The moment she stepped at the border, she saw Raziel waiting there. He'd been standing at the exact same spot, refusing to rest.
When he looked at her, he immediately ran towards her.
"You're okay…you're…" He stopped suddenly. "You look different. What did Sylthis do to you?"
Nyx took a long breath.
"Can we not do this here?" She glanced at the border where serpent guards were still watching them. "Please?"
Raziel was surprised but nodded. Without asking permission, he swept her into his arms and started walking towards the lion warriors who were waiting with horses.
"I've got you." Rezeil murmured in her hair. "Whatever happened in there, whatever changed….I've got you."
The words broke something in her. She buried her face in his chest. Behind them, at the border, Sylthis watched them leave with a satisfied smile.
"Just in three days I changed her entire worldview." They murmured to themselves. "I do excellent work."
One of the guards approached him nervously .
