Chapter 5 - Chapter 5: Rivalry

The sun hung high over the vast, sandy desert on Earth, but the ground was no longer smooth and brown like it used to be. Huge cracks ran through the sand like giant scars. Rocks were scattered everywhere, and big holes dotted the land from the fight that had just happened. Trunks and Goten, two young Saiyan warriors who were best friends most of the time, had been battling it out. They were pushing each other to get stronger, just like their dads, Goku and Vegeta, always did. But now, things were getting serious. The warm-up was over. This was the real deal.

Trunks stood tall, his feet planted firmly in the hot sand. He took a deep breath, feeling the power building up inside him like a storm ready to break free. "Haaaaa, HAA!" he yelled at the top of his lungs. In that instant, his body changed. His hair turned a bright, shining golden color, standing up straight and sharp. Sparks of electricity danced around him like little lightning bolts. A golden aura, glowing and powerful, surged up high into the sky, making the air around him hum with energy. His eyes looked serious and focused, no more playing around. He had fully transformed into Super Saiyan 2, a form that made him much stronger than before.

The desert was already partially destroyed from their earlier punches and kicks. Sand had been kicked up into huge clouds, and parts of the ground were smashed in. But all that seemed like just a little practice compared to what was about to happen now. The real battle was starting, and it was going to shake everything.

Goten stood a good distance away, watching Trunks with a determined look. He wasn't going to back down. "This time, I will show you who truly is stronger, Trunks!" Goten said loudly, his voice full of fire. Right then, his eyes turned a bright golden color. He clenched both his fists together tightly, so hard that his knuckles turned white. The ground under his feet began to tremble slightly, like the earth was shaking in fear. Small pebbles and bits of sand started to slowly rise into the air around him, floating as if gravity had forgotten about them. Veins popped out on his forehead, bulging with the effort. He stared directly at Trunks, not blinking once.

"HAAAAAAAAAA, HAAAAAAA, HAAA!" Goten screamed out even louder. This time, the ground quaked heavily, shaking so much that cracks spread out from where he stood. Lightning flashed across the sky without warning, bright and scary. Dark clouds swiftly gathered from nowhere, covering the blue sky and turning the bright day into a dark, stormy night. The wind picked up, howling through the desert. "Haaaaaa!" Goten finished his yell, and finally, he transformed into Super Saiyan 2. His hair shone golden just like Trunks', and electricity sparked around him too. But something was different about Goten's form. It felt heavier, more intense, like his power was deeper and wilder.

Trunks stood many feet away, feeling a chill run down his spine even in the heat. "Why does it feel like his power is stronger than mine?" Trunks muttered to himself quietly, his serious eyes narrowing. He couldn't believe it. They were both half-Saiyan, both trained hard, but Goten's energy seemed to push against him like a wall.

"Come on, Trunks! Let's end this battle!" Goten said, his face hardening. No smiles now, no jokes. His golden aura surged through his body, making him look like a glowing warrior. Without another word, he dashed forward with incredible speed, flying straight at Trunks like a rocket.

"He's fast!" Trunks thought in a panic, his heart racing. He hurriedly raised both his hands up in front of him as a defense, bracing for the impact he could sense coming.

"Bam!" Goten's fist landed a powerful blow right on Trunks' crossed hands. The force was enormous, like being hit by a speeding truck. It sent Trunks flying backward many distances, his body tumbling through the air. He crashed hard into a tall mountain ahead, the rock face groaning under the impact. "Boom!" The mountain shook, chunks of stone falling down as Trunks slid to the ground, sand and dust flying everywhere.

Trunks pushed himself up slowly, shaking off the pain. "How is it possible that his own Super Saiyan far exceeds mine? That's impossible! I refuse to lose to you, Goten!" he screamed out, anger boiling inside him. Power surged through his entire body even more, building up like a volcano about to erupt. The air got very thick instantly, filled with heat and his raging anger. The mountain behind him couldn't take it—the surging power destroyed it quickly, rocks exploding outward in all directions.

With a loud "Booom!" Trunks flew at an incredible speed toward Goten, leaving a trail of golden light behind him. The two warriors met in the middle of the desert, clashing with everything they had. They left a huge crater in the ground, as wide and deep as a river. Fists collided with thunderous sounds—bam, bam, bam! Kicks flew fast, colliding mid-air with cracks that echoed. Ki blasts, those balls of pure energy, shot from their hands and collided too, exploding in bright flashes. Each strike, each kick, each blast only left massive destruction. Explosions boomed one after another, so loud they could be heard from many kilometers away. The desert was turning into a wasteland, sand turning to glass from the heat, craters overlapping craters.

"Haaaaa!" Trunks screamed out, throwing a strong right punch straight at Goten's face. But Goten was ready. He easily caught Trunks' hand with his own right hand, stopping it cold.

"Bam!" Goten threw his own devastating punch right back at Trunks. The blow was like a hammer, sending Trunks crashing down heavily into the ground with a loud thud that shook the earth again. Sand flew up in a huge cloud, and Trunks lay there for a second, groaning.

Goten didn't let up. He hovered in the air, his hands cupping together in front of him, just like his father Goku did when he used his signature move. "Take this! KaaaMeeeHaaaMeeeHaaa!" Goten screamed out, energy gathering in his palms. A bright blue beam of power formed.

"Swoosh!" The Kamehameha energy blast shot downward at Trunks, who was still laying on the ground, trying to get up. It lit up the dark sky as it raced down.

Trunks rolled to his feet just in time. "Bring it on! Final Flash!" he yelled, cupping his hands at his side. His own energy blast, a wide yellow beam, shot upward to meet Goten's attack.

Immediately, both energy blasts collided with a loud "Boom!" that rattled the whole desert. The air cracked with crazy waves of energy, pushing out in all directions like invisible walls. Both Saiyans pushed with all their strength, grunting and straining. The ground below cracked like spiderwebs, spreading out far and wide. Sand was sucked into the clash, disappearing in the light.

"I'm not going to lose!" both Saiyans screamed out at the same time, their eyes determined and fierce, golden hair whipping in the wind from the force.

"Haaaaaaaaaa!" they both screamed together again, pouring even more power into their beams. Trunks' feet sank into the ground slowly, the sand turning soft under the pressure, but he refused to be moved back even an inch. He dug in, muscles bulging.

"Haaaaaa!" Another push, and then—"Boom!" Both energy blasts erupted into a mighty explosion. The blast was huge, a massive ball of light and fire that lit up the night like a second sun. It sent both warriors flying in opposite directions, their bodies spinning through the air. They crashed finally into the ground with loud thuds, kicking up more sand and rocks. The desert was silent for a moment, smoke rising from the new giant crater in the center. Trunks and Goten lay there, breathing hard, but neither was ready to give up yet. The battle was far from over, and their friendship was being tested in the fires of true Saiyan spirit.

Meanwhile, far away from Earth, on planet Sidala, things were much calmer—at least for now. The planet was a peaceful place where Saiyans from Universe 6 lived alongside other races. The sky was a bright blue, shining down on green fields and tall mountains. Rivers of green water flowed crystal clear, and it was safe to drink even though it looked different from Earth's blue water. Cities and villages dotted the land, with Saiyans flying around or training in open areas. Everyone got along, working together to make their world strong.

High in the sky, Goku was flying with his usual big grin. He paused mid-flight, waving happily. "Hey, Cabba! What's up?" Goku called out, his smile funny and wide, like he was always ready for fun.

Cabba, a young Saiyan from Universe 6 with short black hair and a kind face, looked up in surprise. "Uh, oh, hi sir!" Cabba replied back, stumbling a bit over his words. He was running across a grassy field but stopped when he saw who it was. "Uhmm, what brings you here?" he asked, jogging over to where Goku and Piccolo were now flying down to the ground. Piccolo landed with his arms crossed, looking serious as always in his green cape.

Goku scratched his head, still smiling. "Hehe, I'm here to train! Where's Kale and Caulifla?" Goku asked, his face soft and comfy, like he was just visiting old friends for a picnic instead of a tough workout.

Cabba glanced around, making sure no one else was listening. "Well, I can take you to them. They are somewhere in those mountains," Cabba responded, his eyes darting between Goku and Piccolo. The mountains in the distance were tall and rocky, covered in green trees and mist.

Goku nodded excitedly, but Cabba had another question. "Uh, sir Goku, where's my master? I don't see him here, except sir Piccolo," Cabba asked politely. He looked up to Vegeta as his teacher, even though Vegeta was from Universe 7.

Goku laughed lightly. "Vegeta is busy with training in another place right now. Maybe next time he will be here," Goku replied, still smiling wide. He didn't seem worried at all.

Piccolo, who had been quiet, finally spoke up. His voice was deep and no-nonsense. "Hey, Cabba, take us to Kale and Caulifla already. Enough with the discussions," Piccolo said, his arms crossed tightly over his chest, face serious and a bit impatient.

Cabba jumped a little. "Oh, okay! I do that now. Please follow me," Cabba said quickly. Without wasting more time, the three of them—Goku, Piccolo, and Cabba—immediately flew into the air with intense speed. They zoomed toward the deep mountains, leaving trails of wind behind them.

As they flew, the beauty of Planet Sidala unfolded below. Saiyans were sparring in fields, laughing and powering up. Other races, like furry aliens or tall human-like people, waved hello or went about their days. The blue sky shone brightly, not a cloud in sight here unlike the storm on Earth. The green water sparkled in the sunlight, fish jumping out now and then. It was a world full of life and strength, where everyone trained to protect what they had.

"We are almost there," Cabba said over the rushing wind, pointing ahead to a cluster of high peaks.

Piccolo muttered to himself under his breath, a small smile hidden on his face. "Can't wait to gather some energy."

Goku, flying in the lead with his orange gi flapping, muttered under his breath too, excited. "I'm coming, Kale, Caulifla!" He couldn't wait to spar and fuck, to push his limits, and maybe learn something new. Training was what made life fun for him.

Back on Earth, in the ruined desert, Trunks pushed himself up from the ground, sand falling off his torn clothes. His golden aura flickered but grew strong again. Goten was doing the same on the other side of the crater, wiping blood from his lip but grinning fiercely. The two friends locked eyes, ready for the next round. Their powers were climbing higher, the air buzzing with electricity. Explosions from before still echoed faintly, and the dark clouds hung heavy. This fight was teaching them both a

bout true strength, the kind that comes from rivalry and respect.
