Perhaps because the world wanted to let Ian rest after such an ordeal, the weather kept telling them to stay inside. From the heavy pour in the morning to the drizzle in the afternoon, it settled into a moderate shower by the evening.
It was the perfect weather to lounge in the warm living room, wrapped in a blanket, watching family movies while listening to the children giving a running commentary. There was a stream of warm drinks, cookies, and bread pudding to satisfy them until they got drowsy.
And the best part? It was sunny and beautiful the next day.
"Waaah!" Hannah ran around the backyard, releasing the pent-up energy from doing nothing but playing games and watching movies the previous day. "Grandpapa! Grandaunt! Let's go for a walk!"
"A walk..."
"There's a playground over there, if we walk straaaight and turn, umm--" Hannah paused as she looked at her hands, staring at the shape of her thumb and forefinger, "--L, Left!"
