The moment Rowan threw open the door, he saw the horrifying scene: Kai, standing hysterical, and Lucian, collapsed on the floor, his shirt torn away. Seeing the sheer terror in Lucian's eyes, Rowan acted instantly. He charged forward and delivered a hard kick to Kai's back.
Kai let out a guttural sound and spun around, attempting to throw a punch, but Rowan dodged the wild swing and landed a brutal punch directly on Kai's face. The impact was enough. Kai's eyes rolled back, and he fell instantly unconscious.
"No! No, Rowan!" Lucian cried, trying to scramble up and away from the fight.
Rowan slipped the jacket onto Lucian, shielding him, and gently took his hand, dragging him toward the door. "Ahhh, what are you thinking now? Come, we have to go!" Rowan's voice was dangerously low, trembling with cold rage.
Lucian stopped, pulling his hand free. "No. I can't go like this. We should help Kai!"
"No! Are you stupid!?" Rowan exploded, his control snapping. "Ahhh, don't you get it? He totally lost his mind! He's crazy now! We can't tolerate this! If you hadn't stopped me just now, I would have killed him!" Rowan's chest heaved.
Lucian's hand moved instantly, delivering a sharp, hard slap across Rowan's face. The sound cracked through the silence.
"Kill!? Who gives you permission to kill him!?" Lucian demanded, his voice trembling but fierce.
"Lucian, what are you telling me!?" Rowan asked, stunned, clutching his cheek.
"If I wanted him dead, he would have been dead months ago! I have struggled hard to save him! And it's not the first time at all," Lucian confessed, his voice breaking. "But yet, I know he'll going to be like this again, but yet, I'll try to save him until he gets cured from this! I will help him!"
"Not first time at all?" Rowan repeated Lucian's words, the terror and exhaustion in Lucian's face finally clicking into painful understanding. He realized the sheer burden Lucian had carried alone.
Lucian lunged forward, throwing his arms around Rowan's waist and burying his face into Rowan's shoulder. He cried with deep, agonizing sobs.
"What should I do? What should I do! Now, tell me, did you get it why I kept falling in love with him? Did you get it why it's so hard to leave him? Because I already gave myself to him!!!" Lucian's final confession was wracked with pain, the words wrenched from his soul.
Rowan hugged him back tightly, his own eyes burning with fury and pity. "Ohhhh, it's too much. I'm sorry you're struggling very much. It's okay. It's okay. I'll be with you."
"Please, can we get him to the hospital?" Lucian begged, muffled against Rowan's shoulder.
"Hmm," Rowan nodded, still consumed by silent fury toward Kai, yet agreeing for Lucian's sake.
Rowan, with grim resolve, managed to dress Kai in the discarded clothes and carried him toward the car. Lucian drove them to the hospital.
When Dr. Sebastian saw Rowan carrying the unconscious Kai, he rushed over. He looked at Lucian's face—his terror, exhaustion, and physical strain—and it showed the exact same look he had six months ago.
"Oh, Lucian, are you fine?" Sebastian began, trying to speak to him gently.
Suddenly, Lucian collapsed onto the floor, his body finally giving out.
"Ohh, he's so weak! Doctors!" Sebastian shouted, calling the nurse. They quickly administered a glucose IV to Lucian.
Rowan returned moments later with a cup of fresh pomegranate juice. Lucian was already sitting up. "Hmm, take a sip," Rowan urged, holding the cup to Lucian's lips.
Lucian attempted to take a sip, but a sudden, sharp pain in his hip made him wince and gasp. "Ahhhhh!"
"What happened?" Rowan asked, his eyes immediately darkening with suspicion.
Lucian kept his head lowered, unable to meet his gaze.
"Rowan asked, "Did he... did he force you too much?" Lucian remained silent, his head still bowed in shame and pain. Rowan's anger toward Kai turned into a deep, cold fury.
Dr. Sebastian returned to them. "Kai is in treatment. I guess he needs therapy again."
"Doctor, but Kai won't agree to go there!" Lucian insisted, worried.
"But he should have to!" Sebastian countered firmly. "Did you remember what happened last time? I suggested you have to take him to therapy. After that, he managed himself, got control, and his consciousness came back. Medicine is slow and not enough for severe mental treatment. Kai needs therapy." Sebastian paused, his eyes softening as he looked at Lucian.
"Really, Lucian, you've been through too much. Let him be. Let him take care of himself. If he can't, tell me to admit him here as fast as you can," the Doctor advised.
"Moreover," Sebastian continued in a low voice, "As per your mother's support, you're doing all this. If your father finds out you're going through this just because of someone... he'll be angry with both me and you. And he will never spare Kai again if he finds out what he did to you. Then, he himself will kill Kai at any chance."
Sebastian gave a stern look and left the room.
