Chapter 23 - Chapter 23 Kalina

Stretching out his hand, Sarquiss stared in disbelief at Bellamy, who had been instantly killed with a single move.

He couldn't believe it.

That man, full of confidence and ambition, was instantly killed by a female Colonel, without even the ability to resist?

"Uh…"

The two broadswords in his hands clattered onto the deck, and he tried to make a sound from his throat, but couldn't even tremble.

A Black Spear had pierced through his chest at some point, and he lay down, his eyes filled with regret.

Until his death, he couldn't believe why he, with such a promising future, had died in this small Grand Line!

They were supposed to become great pirates!

"Hmph~"

Esdeath exhaled a smoke ring, retracted the fence in her hand, and glanced at the corpse on the ground, thinking that now no one would know about her killing.

"Well done."

She looked at Tina approvingly; it seemed Tina had learned a lot from her.

She was no longer the young man who had just transmigrated; the world of the Pirate King was not a game.

There were plenty of people who died.

Every day, the news reported islands being plundered or a country being attacked by pirates.

The numbers recorded there were lives, one by one.

Those weren't cold numbers, but lives!

"Tina thanks Esdeath, now no one will know."

Hearing Esdeath's praise, Tina smiled.

Carina, inside the barrel, patted her chest, relieved that she hadn't been discovered; otherwise, she might not have escaped death.

"I must pay special attention to this Marine in the future!"

She firmly etched Esdeath's appearance into her mind; beautiful women are not to be trifled with!

"Then let's go."

"The rest of the work is up to you."

She secretly glanced at the barrel; how could she not have noticed someone inside?

She had initially guessed Nami, but how could Nami appear in the Grand Line at this time and even encounter Bellamy and his crew?

She immediately dismissed that guess.

Then it could only be the person who stole with Nami.

Phantom Thief Carina, only this woman could appear in the Grand Line.

However, hadn't this woman gone to work for Gild Tesoro yet? After all, she was the Golden City's famous songstress.

"However, my ship does lack a songstress."

A mischievous thought surged in her mind, and with a slight push, she flipped onto the merchant ship.

At this moment, Carina's heart was in her throat; this Marine had actually come right next to her barrel.

She was so scared she didn't even dare to breathe!

"Just right, there's no alcohol on the ship, so this will be the reward."

She patted the barrel where Carina was, grabbed the barrel with one hand, and an icy handle appeared, perfectly encasing the barrel's surface.

"Tina remembers…"

Esdeath put her finger to her lips, making a shushing gesture to Tina, and then pointed at the barrel.

Tina immediately understood and continued, "Tina remembers it really seems like there's no alcohol, how convenient."

Although she didn't know what Esdeath was going to do, it certainly wasn't anything bad.

Carina secretly told herself she was unlucky, but at least she hadn't been discovered, only taken to the Marine warship.

She still had a chance to escape.

If she came out now, she would surely die!

She had personally witnessed this woman mercilessly slaughtering nobles, completely disregarding their status.

Moreover, as a thief, she certainly wouldn't escape death.

"As long as it's night, I can sneak away then!"

She never even considered fighting head-on; with that kind of combat power, let alone fighting, she probably couldn't even stand steady, so what kind of fighting would that be!

She could only hope that the woman in front of her wouldn't think of drinking before nightfall!

At this time, the Marine warship also arrived at the pirate deck and began to deal with the aftermath, as there were quite a few pirates.

There were always some stragglers, and they didn't do everything themselves, otherwise, what would their subordinates do?

"The negotiation with them is up to you, Tina."

Once the mission was complete, it had nothing to do with her; compared to the people on the ship, she was more interested in Carina in the barrel.

"No, Esdeath, you have to do this yourself, or Tina will get angry."

How could she take on something that would earn prestige? Esdeath should be the one to go.

It wasn't that she didn't want to help, but that she was thinking of Esdeath; otherwise, how could she get promoted and a raise if she didn't seek credit?

"Alright, alright, I know." Esdeath naturally knew Tina's thoughts, but she was just lazy.

"Then Tina is relieved."

Hearing Esdeath say that, Tina finally relaxed.

The scene was left to the Marines, and the barrel was also handed over to the female Marines, to prevent Carina from taking the opportunity to escape.

She, along with Tina, went to haggle with the merchant ship's Captain.

After a round of mutual flattery, under the admiring gaze of the merchant ship's Captain, Esdeath left the merchant ship with Tina.

As for casualties?

They were just a bunch of terrified pirates; if facing such pirates would cause casualties, Esdeath suggested they shouldn't be Marines.

Even if people died, Esdeath didn't care; since they became pirates or Marines, they must have been prepared for death.

"Officer Esdeath!"

The female Marine stood at attention and saluted!

Although Esdeath's image was no longer there, no one could deny Esdeath's formidable strength.

"It's fine, give me this barrel, I'll carry it."

"I can do it, Officer!"

"Why be so polite with me?"

She lifted the barrel with one hand and carried it to her quarters, saying, "I'll just put you in my bedroom; I'm thirsty and want a drink."

She patted the barrel, as if talking to it, a mysterious smile on her face.

"Ah!"

"What am I going to do, I've been moved to the bedroom!"

"How am I going to escape now!"

She had heard everything Esdeath said through the barrel, crystal clear.

She was almost exhausted from staying in the barrel, and now she had to continue staying; wasn't this pure torture!

Creak!

The bedroom door closed, and Carina secretly peered out of the barrel, then suddenly exerted force and broke out of it.

She didn't believe Esdeath could return so quickly; if she returned, she would be finished.

"This woman really knows how to enjoy herself."

She scanned Esdeath's sleeping area, a pure white, minimalist style.

"Huh, it's so soft!"

She pressed the bed with her hand, then lay down completely.

Creak!

The door was about to open, and Carina quickly dove under the covers, secretly praying she wouldn't be discovered.
