Chapter 21 - The Homecoming Challenge

The night air was heavy with tension as Hwang Siyeok walked down the dimly lit street behind Huweol High. Normally, the route home was quiet, peaceful—but tonight, the silence was broken by low murmurs and harsh laughter.

Ahead, a cluster of figures emerged from the shadows. Gangsters, mafia members, and other powerful individuals, each radiating an intimidating presence. Their eyes locked onto him with malicious intent.

"Well, well… what do we have here?" one sneered, stepping forward. "A little student thinks he can walk home safely? You're in the wrong place, kid."

Another laughed, cracking his knuckles. "I bet you're fast… but can you handle us?"

Hwang Siyeok slowed his pace, calm as ever, and set his bag down beside him. His green eyes scanned each opponent, analyzing every muscle, every twitch, every potential move. Not a single expression went unnoticed.

"You want me to fight?" he asked, his voice low and measured, almost casual. "Sure. If that's what you need."

The gangsters sneered, circling him like predators. But the moment they tried to strike, reality warped around them. Hwang Siyeok moved.

It wasn't ordinary speed—it was beyond perception. Faster than light in execution, every step precise, every strike calculated. The first gangster lunged, but Hwang Siyeok sidestepped with effortless grace, his hand flashing out to tap the man's chest. One strike, and the man was flat on the ground, unconscious.

The others attacked in unison, but it was futile. Hwang Siyeok's reflexes were perfect, his endurance limitless, his movements impossible to predict. Every attempt to read him failed. He dispatched them one by one, strikes clean, efficient, and final—without exerting unnecessary effort.

Some tried to coordinate, others tried brute force—but even the strongest, most powerful opponents fell before a single calculated move. None could land a hit. None could comprehend his speed, his precision, or the depth of his combat mastery.

Within moments, the entire street was silent. The powerful gangsters and mafia members lay scattered, defeated without a single display of anger or haste from Hwang Siyeok. His breathing remained steady. Calm. Controlled.

He picked up his bag, adjusted his shirt, and continued walking. The night returned to quiet, the shadows swallowing the remnants of those who had dared challenge him. Not a single person fully understood what had happened—they could only whisper stories of the mysterious teenager who moved faster than thought, stronger than anyone, and remained entirely human.

Shy Suya, watching from the edge of the street, could only stare in awe. She knew, somehow, that Hwang Siyeok had done something impossible—but she also knew she would never fully grasp it.

And Hwang Siyeok? He walked home as if nothing had happened, the calmest figure in a city that had just witnessed the impossible.
