Chapter 43 - After Tonight, the Wave Knight Will Be My Wave Knight

Goth Grand Hotel, Mondstadt.

Rosalyne's mood rose and plummeted like a roller coaster.

The diary projection still displayed an entire field of Ruin Graders, row after row after row.

Her jaw tightened. Sweat beaded at her temple.

Hundreds of Ruin Graders… for one Knight of Favonius?

That wasn't punishment.

That was execution.

And the worst part—

Su Xuan was clearly doing this despite knowing Eula's "I'll remember this vengeance" line was just a defensive habit, not a real threat.

Rosalyne suddenly imagined her own behavior:

Her arrogance.

Her temper.

Her very real threats.

If she said the wrong thing…

Would he just casually twist her jaw off?

Her throat tightened.

She made a mental note:

When negotiating later: speak softly. Speak carefully. Do not die.

At the Knights of Favonius Headquarters

Amber burst through the office door.

"Acting Grand Master! Awful news! Eula… she… she angered him! On Dragonspine!"

Jean massaged her forehead.

Lisa?

Lisa didn't even look worried.

She sipped her tea, turning pages of the diary, casually counting how many Ruin Graders were in the photo.

"Amber," Lisa said gently. "Even if you panic, there's nothing you can change.

And if Su Xuan really intended to harm Eula—Jean flying there won't change anything."

Amber deflated instantly.

"But—but—"

Lisa raised a finger, tone suddenly serious enough to freeze the air.

"Eula is likely one of the diary holders too. If so, he won't kill her.

He's just… teasing."

Amber blinked.

Lisa's expression radiated something horrifyingly familiar to Jean:

The expression of someone who is recruiting for Su Xuan's… group.

Jean suddenly stood up.

No words.

No explanation.

She just ran.

"…Oh no."

If Barbara has the diary too—

Jean's heart hit the floor.

Dragonspine

Eula stared at the endless mechanical army.

Her pulse hammered.

Her legs trembled.

This… wasn't a fight.

This was a declaration of absolute power.

Even Mondstadt would fall beneath this kind of force.

She slowly lowered herself to her knees—then folded her hands in her lap, posture proper and calm, eyes shut.

"If you're going to kill me," she said softly,

"do it cleanly—like you did with the mad village chief in Inazuma.

A quick execution. I don't want to struggle."

Su Xuan: "…"

He stared at her.

This woman is more dramatic than I expected.

"I was going to play a game," he sighed.

"To see how many you could defeat. But you surrendered before we even started."

Eula's eyes flew open.

"…You're not going to kill me?"

"When," Su Xuan asked flatly, "did I say I would?"

She pointed vigorously at the diary's last sentence.

"You said I would pay the price!"

"That," Su Xuan said, waving the Ruin Graders away,

"was me quoting you.

You ruin the mood, Wave Knight. This vengeance, I'll remember."

Eula froze.

Then—

She laughed.

A small, startled, real laugh.

"...You—really know how to tease someone."

"I'm not a machine. I can make jokes." Su Xuan shrugged.

"Unlike you. You crack the slightest and immediately go 'kill me now.'"

Eula coughed, embarrassed.

"Well… yes. That was dramatic."

"Good. Since you're calm now—come with me."

"Where?"

"To the cavern where Durin's heart rests. I want data on alchemical creations."

Eula blinked.

"You're already absurdly strong. Yet you still seek knowledge?"

"No," Su Xuan corrected.

"It's simply convenient. I learn it, then pass it on."

Eula tilted her head.

"…Pass it on to who?"

"Someone in Mondstadt who studies magic."

A figure came to mind—

soft voice, lazy smile, book always in hand—

Eula froze.

"…Not—Lisa?"

"Yes," Su Xuan replied. "She's mine."

Eula choked.

"You've known her for three days."

"The first night she was mine."

Eula: "???"

"And Jean," Su Xuan added casually.

"She was mine yesterday."

Eula:

"…???"

Her brain fully blue-screened.

Lisa. The refined rose witch.

Jean. The unshakable, righteous Grand Master.

Both.

In two nights.

She stared at him.

This was no longer a romance.

This was a natural disaster.

Her thoughts tangled—

Su Xuan smirked.

"You look anxious, Wave Knight.

If you want to cut in line, I'll allow it."

Eula:

"???"
