Honestly, Eugene knew why he felt guilty. After all, his lunch appointment happened to be with someone who used to be his crush.
Which was also weird because...so what? It wasn't as if he was going out with Arthur...
So why did he feel guilty? Aarrgh! Eugene wanted to scream and roll around the hallway in frustration. He didn't know if it was because he knew Arthur had feelings for him, or because he was afraid Hannah would be upset at him.
"Gabe!"
Phew...no time to lament. It would also be weird if he avoided his old friend just because he used to have one-sided feelings for the man, right? If he talked about guilt, he also felt guilty about ghosting his old friends after he manifested.
"Eugene," he said after taking a deep breath. "I go by Eugene, now."
"Ah, right--your middle name, right? Sorry about that, Gene," Eliott corrected himself right away, grinning while scratching his head.
