Fiora got up from her bed and began rummaging through every wooden box and item in the cave.
But she couldn't find what she was looking for. No torch. No lamp. Nothing that could provide light.
By the time she considered stepping outside to ask a neighbor, the sun had already fully set, and the cave sank into complete darkness.
Even if she couldn't truly die, Fiora was still afraid of the dark. In the end, she chose to lie back down.
"I'll look for Rivo or Brakka tomorrow and ask about lighting," she murmured. "They're probably the only ones willing to talk to me now."
In the darkness, loneliness wrapped around her.
She felt awkward around Valeo, yet strangely enough, she wished he were here with her now.
Unfortunately, Valeo had gone on a long hunt. He wouldn't return for several days.
As Fiora lay there lamenting her solitude, a faint buzzing reached her ears.
Then came the bites.
Her legs, arms, and face were attacked by mosquitoes.
