Chapter Six: Reading the Next Page
As the light of the sun dawned upon the world in declaration of a new day, the wind flowed as the heavens guided them.
But far from the windy winds, in a place untouched by rulers and dictators alike, the Veridian Duchy.
There was a clouded atmosphere as servants gathered as they were bidding their goodbyes to the maid of the fifth child of the duke, Ellara Alderwood.
She stood there in her traveling outfit, with her bronze eyes and black hair flowing in the wind; her tender hands held her suitcase without nuisance or struggle.
Valen walked up to her and pinched her skirt with his little hands and said.
"Where are you going, Sister Ellara? I want to go with you too."
Absorbing his words to her ears, Ellara couldn't help but chuckle and spoke while bending down to Valen's level and spoke in a kind tone.
"You can't come with me; Valen the duke won't allow it. Besides, I'm not leaving for long; I'm just going to go on a small trip to my village."
Valen frowned hearing her words and started to cry softly.
However, watching from afar was a man who was feared by the royals and commoners alike: Diable Veridian.
Watching all of this, he thought of something to himself: that even as the writer, I can't sense or write for myself.
In a blink he appeared before Ellara and Valen's eyes.
And spoke in a calm but composed manner.
"Ellara, as you're lord, I command you to take Valen with you on your trip to the village of Valamire."
Hearing his orders, Ellara couldn't deny them, so she bowed in agreement.
Valen couldn't help but laugh and smile; he spoke while giggling.
"Yay! Sister Ellara, pick me up. I will go with you. Pick me, pick me."
Responding to his words, Ellara picked up Valen in her hands, and they departed from the Falahine Castle of the Veridian Duchy.
On their trip to the Valamire, Valen started to chat with Ellara about hypothetical situations.
"Sister Ellara, if you could attain the highest realm of cultivation in any field, what would it be and why?"
Hearing his words, Ellars replied excitedly, "I would have eight realms of sorcery."
She said,
Letting her words sink into his ears, Valen further asked, "But why the sorcery? You can have alchemy, spear, godai, sword, and bow, and many more."
Hearing his question, Ellara glanced at her kin for answers and replied.
"Because sorcerers can do anything, like giving you a snack out of nowhere."
Ellara pulled out a bunch of snacks for Valen.
Valen started to fly in happiness, looking at all those snacks.
He quickly snatched them from Ellara's hands and started munching on them; soon the Genius of the North fell asleep."
Looking at Valen sleeping, Ellara couldn't help but smile and say,
"I hope you grow up strong to make your big sister proud, Valen. Just like Marcus, you both are my treasures." I won't let any of the world hurt my little brother ever."
As the time passed, they got closer and closer.
To the Valamire.
They soon reached their destination.
Ellara woke Valen up and said,
"Wake up, Valen, we arrived."
Valen jumped out of the carriage and was stunned by the outside world.
There was greenery everywhere instead of marble pathways and sculptures.
Animals were running wild, chasing their death in an uncertain world; children were playing happily; everything was like a dream, although in that happiness were problems.
But they were too shallow to get noticed.
As they walked to a nearby house, a boy came running to Ellara and Valen; he looked like he was the same age as Valen.
His white-black hair flowed with his green emerald eyes and his clear skin; he was looking like an angel taken from a fairy tale.
He ran straight to Ellara and hugged her tightly.
Seeing him hug her, Ellara got down to her knees and placed her hand on his head and said.
"Hi Marcus, How has it been? Still fun being the genius you are?"
Marcus cracked a grin and said in a Rocky voice,
"Yeah, it's fun, but there is no one I can compete with, so it's not all sunshine and roses."
Hearing his words, Ellara cracked a smile and said.
"Then why don't you introduce yourself to Valen? I'm sure he can give you the competition you're looking for."
Hearing her words, Marcus turned to Valen and pointed to himself and spoke with a grin.
"Hi, my name is Marcus Alderwood. I'm going to be the superhero of the world of Eclypsera and save it when it is in trouble."
Hearing his words, Valen smiled and shook hands with Marcus while saying,
"My name is Valen Veridian. I am going to be the Emperor of Kiel and rule it and give my citizens a better life and a dream."
Absorbing his words from afar was the grandfather of Marcus and Ellara; he walked up to them and spoke in an inspiring tone.
"Both your dreams will be fulfilled, Childs; you just have to get trained by Mighty Aurelius Alderwood."
Hearing his words, both the boys started laughing.
Seeing his humiliation, Aurelius was annoyed and started to pull both of their ears.
Behind them approached the big brother of Marcus, "Flion."
He approached Ellara and welcomed her and asked about her journey, and then he turned to his grandfather and started shouting at him.
"Grandpa, that is not how you treat children; you are going to give them an ear infection."
Hearing his words, Aurelius replied.
"Oho, so now the mighty alchemist of the Alderwoods is going to tell me about diseases, but you are right, Grandson, I'll stop."
Seeing him this way didn't give Flion a chance to argue, and he sighed, and they went back in the Alderwood house.
