Chapter 48 - Chapter 48: A Natural-Born Powerhouse, I am the Demon King Ship!

The horse girl named "Gold Ship" knew she was not ordinary from a young age. Because she was too outstanding. Despite being just a little kid who hadn't even reached maturity, Gold Ship always felt that she was the real adult. Even the teachers at school were so weak that they didn't even qualify for her to take them seriously.

Therefore, Gold Ship was always alone.

She couldn't resonate with the thoughts of others, especially not with the naive little brats her age. She felt that if she were to humor them, she would simply be insulting her own superior brain.

In the eyes of outsiders, Gold Ship was an oddball.

And a very difficult oddball to get along with, at that.

At first, some children had wanted to be friends with Gold Ship. But when they discovered that Gold Ship could easily do things they couldn't, and that Gold Ship's eyes always held a hint of an emotion they hated, the children gradually began to distance themselves from this oddball.

Although some adults tried to change the children's minds, they all failed.

It wasn't just the little horse girls isolating Gold Ship; Gold Ship was also rejecting them.

The adults tried to communicate with Gold Ship, but she wouldn't listen at all.

In the end, Gold Ship became an outcast at the school.

But she didn't care at all, because she had always believed that she was the one who was right.

Whether in academics or running, she was always number one.

And in her perception, the strong are always right. Otherwise, why would people worship those powerful horse girls? Those naive little brats didn't understand anything. They thought they were the ones isolating Lord Gold Ship, but they had no idea that it was they who were not qualified to play with Lord Gold Ship.

With the annoying brats no longer wasting her time, Gold Ship suddenly found herself with a lot of free time. She had no intention of training hard; ordinary training was more than enough for her.

She wasn't strong because she worked hard. She was born strong!

The word "effort" had never existed in her dictionary.

Only the weak needed to make an effort.

Of course, her intelligent brain made her realize...

Her thoughts, her very existence, were abnormal.

It wasn't that she didn't understand common sense; she just disdained to disguise herself.

She didn't want to become like those weaklings.

But sometimes she would also wonder...

What exactly was she? Why was she so different from everyone else?

A "natural-born powerhouse" shouldn't exist. This was something she learned after understanding this world. At least, according to common sense, a "glitched" existence like her shouldn't be possible.

But she did exist.

Gold Ship, feeling like she didn't fit in with the real world, began to get into fantasy works. In her family's eyes, Gold Ship was starting to become normal, liking cartoons just like an ordinary child. But they didn't know that Gold Ship was just looking for an answer.

Until one time, Gold Ship watched a series about a Hero and a Demon King.

The Demon King in it was just like her, a natural-born powerhouse.

Things that others found difficult were effortless for the Demon King.

The Demon King in the story had also once wondered about the meaning of his existence, just as she did now. Why was he the only one of or...his kind in the whole world?

The Demon King quickly found his answer. It wasn't that he was too strong; it was just that everyone else was too weak. In that case, he just needed to create a powerhouse as strong as himself.

And so, the Demon King began his experiments. He created magic that could make ordinary people stronger. He used himself as a template to create a race born with powerful magic. But none of this could satisfy the Demon King's requirements. Until one day, the Demon King happened to see a young human boy who, in a life-or-death crisis, broke through his limits and obtained power. The Demon King was inspired. He began to order the demon race to invade the human world, demanding they slaughter the humans. In the Demon King's eyes, all of this was just an experiment.

Afterward, during the thousands of years of the human-demon war, under extreme pressure, powerhouses finally emerged among humanity. Even though they were still incredibly weak compared to the Demon King, he was still happy. That human killed a demon general and fought his way into the Demon King's castle. The Demon King was overjoyed at this human's birth, so he created a fake Demon King clone and let the human "vanquish" it.

Because he had vanquished the Demon King, that human was hailed as the "Hero."

As a reward for the Hero's birth, the Demon King granted humanity a hundred years of peace.

Only after the first Hero passed away did the Demon King create another clone, revive his demon generals, and launch another war against the human world. This continued for over six thousand years, during which countless Heroes were born. They defeated the demon race, defeated the Demon King's clones, and fought for humanity's survival. Until, six thousand-odd years later—the main timeline of the anime—the strongest Hero was born.

He was the "same kind" that the Demon King had been waiting for.

The plot of the anime was about the Hero and his party fighting their way to the Demon King's castle, killing the Demon King's clone, and then sensing the main body's location. In the end, the Demon King and the Hero had a huge battle, and the Hero successfully killed the "unspeakably evil" Demon King, saving the world. But none of this held any appeal for Gold Ship. The only thing in this anime that attracted her was the Demon King... and the things the Demon King did.

She felt that she was that Demon King.

That's right! If there are no comrades, just make them!

Just like the Demon King in the anime.

She, too, would create a Hero!

And so, from that day on, Gold Ship began to act out. She started bullying the other children. When adults asked her why she was doing such things, she would laugh wildly and reply: "Because only by feeling pain can people grow! So, Lord Gold Ship will make them feel pain and help them grow! If they don't want to suffer this pain, they should hurry up and get strong enough to defeat Lord Gold Ship!"

The adults tried to correct her thinking, but it was useless. The "awakened" Gold Ship wouldn't listen to anyone. Soon, every student in the school had been bullied by Gold Ship. Of course, Gold Ship disdained the use of physical violence. This world wasn't the world from the anime, after all. A horse girl's strength was related to running. So, Gold Ship would just use all sorts of methods to humiliate them during gym class.

"Hey, hey, hey! Are you even trying? Running this slow, and you still want to be horse girls? I suggest you give up dreaming! You have no talent at all!"

She would deliberately follow behind her classmates during a run, insulting them. Or, during a test, she would deliberately give her opponent a 10-second head start... and then cruelly overtake them, inflicting extreme humiliation.

Soon, Gold Ship became the most hated person among the students.

But Gold Ship didn't care. In fact, this was exactly what she wanted.

She would become the Demon King hated by all, and then wait for a true Hero to be born!

Unfortunately, even by the time she reached maturity and was accepted into Tracen Academy, not a single one of those little horse girls had been able to stand up and challenge her. Gold Ship was incredibly disappointed.

"That's...?!"

On Gold Ship's first day at Tracen Academy, before she had even done anything, many students were already in an uproar over her arrival.

Because she had transferred schools so often, Gold Ship no longer remembered how many horse girls she had bullied.

And among those horse girls, there were, of course, students who had also gotten into Tracen Academy. After all, Gold Ship never cared about age when she bullied people. As long as they hadn't reached maturity, she treated them all the same. Because before they matured, they all had infinite potential.

Perhaps... one of them could become a Hero.

While many students were having nightmares about Gold Ship's arrival, Gold Ship also had a dream on the night of her enrollment. Was it... her past life, and the life before that?

No, that's not quite right. Gold Ship looked at the Mejiro McQueen and the human in her memories.

The memories from her human life and her Mejiro McQueen life didn't affect Gold Ship. It was just like with Mejiro McQueen back then. Even if they learned of their origins, they had already accepted their current identities. So, Gold Ship would only be Gold Ship. She had simply recovered some memories.

Gold Ship thought about that Mejiro McQueen and couldn't help but say, "I never thought... that Lord Gold Ship was the latecomer."

She never thought that she, the Demon King, was born after.

If she weren't currently unable to return to that world, she would go find Mejiro McQueen right now.

Because Mejiro McQueen was her "same kind." You could even say they were the same person. It was just that their different reincarnations had led to certain differences in their personalities. But originally, they were the same person. There was no closer relationship than this. She was not a lonely Demon King.

Damn it!

How can I clear this story chapter as quickly as possible?

Gold Ship scratched her head, but she couldn't figure out what her "career goal" was. Mejiro McQueen's mission was to protect the honor of the Mejiro family. But what was Gold Ship's goal?

Ugh, she couldn't think of an answer at all.

Because the "original" Gold Ship was just as "not normal" as she was. It's just that that Gold Ship's brain was even more abnormal. She had no idea what goal that Gold Ship wanted to achieve.

"Whatever! I just have to win everything, right? And it seems I don't need to be in such a hurry. My original plan might still be possible, after all. Don't I already have 'magic'? And I've even found a candidate... Even if she's not the same, the body is, right? Mejiro McQueen!"

The Demon King Ship revealed a cruel smile.

She would spread the "magic" (skills). As for the consequences... she didn't care. As long as it made her happy, that was enough. Since she couldn't cause trouble for that Mejiro McQueen for the time being, she would stick to her original plan and create some ordinary "Heroes" to amuse herself. Otherwise, wouldn't it be too boring? The timing of these memories returning was perfect. Otherwise, she would have had to find a way to create "magic" to teach to others.
