"Who are you texting? If it's Shinobu, tell her we're not playing her games anymore." Giyuu simply showed him the screen, which was a picture of their previous maid day.
"Just showing our memories to Genya. He wants more blackmail material."
Sanemi nearly dropped the spatula. "Delete that right now! And why is he involved in this mess?" Giyuu shrugged innocently. "He's my partner in crime. Plus, he thinks you look cute in that dress." Sanemi growled and turned off the stove. "I'm going to kill both of you. And then myself." The smell of breakfast filled the room as Sanemi served their plates.
"Eat fast. We need to get to school before anyone sees us together like this."
He sat down with a heavy sigh, already dreading the day ahead. Sanemi walk into the bathroom to make himself ready and Giyuu started to think about them. Despite their constant bickering, they were indeed dating. Sanemi secretly enjoyed these moments of domesticity, though he'd never admit it.
Giyuu leaned over to steal a bite of Sanemi's food. Then the bathroom door opened and Sanemi seen everything but Giyuu didn't flinch.
"You know, you could just say you like me."
Sanemi's face turned red. "Shut up and eat your breakfast, Tomioka." Giyuu laughed softly, satisfied with the reaction. He reached for Sanemi's hand under the table.
"By the way, I have another date planned for us tonight. No more maid stuff."
Sanemi tensed but didn't pull away.
"Where?" Giyuu grinned mischievously.
"It's a surprise. Wear something nice. And no complaints about the venue this time."
Sanemi grumbled but nodded, remembering their last 'nice' date at an aquarium. They both realized they were late. Sanemi stood up quickly.
"Great. Now we're going to be late and everyone will stare at us."
He grabbed his bag and headed for the door, while Giyuu finished his last bite at a leisurely pace. Outside, the hallway was mostly empty. A few students glanced their way, whispering. Sanemi's ears turned pink.*l
"I'm walking ahead. Don't follow too close."
Giyuu jogged to catch up.
"Too late for that. We're roommates, remember? And we're already a couple." They reached their classroom. Shinobu was already at her desk, smirking at them knowingly. She had a package in her hands.
"Good morning lovebirds! I have something special for today's class."
Sanemi froze, recognizing that look in her eyes. "No. No more gifts. Absolutely not." Shinobu stood up and approached them with a devilish smile.
"But it's a matching couple's activity! How sweet."
She opened the package to reveal... more maid costumes. One in Sanemi's size, and one with cat ears. Giyuu's eyes lit up while Sanemi's face turned to stone.
The class started murmuring excitedly. Tengen, who was passing by, burst out laughing. "Hell yeah! More drama! This is better than any play!" Sanemi grabbed Giyuu's arm and hissed. "This is your fault. You and your stupid dress fetish." Giyuu winked at him.
"At least we can match this time. You'll look adorable with the cat ears."
Sanemi looked ready to murder someone, preferably Shinobu and then Giyuu. Their teacher, Urokodaki, walked in, noticed the tension and the package. He sighed heavily. "Again, Shinobu? Sanemi, Tomioka, please take your seats. Class begins now."
Shinobu pouted but placed the costumes under her desk, clearly planning to use them later. Sanemi dragged Giyuu to their seats, glaring daggers at Shinobu. During the lesson, Giyuu kept doodling cat ears on Sanemi's notes, making little hearts around them. Sanemi scribbled over them angrily but secretly kept one heart intact. *Lunch break arrived. Giyuu suggested they eat together, away from prying eyes.
"The roof is empty. We can talk about tonight." Sanemi hesitated, then nodded. "Fine. But if anyone follows us, I'm pushing you off." On the roof, Giyuu sat cross-legged and pulled out bento boxes.
"I made your favorite. And no, there's no cat food in it." Sanemi sat down, looking at the bento suspiciously.
"Better not be. Last time you tried that."
He opened it and saw normal food, but then noticed a tiny cat charm hidden in the rice. "Thanks...now stop teasing me." Giyuu smiled softly, his usual teasing tone replaced with genuine affection.
"I can't help it. You're too cute when you're mad. Plus, I like seeing you wear what I give you." He reached over to fix Sanemi's collar, which had gotten messy during the morning rush. Sanemi didn't pull away from the touch, but his ears turned red again. "You're impossible. So where are we going tonight? And don't say it's another stupid couple activity." Giyuu leaned back, looking up at the sky. "It's a secret garden I found. Just us and the stars. No costumes required... this time." Sanemi actually looked intrigued for a moment before masking it with indifference.
"Better not be some cliché romantic spot. I hate clichés." Giyuu chuckled and took a bite of his food. "It's special. Trust me. And maybe you'll even admit you like spending time with me." The bell rang, signaling the end of lunch. Giyuu stood up and offered his hand to Sanemi. "Meet me at the school gate after classes. Wear something comfortable." Sanemi stood up on his own, but glanced at Giyuu's hand briefly.
"Whatever. Just don't make me regret this." The rest of the day passed slowly. Giyuu was more attentive in class, while Sanemi kept checking his phone. The garden location remained a mystery to him.
Shinobu tried to get details during cleaning duty but was met with Giyuu's infuriating smile and "secret." As the final bell rang, Sanemi waited by the gate, arms crossed and foot tapping impatiently. He saw Giyuu approaching with a small backpack.
"Let's go before Shinobu follows us."
Giyuu took his hand naturally this time, leading him away from school grounds. They walked through a quiet neighborhood, past cherry blossom trees, until they reached a hidden path leading uphill.
"Almost there. It's worth the climb."
Sanemi grumbled but didn't let go of Giyuu's hand. The path became steeper, and the city lights started to twinkle below them. Finally, they reached the top where a small clearing revealed a garden filled with glowing fireflies and moonflowers. A blanket was already spread out with a small basket. Giyuu had prepared tea and snacks. "Welcome to my secret spot. No one else knows about it." Sanemi's eyes widened slightly at the serene view, but he quickly composed himself. "It's... not bad. The bugs are annoying though." Giyuu sat down and patted the spot next to him.
