Chapter 17 - Chapter 17: Could Projection… Project the Moon? I Want It.

Asia wore Izumi's clothes—They were clearly too big for her, sleeves drooping, collar loose—and she fidgeted in embarrassment the whole time.

Seeing that, Izumi realized one thing:

Tonight, talking with her was impossible.

No girl would calmly chat with the guy whose oversized clothes she was currently drowning in.

So he gently suggested:

"Asia, your room is ready—second room on the second floor. It's right next to mine.""You should rest for now. We can talk about the rest tomorrow.""And I'll wash your clothes later."

The moment he said wash, Asia shot upright like a startled cat.

Then she spun toward the bathroom and blurted:

"N-No! I—I'll… I'll wash them myself!""I can't trouble Izumi-kun!"

And she bolted back into the bathroom.

There was no way she could let him wash her clothes.Absolutely impossible.Far too embarrassing. Some things a girl had to handle herself.

Izumi blinked.

Then laughed.

Right—this world wasn't his old one.

In his past life, there were girls who would have gladly asked him to wash their laundry every day.

But here? These 2D-born heroines were completely different.

He smacked his lips lightly.

As expected… the 2D world is the best.A true lifelong otaku's sentiment.

Fortunately, he'd never had a girlfriend in his previous life.

Izumi waited patiently.

Meanwhile, Asia rushed into the bathroom and immediately began scrubbing her clothes by hand.

Because—She didn't know how to use a washing machine.

After a long while with no sign of her, Izumi grew curious and went upstairs.

"Asia? What are you doing?"

The bathroom door wasn't closed, and when he peeked inside, Asia was crouched on the tiles, earnestly scrubbing her clothes like someone living in a historical drama.

Izumi stared.

Then sighed.

"Asia… why aren't you using the washing machine?""Why are you washing them by hand?"

Asia's shoulders slumped.

"…Because… I don't know how."

Izumi pinched the bridge of his nose.

Was she from the Middle Ages!?

He couldn't even muster the energy to complain.

He shooed her out of the bathroom, ignoring her beet-red face, tossed the clothes straight into the washing machine, and started it up.

Then he turned to her:

"Go rest. When Megumi comes tomorrow, we'll deal with everything else.""And don't worry—this isn't handwashing, so it's not embarrassing at all."

He explained seriously.

And because he said it seriously—Asia simply blinked, nodded in confusion, and wandered back to her room.

Izumi watched her go and sighed again.

What a troublesome kid…

Or maybe this was simply how girls in this world were.

After muttering complaints internally, he washed up, handled a few chores, then returned to his room.

He wanted to study his abilities.

Recently, he'd discovered something shocking:

His projection skills were far stronger than he thought.

In fact, the weapons he "projected" weren't being recreated—They were being pulled directly out of Unlimited Blade Works.

He had never actually used UBW, so subconsciously he assumed everything he created was purely projection.

And the anti-magic weakness?Irrelevant now—The Third Magic had upgraded his magical energy far beyond such limitations.

He hadn't studied his abilities deeply enough. So now, he focused.

He had a hunch—A major battle was approaching.

He didn't know how UBW would function in this world.Would it drag people inside like Emiya's?Or would it manifest directly in the real world?

The laws of this world were different.

Anything could happen.

He took a breath and intoned the incantation:

"I am the bone of my sword."

At his words, space warped.Magic surged out of him.

In the next instant—

Golden lights filled the room, lines of magical circuits flaring, forming countless blades.

Izumi immediately stopped.

He saw what he needed to see.

In this world, Unlimited Blade Works didn't transport him to a separate inner world.

Instead—It summoned the contents of UBW directly into reality.

Even the giant gears would appear if he kept chanting.

If he continued, the entire area would be filled with swords.

"I knew it… totally different."

"It doesn't drag people inside. It just brings everything out."

"Is this a nerf or a buff?"

"Summoning my entire world into reality… that's kind of badass."

He dispelled the swords.

Overall—not bad.

Losing the "domain pull" effect hurt a little, but…

Summoning dozens of swords in the real world that enemies couldn't touch while he freely wielded them?

That was extremely flashy.

He wasn't sure if this path of power was supposed to make him cooler—or push him deeper into chuuni territory.

But something felt strange.

His projection and UBW… felt similar to Actualized Thought.

If he kept upgrading projection…Would it evolve into True Materialization?

Actualized Thought could materialize anything, even dropping the freaking moon.

If that was possible—

Could projection eventually summon meteorites?Weapons from other universes?Or maybe…

Izumi froze.

Could he… create a 2D waifu?

He wanted it.More than anything.
