Chapter 8 - Chapter 8:The Trap ||

Bright's eyes locked onto Victor's, his heart racing with anger. He knew he had to get out of there, and fast.

"What's going on, Victor?" Bright asked, his voice firm despite the pain.

Victor smiled, his eyes glinning with amusement. "You're just in time to see the final act, Bright," he said. "You're going to die, and Melach is going to get everything he wants."

Clair's eyes widened in fear, her voice shaking. "No, Bright, don't listen to him," she said.

Bright's eyes locked onto Clair's, his expression calm. "Don't worry, Clair," he said. "We'll get out of this."

But as he looked back at Victor, he saw something that made his heart skip a beat. Victor's eyes were cold, and his smile was sinister.

"You're working with Melach?" Bright asked, his voice barely above a whisper.

Victor's smile grew wider. "I'm not working with Melach, Bright," he said. "I'm using him. And you're going to help me take him down."

Bright's eyes narrowed, his mind racing with questions. What was Victor playing at?

And then, it clicked. Victor was playing a long game. He was using Bright to get to Melach, and he was using Melach to get to the top.

"Sophia, what have you done?" Bright asked, his voice low.

Sophia's eyes dropped, her expression guilty. "I had to do it, Bright," she said. "I had to protect myself."

Victor laughed, his eyes glinning with amusement. "Sophia's a clever girl, Bright," he said. "She knows how to play the game."

Bright's eyes locked onto Victor's, his heart racing with anger. He knew he had to get out of there, and fast.

"Let's do this," Bright said, his voice firm.

Victor smiled, his eyes glinning with amusement. "Let's do it," he said.

But just as Victor's men were about to attack, a loud explosion shook the room, and the walls began to crumble.

"What the...?" Victor's eyes widened in shock.

Bright's eyes locked onto Clair's, his expression calm. "It's time to go," he said.

Together, they made a break for the door, dodging bullets and leaping over obstacles.

As they emerged from the building, Bright's eyes scanned the surroundings. The streets were empty, and the city was quiet.

"Where are we?" Clair asked, her voice shaking.

Bright's eyes locked onto hers, his expression serious. "We're in the middle of nowhere," he said. "And we have to get out of here, fast."

But as they turned to run, they were met with a sight that made their hearts skip a beat.

A figure was standing in the shadows, a gun trained on Victor's men.

"Looks like we've got some backup," Bright said, his voice low.

The figure stepped forward, and Bright's eyes widened in shock.

It was Alex, the hacker who had helped him take down Melach's men.

"Alex, what are you doing here?" Bright asked, his voice barely above a whisper.

Alex smiled, his eyes glinning with amusement. "I'm here to help, Bright," he said. "Victor's been playing a long game, and it's time to take him down."

Bright's eyes locked onto Alex's, his heart racing with anticipation. What was Victor's game? And how was Alex involved?

"What's going on, Alex?" Bright asked, his voice firm.

Alex's expression turned serious. "Victor's been working with Melach, but he's also been working against him," he said. "He's been using Melach to get to the top, and he's been using you to get to Melach."

Bright's eyes widened in shock. "What do you mean?" he asked.

Alex's eyes locked onto Bright's, his expression grim. "I mean that Victor's been playing both sides against each other," he said. "And you're the key to taking him down."

Bright's mind was racing. What was he supposed to do?

But before he could ask, Alex handed him a gun.

"It's time to take Victor down, Bright," he said. "Are you ready?"

Bright's eyes locked onto Alex's, his heart racing with anticipation. He was ready.

Together, they charged back into the building, ready to take on Victor and his men.

The battle was about to begin, and only one side would emerge victorious.

As they fought their way through the building, Bright's eyes locked onto Victor's. Victor's expression was cold, and his eyes were dead.

"You should have stayed out of this, Bright," Victor said, his voice low.

Bright smiled, his eyes glinning with amusement. "I'm not going anywhere, Victor," he said. "You're going down."

Victor's eyes narrowed, and he raised his gun.

But Bright was ready. He dodged Victor's shot, and he fired back.

The sound of gunfire echoed through the building, and Bright's heart was racing with excitement.

He had Victor right where he wanted him.

Victor's men were closing in, and Bright knew he had to think fast. He spotted a window on the other side of the room, and he knew it was their only chance.

"Clair, follow me!" he shouted, grabbing her hand and pulling her towards the window.

They jumped out of the window, landing hard on the ground below. Bright's ankle gave way, and he cried out in pain.

Clair helped him up, and they started to run. But Victor's men were closing in, and they knew they wouldn't make it far.

That's when Bright saw it. A car, parked on the side of the road. It was their only chance.

"Get in!" he shouted, pulling Clair towards the car.

They jumped in, and Bright started the engine. He floored it, and the car shot forward, leaving Victor's men in the dust.

As they drove, Bright's eyes locked onto Clair's. "We need to get out of here," he said. "We need to get to a safe place."

Clair nodded, her eyes scanning the surroundings. "I know a place," she said.

Bright's eyes locked onto hers, his expression serious. "Take me there," he said.

Clair nodded, and she directed him to a small, secluded house on the outskirts of town.

They pulled up to the house, and Bright's eyes scanned the surroundings. It was quiet, and it was safe.

For now, they were safe.

But Bright knew that Victor wouldn't give up easily. He would keep coming, and Bright would have to be ready.

The battle was far from over.

To be continued...
