Chapter 49 - Chapter 49: Gold Ship is Looking for a Trainer

"Why did that one get to enroll?!"

A girl with pigtails sounded like she was about to go on a rampage. The moment she saw the horse girl in the bright red formal wear with a purple cloak over her shoulders enter the campus, she knew that her hellish life was about to catch up with her again. The memories of being dominated by the Demon King came flooding back.

Thinking back to the days when that girl bullied her to tears as a child, Tosen Jordan desperately wanted to flee the school immediately. But the reality was, she could no longer escape by transferring schools like she did back then. She didn't understand why Tracen Academy would let that Demon King of Chaos enroll.

Can you really do whatever you want just because you're strong?

"Damn it, I can't accept this!"

Tosen Jordan howled, clutching her head.

Just then, she felt that nightmarish gaze and shivered.

That's right, it was her gaze. She would never forget this feeling. That girl's awfulness was practically a special ability; even during training, she could use her gaze to scare opponents into losing speed.

That "passionate" gaze, as if it wanted to swallow a little horse girl whole like sashimi. The horse girl being stared at would feel a sticky sensation all over, as if all her strength was being drained. Tosen Jordan's face was full of terror, her eyes gradually becoming vacant. This was the Demon King's power; the Demon King could subdue opponents with just a look. Tosen Jordan clenched her fists tightly, and only with great difficulty did she manage to resist.

"I'm not the same person I was as a kid!"

She was drenched in sweat, panting heavily as she looked at the figure standing at the entrance.

Gold Ship looked at the horse girl glaring at her and revealed a joyful smile. This must be one of the little ones I used to bully. Not bad, not bad. Not only did she become a horse girl and join Central Tracen, but she can even withstand my passionate gaze. I don't know how much she's grown over the years, but she can barely be considered a 'Hero,' right?

"Hi there."

Gold Ship mouthed the words to her.

Tosen Jordan trembled.

Then, before Gold Ship could come over, she frantically ran away. She knew very well she was no match for this Demon King. She wasn't even confident she could beat the "little" Demon King from her childhood memories, let alone the "Great" Demon King who had now reached maturity and looked even stronger and more terrifying.

At that moment, Hayakawa Tazuna walked over to Gold Ship and said, "Miss Gold Ship, please restrain yourself. Do not unleash your 'bewitching' power on campus. Besides, that is not a power you should be using on others in daily life. Seeing as you are a new student and this is your first offense, I will only give you a warning this time. But if there is a next time, I will have to penalize you."

"Hoh~"

Gold Ship chuckled. Not only did she not restrain herself, but she also casually unleashed her Demon King aura on the President's secretary. That terrifying mental power knocked Hayakawa Tazuna back several steps. However, Tazuna ultimately managed to withstand the aura, her expression barely changing. Gold Ship was slightly surprised to see her readjust so quickly.

Although she already knew this secretary was a hidden master, like a "sweeper monk," Gold Ship hadn't thought she'd be that strong. But now, seeing her actually withstand her Demon King aura, she immediately became excited. Her eyes instantly grew feverish.

"Not bad. You're the first person to remain calm under this power. It's a waste for you to be a gatekeeper here. Have you ever thought about becoming a 'Hero'?"

Hayakawa Tazuna looked at Gold Ship with a serious expression. She had never even heard of a "bewitching" power of this level.

"Please stop. I have the authority to ban you from your debut race."

"..."

Gold Ship fell silent for a moment before finally retracting her skill.

"As I thought, you adults are just boring."

If she were banned from her debut race, even she would find it troublesome.

"I'll be careful, alright?"

Gold Ship finished speaking and was about to enter the academy, but Hayakawa Tazuna's voice came from behind her again.

"Also, Miss Gold Ship, please be sure to wear your school uniform the next time you come to school."

Tch. What a nag.

Gold Ship turned around in annoyance, unzipped her red formal dress, and said to Tazuna, "See? I am wearing the uniform underneath. Anything else?"

Hayakawa Tazuna looked at Gold Ship's attire, her expression a bit strange. Wearing the uniform underneath, with a red dress over it, and a purple cloak on top... does this child not feel hot?

"That is all. I hope you have a pleasant day on campus."

"Hmph."

Gold Ship zipped her dress back up and strode into the campus. Hayakawa Tazuna watched the child-like Gold Ship and couldn't help but smile. Although the girl's temper was indeed volatile, she felt Gold Ship wasn't the hopelessly bad child the rumors made her out to be. It's just that Gold Ship's personality would indeed be difficult to teach.

Gold Ship, having entered the campus, had no intention of going to class. She disliked class, and she already knew everything they taught. Right now, she just wanted to catch a lone trainer. Although a horse girl could register for races herself, that wasn't something a horse girl without a powerful faction could do. She didn't have a Mejiro family to back her up, so finding a trainer was the top priority.

"Is there a 'P' in this world? That one's trainer was great. I'll go ask around first." She casually took off her "Demon King two-piece set," stuffed it into her empty school bag, and fixed her hair. Recalling Mejiro McQueen's dignified aura, she transformed into an elegant young lady in the blink of an eye.

By asking a passing trainer, Gold Ship learned one thing: although there was a "Team Spica" in this world, there was no trainer in it named "P."

Furthermore, Oguri Cap was not a member of Spica. In other words, this was another world with a completely different background. Her plan to find "P" had failed.

'Fine. Looks like I'll have to pick one at random.'

Gold Ship looked at the trainer list she had acquired.

It wasn't hard to get the list; it wasn't a secret. Besides, she was a Tracen student. If she weren't afraid of her own reputation being too infamous, she wouldn't have needed to use Mejiro McQueen's aura as a disguise.

'Nishizaki Ryu? Is that Okeya?'

Finally, Gold Ship found a familiar name on the list. But what surprised her was that Okeya currently had no horse girls. That guy was a bit of a slacker, but his skills were the real deal. How did he end up in this state?

'This guy is also the type of trainer who respects the horse girl's wishes, right? Since I can't find P, I'll just make do with him.'

Gold Ship wasn't afraid of Okeya being a slacker; she was afraid of finding one of those overly serious trainers. Her training and her race schedule should be decided by her. She didn't need anyone else pointing fingers at her. After all, she was different from other horse girls. She was born strong!

Arriving at the staff dormitory, Gold Ship found Trainer Okeya's room with the help of the dorm manager. She knocked, but there was no response. However, the manager had told her that Trainer Okeya was in his room; he hadn't gone out all day. She had also learned some information about him from the manager: Okeya's original team had been forced to disband because all his horse girls had left.

Trainer Okeya himself had been hit hard by this and had started to live a degenerate life, no longer going to work. If he continued like this, he would likely be fired from Tracen Academy.

"I know you're in there! Open up!" Gold Ship pounded on the door.

Okeya, who was in the middle of a hangover, was woken up by the noise. He clutched his aching head and got out of bed. Who the hell is that? Isn't this when students are in morning class? How dare they make such a racket at this hour?

It sounded like a girl, but he didn't recognize the voice.

"Wait a minute! Stop knocking!"

He quickly tidied himself up a bit and, sporting a bed-head, went to open the door.

The moment he opened it, he thought he was hallucinating. Why would such a beautiful horse girl be looking for him?

Okeya was momentarily flustered.

"You're Trainer Okeya, right?"

"Uh... yes, I am."

"Good. Here, sign this."

Gold Ship whipped out a piece of paper and a pen.

"Hold on, you have to explain things first! Miss, what exactly do you want me to do?"

"Aren't you a trainer?"

"I am."

"Then that's good enough. Don't be so wishy-washy. Hurry up and sign!"

Okeya helplessly read the contents of the paper.

"Your name is Gold Ship... and you want me to be your trainer?"

Is this for real? A horse girl still wants a good-for-nothing like me to be her trainer?

Okeya's first thought was disbelief.

He had messed everything up.

Although he just wanted to respect his team members' wishes, they had ended up seeing him as an unqualified trainer. But he didn't cry foul for himself, because he honestly didn't know if his ideas were right or wrong. A "qualified" trainer should be like that person, someone who can strictly manage a horse girl's condition and races, right? But he couldn't do that. He couldn't tell his team members, "Your ideas aren't important."

Maybe he really wasn't cut out to be a trainer. So, he hadn't thought about finding other horse girls to sign, nor did he intend to rebuild a team. But just when he had given up on himself, why had this horse girl named Gold Ship shown up on his doorstep?

"If I'm not here to get you as a trainer, am I here to ask you to dinner? Stop talking nonsense and sign! Being able to sign me is your honor, because there's no horse girl in this world stronger than me!"

Gold Ship grinned wildly. Although it shattered the elegant aura she had been feigning, Okeya, who had been about to refuse, hesitated. He could feel the confidence and dominance rolling off her.

This girl... she said she's the strongest...
