Synopsis
Welcome to the world of "Just One More Try, I Swear!"! This novel is a journey into a boundless, purely fantastical realm—a place where the rules of the real world do not apply. Every creature, character, location, and event is entirely a product of imagination, though you might occasionally catch whispers of old myths inspiring the tapestry we weave. This story follows our protagonist on their ambitious quest in a new world. Prepare to witness the full spectrum of the human (and non-human) experience: The Journey: A high-stakes, epic fantasy quest. The Conflict: Limitless broken brutality and hardship that pushes our characters to their limits. The Bonds: Deep emotional connections between the protagonist, their companions, and the incredible creatures they meet. The Humor: An unlimited, bold, and funny sense of camaraderie and rumor to balance the darkness. My sole intention in writing this story is to entertain and transport you completely. As the author, I (Mr. Zishan) hold no intention of hurting the feelings of any reader. If my fictional depiction of fantasy violence or emotional distress causes discomfort, please accept my sincere apology. Your enjoyment is the only goal. Thank you for picking up this novel, and I hope you enjoy every moment of this incredible adventure!

Chapter 1 - CHAPTER 1 An End or a Beginning?

CHAPTER 1 part 1

The first thing Jee-shahn registered was the silence. It was a sterile, echoing silence, punctuated only by a faint, constant hum that vibrated in his bones. He lay on a cold, smooth floor of polished white marble, the air around him smelling faintly of ozone and expensiveincense.A voice, cool and mildly irritated, sliced through the quiet."Hey. Just wake up. How much longer are you planning on lying there like that?"Jee-shahn opened his eyes. They were heavy, as if dusted with fine powder. He saw the speaker: a beautiful young woman standing over him, her robes shimmering with an impossible, gentle light. He stood slowly, not a panicked leap, but a weary, smooth motion, dusting off his worn shirt. He looked around—the room was vast, bordered by columns of brilliant jade and walls that stretched up into a hazy, light-filled distance. A celestial palace, perhaps. He glanced back at the woman. Her face showed no surprise, only a calm, professional patience."I see you're not startled," the woman noted."So you know about me," Jee-shahn said, his voice a low, gravelly monotone that seemed completely out of place in this ethereal chamber. "Good. Then I don't want you to waste my time. Tell me, where is the Hell Way?"The woman's smile faltered, her perfectly composed eyes widening just a fraction. "You'reso… direct. And mean." But her composure snapped back into place instantly. She raised one slender hand. With a sound like wind chimes, a scroll materialized in her grip—an antique, heavy thing bound in silver wire."My name is Sofia, and I am one of the guides here. Our task is to shepherd souls. And thisscroll in my hands is the guide to your specific path."Jee-shahn snatched the parchment from her, his movements startlingly quick. He didn't thank her. He simply unfurled the thick paper. The sight of the text hit him with the force of a physical blow. His scream was a raw, wretched sound, tearing from his throat—not of pain, but of utter, shattering recognition. The sound echoed and died in the vast chamber. Jee-shahn collapsed onto his knees, his hands clamped to his head, the scroll spiraling to the floor beside him. He began to tremble violently."Hey! Are you okay? What's wrong?!" Sofia rushed forward, her professionalism dissolving into genuine alarm. Her eyes fell on the open scroll. The parchment was not just written on—it was scorched. Where sacred script should have been, there were only grotesque, burning blood marks. The air above the paper shimmered, faintly tasting of sulfur and ash.Sofia's scream was a high, thin thread of horror."Y-you… you are a…"Jee-shahn, still on his knees, turned his head slowly. His face was a mask of sufering, his features contorted by a deep, psychic agony. He saw the sheer, unadulterated terror in Sofia's eyes as she looked at him, and something flickered in his own gaze—confusion, the nan unsettling spark of self-doubt.He struggled to rise."Don't move!" Sofia shrieked, recoiling several paces. She pointed a shaking finger at him."You are a monster!"Jee-shahn finally managed to stand, the pain still twisting his face. "Monster? What are you saying?"Sofia lifted her chin, pulling her fear into a desperate, furious resolve. "Don't you think I'm that stupid to believe your words? You are the Father of a Demon! Or perhaps… the Father of all Demons himself!"Jee-shahn's eyes widened, truly shocked this time. "I… I am just a middle-aged man. Don't make any fuss. Just show me the way to hell."A cold, grim smile twisted Sofia's lips. "You still think you can trick me? You came here to assassinate the Heavenly Emperor, didn't you? But I won't allow your plan to succeed!"With a grunt, she pulled a sword from seemingly nowhere—a blade of pure, solidified starlight."Wait," Jee-shahn pleaded, holding up a hand. "You've got the wrong person, I swear.""You're a good liar, Father of All Demons," Sofia spat, clutching the sword so tightly her knuckles were white. "I may not be able to defeat you, but I can stop you from crossing this way!"She reared back. The sword flashed. With a single, desperate, world-shattering slash, Sofia drove her will and power into the room. The jade columns shattered into dust. The flawless marble floor exploded. The entire, colossal chamber split down the middle with a deafening crack of thunder. Jee-shahn's eyes went wide with genuine shock as the broken palace and the collapsing ground sent him plummeting into the newly-formed, terrifying abyss.

CHAPTER 1 part 2

I am currently plummeting.A celestial palace, now just debris fading above me, decided it didn't like my presence. Youmight be wondering how things escalated from a simple request for directions to falling through the heavens. My friend, the answer is simple: a moron lady with a shiny sword. You get it now, right?Focus on the present problem. Right now, I can barely see a damn thing. I'm encased in achaos of white clouds and biting cold mist. My body is screaming—a constant, grinding ache, like a stampede of giants decided to use me as their welcome mat. The air rushes past me, an icy shriek, but that's nothing compared to the agony beneath my skin.My whole body feels heavy, unresponsive. Like every nerve has been replaced by cold, hard rock. My eyelids, too, are growing heavy, dragging downward. This is it. I think I'm actually going to die.A dark humorless chuckle rattled in my chest. With that thought, Jee-shahn's eyes fluttered shut, surrendering to the void. But a moment passed. Then another. The relentless shriek of the wind continued. His eyes snapped open. The pain was still there, the punishing, grinding agony that was supposed to cease with death.Wait. Don't I already die?He flexed his fingers—or tried to. The movement was a minute tremor, but the pain it sent through him was vivid, real, and undeniable. But I still feel my physical body. And those deadly pains are still flowing through every bloody vein.A slow, utterly grim smile spread across his bruised face. A face that had seen a thousand endings, but apparently, not this one."Men's... I'm still alive."He screamed into the gale, a guttural yell fueled by exhaustion and spite: "Just One MoreTry, I Swear!"With that desperate vow, Jee-shahn began to fight back. It wasn't a fight against the fall, but a savage war against his own petrified body. He strained every muscle, every tendon, trying to conquer the inertia that locked him down. He roared in agony: "EHHHHH!"His vision swam with blinding streaks of light and pain, but the words that erupted from himwere a refusal of fate."This is not my ending! This is my beginning!"With a sickening pop in his shoulders and spine, his body obeyed. A wave ofsensation—horrific, but controllable—flooded his limbs. A small, victorious smile finally appeared. He had won the first battle. The mist abruptly cleared.Jee-shahn's eyes went wide in genuine, heart-stopping shock. Below him was not a hard landing, or fire, or the gates of anything, but a vast, terrifying expanse of deep, dark greenocean."No, no, no," he groaned, the victory draining from him like bath water. He was going to hit that water, and he was going to drown. It was an anticlimax worthy of the moron lady who started this mess. With a loud, almost comical sob of pure frustration, Jee-shahn screamed his final words before impact: "It was a beginning! Not a very good ending!"He hit the surface with a deafening smash. The world became a roaring, churning chaos of bubbles and cold. Water filled his mouth and nose, instantly stealing the breath he had just fought so hard to reclaim. He struggled, desperate to find direction, to surface, but the palace's altitude gave the impact the force of a hammer blow. He sank, tumbling down into the crushing pressure and the sufocating darkness.Through the murky green, his eyes caught sight of it: a massive, terrifying shadow rising from the deep. Its sheer size blocked what little light penetrated the abyss. Seeing the colossal, predatory form surging toward him, Jee-shahn's last flicker of rational thought vanished. He lost his grip on the pain, on the panic, on everything. The last of his precious breath escaped his lungs in a stream of bubbles, and Jee-shahn, the weary "Father of all Demons,"finally passed out into the crushing, cold blackness.
