Neil checked the shop, unfortunately he cannot buy a third builder just yet.
But his case was certainly infinitely better than almost all the other new lords.
Many had died and those who became lords would be resting in their territories for a single day given to them.
While Neil's personal strength, domain and familiar were progressing steadily.
It was almost like practicing from the mother's womb.
"Now, let's call the beasts and Phaged here." Stretching his body, Neil got to work.
He stretched his arms forward as a blood red liquid began to pour down but before it could even touch the ground, the liquid evaporated.
A red mist spread through the air, as a bloody scent travelled into the forest.
CRACK
ROAARRRR
BANG
Without wasting a moment, Neil and Magnar got ready for the battle as distant sound of beasts and trees breaking rang out.
"Don't interfere unless I can't handle them." Neil instructed as the small cub jumped off his shoulder and stood some distance away.
He needed more practice, and the creatures here were the perfect dummies.
The first to show up was a beast, a horned rabbit, the size of an average dog.
Yet still extremely agile, it was at the Silver class.
Before the beast could get closer, Neil spread a slippery fluid over the ground.
And the moment the horned rabbit stepped over the fluid, it actually slipped, the inertia pushed it forward.
BANG
Neil smashed the blade of the axe into its head, as blood splattered, its skull cracking instantly.
The hunt had just begun…
***
The hunt continued for several hours, only once he got tired, did Neil stop and allowed Magnar to take his place.
Then the group of six ate together, as Neil and the others tried new dishes while Magnar got his delicious gene points.
After what should be called dinner, Neil went for another round of hunting and then finally went to sleep.
Thankfully, his bedroom and mattress were quite comfortable and cozy.
…
Rolling over the comfortable bed, Neil woke up, it was already the third day of being a lord.
He quickly freshened up and then headed outside to have breakfast.
As he stepped out of his house, he noticed that the constant sound of construction had stopped.
The work of his two builders was truly magical.
It was unlike anything he had seen before, just a touch and all tools and raw materials seemed to come to life.
Walking towards the kitchen, Neil saw that the barrack was finally ready, able to house 100 subjects.
It had a large door, even higher than the core building and quite wide, while the building itself seemed like a small cottage.
"Good morning, lord, the barrack is finally complete." Rob said, as the two dwarves laughed heartily.
"Please check it out." Bob added, as he pulled open the door.
Neil stepped into the barrack and saw exactly one hundred rooms inside.
There were rooms of different sizes and the building was really enormous from inside.
The rooms even had beds, table, chair and other stuff.
There was a total of three floors, there were exactly twenty large rooms on the 1st floor, while remaining were present on the higher floors.
But one thing Neil understood from the looks was, he couldn't purchase the same type of fighter in all hundred slots.
But more than that, Neil was excited to check out the new section of the shop.
The next day he would be leaving this realm, so he had to prepare his best.
Firstly, he glanced at his status panel, they had killed more beasts and Phaged the previous day.
『
(Bronze): 48 / 1000
(Silver): 17 / 500
(Gold): 3 / 100
』
[Shards: 5580]
Some of the gene points were devoured by Magnar so he only got shards for them, but it was fine.
His familiar needed to grow as well.
Finally, it was time to see what the shop has to offer.
『
[ARMY]
(Giant: 5500 Shards – 2 hours)
→ slow, tanky, slightly dumb but super strong
(Elven Archer: 5500 Shards – 2 hours)
→ fast, precise, fragile
(Cloud Vulture: 3000 Shards – 2 hours)
→ long range scouting, silent glide, metallic beak
』
After reading the new panel, Neil was quite surprised, that army appeared really nice but why were they so damn expensive?
Neil suddenly felt poor, his small collection of shards could barely purchase one troop, and Neil so badly wanted to try them.
It was just so cool.
He glanced over the other items in the shop too, he needed to increase the defence of his domain with urgency.
It was just as much important as having an army, who knows what kind of creature he might face upon returning.
After going over all the items, Neil made his mind.
"Alright let's buy the walls and workshop." He mumbled, making the purchase.
[You have purchased the 120 Wall Fragments.]
[1200 Shards used.]
[You have purchased the Workshop.]
[1200 Shards used.]
[Shards: 3180]
Instantly, the two builders got to work as they received all the necessary materials.
It would take twelve hours to build the workshop and six hours to build the wall around the lawn's perimeter.
He asked Bob about it and got to know that it wouldn't be a simple wall that just stopped ground troops.
It will form a sort of barrier around his domain, which is why Neil absolutely needed that.
Once again his gaze landed over the three types of troops, initially he wanted to purchase the Giant.
But in this setting, the slow creature with so many trees around wouldn't be of much use, so Neil made his choice.
[You have purchased a Cloud Vulture.]
[Used 3000 shards.]
[Shards: 180]
"And I am dirt poor once again, anyway, I will have to wait two hours I guess."
One room inside the barrack closed, faint light coming out through the space between close doors.
A vulture would be perfect here, both to attack and locate, though Neil wasn't sure about the level of their strength.
In fact, there were many things he still had no clue about but one thing he knew for sure was…
"Haa It seems I am going to spend quite a lot of shards on food."
Instead of just waiting for two hours, Neil decided to try to hunt a few more creatures during this time.
Taking Magnar along, he walked out of his territory, then used the bloody scent to call them.
It wasn't long before the distant growling and roars sounded.
Taking out his axe and knife, which were already starting to look rough, he got ready to attack.
The kill count of his Magma Armor was also increasing steadily, though reaching 1000 was not going to be easy.
Within a minute, a bronze class Phaged that was previously a spiked boar charged forward.
Its skin was covered by pus and tiny insects.
Pushing himself forward, Neil sprinted and swung the axe, bringing it from top to the Phaged's head.
While his left hand moved agilely, slashing at its eyes.
Both strikes landed perfectly. The eyes of the boar were cut horizontally, before the axe tore through its skull and destroyed its brain.
[You have killed a 1st Origin Bronze Class Phaged spiked boar.]
"Hoo I guess the bronze ones are no challenge now, but silver ones could still be tricky if they are in big groups."
Neil mumbled as he collected the loot and got ready to fight the next one.
While Magnar slept peacefully on a small stone not far away.
…
After a little over two hours had passed, Neil hurriedly returned to his domain, excited to see his first troop.
CRIEEEEKKK!
As he stepped into his domain, he heard the clear shrieking noise.
Then getting near the kitchen, he finally saw the creature which had scared off the chef duo, Fay and Ray.
And then his gaze landed over his first Mythic Class Troop.
