Chapter Nine:
Caleb's POV-
I was headed to my beta's office to talk about yesterday as I have been packed with stuff. I walked over and opened the door. I saw him speaking to my gamma and I nodded to my gamma meaning he should leave. He bowed and left.
I walked in and went to sit on a chair facing him. I coughed but he pretended like he hadn't seen or heard me. Lucien has been my best friend since I can remember and I really didn't have it in me right now to use my Alpha's tone on him.
I sighed. "Can you just talk to me and hear me out? Please?" He finally looked up.
"You tried to kill me Caleb. What do you want me to say? Thank you? Or what?"
"I'm sorry, you know that wasn't me. It was Adam. I was just so irritated and angry."
"You think it's just that? You came in earlier and ordered us all to fight you? You could've killed or seriously injured one of us!"
I paused remembering it. Okay damage control now. "Okay my bad, I was just so pissed because my mate rejected I and Adam. He was furious and hurt and tried to get out. It took me a lot of control to keep him in check and I was angry and just wanted a spar match."
He exhaled deeply. "Fine then. You're the Alpha." He mocked and resumed looking at his notes.
"Can you not be that way right no-" I was about to continue talking when someone burst in through the door. I growled lowly and turned to look at the person who barged in without knocking.
It was my gamma, Daniel. He quickly bowed. "Al-Alpha the maid that was attending to the guest went to your room to serve her food and saw that she wasn't it it." He said.
I stood up. "Where'd she go? Did someone take her anywhere? Was it the council? Where are they now?" I was about rushing to where he was by the door.
"No, no one ordered for her. She's escaping Caleb."
Before he finished, I had dashed out of the room and told him to alert the guards at the gate and by the walls surrounding the pack.
I went towards my room and sniffed the air around it inhaling deeply. I sighed in content and turned around going through some backdoors. Only some superiors knew the backdoors or shortcuts to get around any where in the pack.
I took one and ran to the front and stopped. Directly facing her.
"Going somewhere, Thorn?" I asked. Her breath hitched as she froze.
I smirked and stepped forward as she took a step back. I took another forward and she took another back. We kept repeating this cycle until he back was behind a wall. I trapped her in between my hands.
"The audacity and courage you have to actually try and leave this place. I doubt you could have succeeded because the wall you were about to jump over only has a pit at the bottom. You'd have been fed to well, whatever is at the bottom."
She gulped and looked ahead as if communicating and I knew she was communicating with her wolf. I held her chin and smirked when she frowned.
Her lips looks so plush and kissable. Her scent is driving me fucking nuts. How does the bond still have this much hold on me? I brought my face down to her neck and bragged in deeply. Nuzzling it. She moaned out loud.
Her moan drove me more crazy. I kissed her neck and used my tongue to slide over it. She shivered and bit her lip to suppress her moan.
I brought one of my hands that was trapping her on the wall to her waist and squeezed it. The sparks flew more from where my hand brushed over her soft skin. She was wearing a cropped top.
She took her hands to my hair yanking my head more into her neck. I grunted in satisfaction when she buried her face in mine too.
I was going harder by the minute. I sucked on her neck making her moan more. She but her lips to suppress it. Her breast was tightly pressed against my chest and it was as soft as a pillow.
I was losing my mind. She's my enemy. I'm sure my parents and everyone who died because of her pack must be frowning in their graves at me. I wanted to pull away but I couldn't.
She yanked her hair from her neck. And before I could make any sound or moves in disapproval, she kneed me. Very hard. I grunted and looked up. She had slipped and started running. She couldn't get anywhere without taking out my guards but she has to pay for kneeing me.
I immediately took after her and got into her front. She threw punches and kicks at me but I avoided it and gave her a punch to her stomach. She whimpered and Adam growled in my head. We kept throwing punches and kicks but none of her hits came in contact with me. I kept defending against her and hitting her vital points with my punches and kicks.
"You'll hurt her." Adam yelled in my head but I payed no attention to him.
She looked weak and I was about to knock her out when Daniel yelled in my head telling me that my grandfather's hand moved and he was showing signs of waking up.
I quickly sprinted towards the pack hospital fast. I mind linked him back telling him to escort Hazel back to her room.
I quickly got to the hospital, took the elevator and went over to his room. The doctors and nurses were running around. I grabbed one of them and asked where my grandfather was as he wasn't in his normal room.
"Alpha he's been transferred to another room. Please follow me." She said and I followed her.
