Chapter 18 - Fool's Chariot

I've repeated the same hour for an uncountable amount of times. I looked at the clock and didn't even register the time of day. Even though it was the same day, every loop had a different outcome. On the first one I was fed food and given a beautiful bond with my twin sister. The second one was weird, as if her personality was completely different. The second loop she was quiet and distant, watching my every move like I was a predator. The third one was an interesting one, I don't know exactly what happened but it was interesting.

Corbin walked up to me with a deck of tarot cards in her hand. "I don't know how to play by the way." I said with my eyes sagging all the way to my twisted expression. "Good thing we're not playing Tarot Games." She jumped on top of my bed, which caused us both to bounce up. And with the contact between our butts and the bed's sheets, she threw me a box of cards. "We're gonna play The Fool's Chariot." I tilted my head and she grabbed onto my hands quickly and tightly. "I made it myself." She said with her plump black lips.

"Pull out the card "The Fool."" I slowly pulled out "The Fool" from the thick deck. "What will you name him?" I struggled…not because of a lack of creativity but the lack of a point. Why would I name something so meaningless? "Uhm…okay, I guess…Pandu…Pandu Vyasa." I sat my card down and waited for Corbin's response. She leaned back with excitement and put down her deck of cards. "Okay, we're gonna do a practice game so that you can get the rules of the game." Her lips kept getting wider and wider as she placed down 21 cards. "Okay so you're gonna have to find a way to get "Pandu Vyasa" through each of these obstacles as he goes on a journey." I looked at the first card which was "The Magician."

Why am I doing this? God this is such a waste of time. I need to find a way out of here. "Go ahead, you're responsible for everything. This is your story." Corbin said. "Ryaha, this might be my story but who's the author?" "I don't even think they are aware of it themselves. I mean it takes a madman to look at himself from above." Corbin said. "So how do I work this? Do I just grab onto a card and say a role I want it to have in Vyasa's story?" I said with a sly smirk as I tapped each card. "First you must understand each card's meaning, but since this is your first time. You choose…it's up to you what they mean to your story." Corbin said as she played with her fingers. "Whatever you say." I chuckled.

I went through each card bullshitting through each card. Until finally I reached "The Chariot" and before I could even reach for it, Corbin snatched it and twisted it around as she looked at it. "It's easy to say you want something when you lack the power to act, to say you're against something when you lack the guts to go against it, to die a tragic death when there is no point in living." She crawled towards me slowly, her lips coming closer to mine before tapping my lips with her finger. "Corbin, your fool has died." I don't even remember his name so it doesn't even matter.

She pulled out her deck from her bra and laid it onto the bed. She clapped her hands on both sides of her cheeks and screamed "NOW LET'S PLAY!" She struck her hand in the air and pushed her chest out and placed her other hand on her back. "WHAT WILL YOU NAME YOUR CHARACTER?!" She yelled. "Hmm, Chloe Ansel." I said with a smirk, now that I have an opponent I have to win! "What will you name yours?" She lowered her hands and stared at her card. "Nothing. They have no identity, only purpose."
