Chapter 36 - Chapter 36: Fan Meet-and-Greet in the Train Compartment

A small girl hid behind Molly Weasley, watching her brothers obsequiously help Audrey with her luggage.

This was Ginny Weasley, the Weasley family's youngest daughter. She felt her brothers' behavior was a bit embarrassing. Miss Astley only had one trunk, yet all four of them were fighting to carry it.

"Oh, Miss Astley, your luggage is so light."

"No need to be so formal, you can just call me Audrey, George," Audrey replied. "My trunk only has a cat in it. He's been sleeping a lot recently, but I don't think he'd appreciate you shaking him like this."

George looked at Audrey in surprise: "We just introduced ourselves. How did you tell me and Fred apart?"

Fred and George were twins and looked extremely similar. Even their mother, Molly, sometimes couldn't tell them apart.

Seeing George obediently hold the trunk steady, Audrey smiled: "It's probably a woman's intuition?"

"But Mum doesn't even have that intuition..."

Fred, however, grasped the key point: "You're saying there's only a cat in your trunk? Where's the rest of your luggage?"

Audrey blinked: "Guess?"

Having many brothers created a warm, lively atmosphere.

Watching them look for a suitable seat while teasing their siblings, Audrey suddenly felt a little envious. It seemed this kind of lively family atmosphere wasn't bad.

... ...

Harry Potter had successfully moved his luggage into a compartment earlier with the help of the red-haired Weasley brothers. He then saw them immediately jump back off the train, chatting eagerly around a girl.

'This upperclassman is so pretty,' Harry thought, trying to hide behind the window curtain, carefully watching the Weasley family, afraid of being caught staring.

The train started moving. Their youngest sister ran alongside the train, crying and laughing, until the train left the station and she was out of sight.

The compartment door opened, and the youngest boy of the red-haired family walked in.

"Is there any space here?" he said dejectedly. "Everywhere else is full."

Harry shook his head, and Ron Weasley sat down.

"Oh, hi, I'm Ron Weasley."

"Hi, hello. I'm Harry, Harry Potter."

"Harry Potter! Are you really Harry Potter? Fred and George told me they saw you, I thought they were kidding me!"

Harry smiled: "I have to thank them for helping me put my luggage away!"

Ron, extremely excited, pointed at Harry's forehead. "So, you really, there..."

Harry lifted the hair on his forehead, revealing the lightning bolt scar.

"Wow. Did You-Know-Who really do that?"

"I don't know," Harry said. "I was too little, I don't remember at all."

Ron said: "Today is really my lucky day. I met Audrey Astley, and I'm sitting in the same compartment as Harry Potter!"

"Audrey Astley? The upperclassman you were all talking to before we boarded?"

Harry suddenly realized something and quickly explained: "Oh, I wasn't trying to eavesdrop, it's just that your brother helped me with my luggage, so I glanced over."

"It's fine, Harry. That's right, that was Audrey herself! She's much younger than her photos, and prettier too!"

Seeing Ron's casual attitude, Harry breathed a sigh of relief, but then his eyes widened. "Audrey Astley? The singer Audrey?"

Seeing Harry so surprised, Ron Weasley was very puzzled: "Miss Astley should be very famous in the Muggle world. You don't know her?"

Harry shook his head: "I've only heard her songs on an old radio. I've never seen her in person or in photos. My cousin has a lot of her posters, but he never lets me see them."

"Oh, that's really..."

Harry smiled and asked again: "Miss Astley is here, which means she, she's a..."

"Yes, that's right," Ron looked extremely happy. "She's a witch, even if she's starting school a bit late! When the news came out that she was a witch, our family celebrated for days!"

Harry's eyes lit up.

Ever since he was six, whenever he was upset, he liked to turn on the radio, and the incredibly popular Audrey's songs could always be heard.

The girl's singing soothed his soul. Unknowingly, this made him feel a sense of familial affection for Audrey.

And now, the unreachable Audrey Astley was about to become his classmate!

And she had also become a bond between him and Ron, so he wouldn't be without a common topic with his new friend!

"Harry! I know which compartment Audrey is in. Why don't we go see her together!"

Harry couldn't refuse Ron's suggestion. He nodded vigorously, "Okay, Ron! Let's go!"

The news that Audrey Astley was on the train was clearly more explosive than Harry Potter being on board.

The closer they got to Audrey's compartment, the more people there were.

Young wizards were constantly converging there.

From a distance, Ron heard his brother's voice, "I am Percy Weasley, a new Gryffindor prefect. Don't crowd here, maintain order!"

His red-haired head bobbed up and down, hoping more people would see his face, completely ignoring that his hair was a mess.

"Ron, is that your brother?"

Ron nodded. "Yeah, that's him. This is the first time I've ever hoped his 'dignity' would actually work..."

The young wizards pushed and shoved. Harry heard a blond, same-aged boy talking to two followers behind him.

"Goyle, Crabbe, that Audrey Astley really is a witch!"

"Yes, Draco. I always thought that was a rumor."

The boy named Draco said loudly: "Even though she's a witch, her birth seems to be lacking. But her songs aren't bad. She's worth getting to know."

Ron whispered in Harry's ear: "That must be a Slytherin. A fool obsessed with blood purity."

Harry was ignorant about everything in the wizarding world and just nodded blankly.

... ...

Audrey sat holding Jinhu, watching George and Fred at the door, struggling to keep the frenzied young wizards out.

Across from her sat a Black boy with dreadlocks. This was Lee Jordan, George and Fred's roommate at Hogwarts.

He sat stiffly, holding the lid of his box tightly, afraid the large spider inside would scare Audrey.

It was still noisy outside the compartment. The young wizards were very dissatisfied with the Weasley twins.

"We want to see Miss Astley!"

"Yeah! You have no right to stop us!"

Audrey spoke to the sweating George and Fred: "Do you two brave knights need help?"

"No! Audrey, we can handle it!"

"Yeah, if it gets really bad, we can throw Dungbombs into the crowd!"

"Fred, you still have some? How did Mum not confiscate them all?"

"I hid two in my pants!"

"Oh, Fred," George said in amazement, "You're so brave. If those Dungbombs went off in your pants, you'd become a school celebrity!"

"Yeah, maybe even more famous than Audrey!"

Audrey watched them, amused.

Although their words were light-hearted, pushing a crowd of young wizards out was no easy task—their hair was already a bird's nest. George currently had two of some young wizard's fingers stuck in his nostrils.

Audrey took out her wand and gave it a gentle wave.

Her compartment rapidly expanded, expanded, and expanded again, actually forming a large room that could hold over a hundred people.

George and Fred froze. The young wizards poured in.

The huge room was empty, with only Audrey and Lee Jordan still sitting in their seats—only the seats and the window remained unchanged, which looked a bit discordant.

George and Fred immediately ran to Audrey's side, shouting in surprise: "An Undetectable Extension Charm!"

"And an extremely powerful one!"

"But we're banned from off-campus magic, you..."

Audrey smiled: "I haven't enrolled yet!"

Because of that sentence, George and Fred firmly believed Audrey was their kind of person!

She was a rule-breaker!

Of course, this was only because they hadn't seen Audrey's true nature yet.

"Miss Astley! Can you give me an autograph?"

"Miss Astley, my whole family loves you!"

...

It must be known, the songs Audrey plagiarized were all huge hits from after 2010.

The musical concepts of those songs were a full twenty years ahead of the 1990s!

This huge cultural gap brought a considerable shock, which is why the entire world, including the wizarding world, blindly adored Audrey.

Not to mention, Audrey's voice was a "magical voice," second to none.

"Audrey Astley, I think we can get acquainted!"

An extremely young, arrogant voice rang out. The condescending attitude was very unpleasant.

Audrey looked through the crowd and saw a platinum-blond young wizard holding his head high, speaking to her with his nostrils.

"As a Muggle-born wizard, it should be an honor for you to know the heir of the Malfoy family!"

Audrey was exasperated. Looking at this little pipsqueak, and his two henchmen, her desire to mock him was exploding.

'Little cousin, do you want to think clearly before you speak?'

'Have you forgotten the dark history of being teased by your dear cousin when you were little?'
