottles of fine wine, and tall crystal glasses.

Captian glanced at me and signaled for me to pour the wine.
