After such a major incident, everyone naturally became swamped with follow-up work.Classes at Kuoh Academy were suspended for several days—well, considering half the school buildings were blown up, repairs were going to take time.
Which meant Izumi could finally rest at home properly.
Izumi was escorted back to his room, Asia continuing to use her Sacred Gear to ease his pain while Megumi descended to the kitchen to prepare food for him.
For the next few days, taking care of him would essentially fall to Megumi.
Asia sat at the bedside, her expression filled with pity as she gently healed him with that tender, saint-like smile of hers.
Seeing her worried eyes, Izumi sighed helplessly.
"Asia, I'm fine. Really. A couple days of rest and I'll be back to normal."
He forced a smile.
"You don't have to keep healing me. It barely hurts anymore."
Asia immediately shook her head.
"That won't do. Until Izumi-sama is fully recovered, I must continue healing you."
Her tone was firm—surprisingly firm for Asia.
Watching his pained expression earlier had clearly shaken her. She simply couldn't stop.
Izumi sighed again.
"All right, all right. Just don't tire yourself out."
Seeing that he wasn't rejecting her anymore, Asia nodded hurriedly, relieved.
Ignoring the continued healing beams bathing his body, Izumi opened his system interface.
Five Holy Swords. One physical artifact. Surely the system was going to give him something good this time, right?
He really had gotten scammed earlier.Seriously—why didn't the system warn him about the side effects of the Transcender Experience Card?!
If that was what one card did to him, wouldn't the more terrifying one kill him outright?!
Izumi gritted his teeth. He really wanted to curse.
Still, sulking wouldn't change anything. So he opened the system.
And then—
A dialog box popped up.
[System Upgrade Available][Yes] [No]
System… upgrade?
Izumi didn't hesitate and clicked Yes.
A flash of white light washed over the interface, and the entire system layout changed.
At the same time, the items he had offered as sacrifices earlier dropped out of the void like gacha results before sliding neatly into a new "inventory pouch" in the upgraded interface.
Izumi raised an eyebrow.
A system storage space?
Curiosity piqued, he willed it open.
Inside was everything he'd just obtained.
Looks like the system unlocked a whole suite of new functions after upgrading.
But Izumi set that aside for later. What mattered were the rewards themselves.
System Rewards
[Hōrai Physique] – A true immortal body. Grants eternal life. As long as one drop of blood remains, resurrection is possible.
[Transposition Magecraft] – Allows the user to swap targets, positions, even intangible concepts like mana, souls, or mental energy.
[Curse Bullet] – A Northern European magecraft technique. Aim with your finger to inflict a curse on the target.
[Flight Magic] – Allows the user to ignore gravity and freely fly.
[Einzbern Alchemy] – Grants the ability to construct homunculi and perform advanced alchemy.
[Spear That Shines at the End] – Anti-City Noble Phantasm, Rank A++.
Izumi blinked.
What a haul.
Not only did the system upgrade, it showered him with insane abilities.
He didn't even hesitate—he immediately used everything.
The moment the Hōrai Physique activated, the lingering pain vanished. The bone-deep agony from earlier was gone like it never existed.
He could even feel his life force surging, endlessly regenerating.
He had become a true immortal—undying, unending.
He wasn't sure if anything in this world could kill him now, but probably not.
A flood of new knowledge then burst into his mind—Transposition Magecraft, the Curse Bullet, Flight Magic, Einzbern-style alchemy…
His overall combat power rose again. Not drastically, but decisively.
Especially Transposition Magecraft. That spell alone had practically carried its caster to glory in its original world.
Honestly, if the Throne of Heroes existed here, Izumi could probably apply to make his own Class Card.
With that thought, he opened his status screen.
And froze.
[STATUS]
Name: IzumiRace: Human (Hōrai Immortal)

Six parameters. A perfect RPG-style status sheet.
But looking at the line of C+ across all his physical stats, Izumi's face darkened.
So all his power came from external skills?!His base attributes were weak as hell!
Mana being EX was expected.
But Luck… EX?!
Izumi stared.
So he was actually that lucky?
Thinking back—he'd crossed worlds, picked up a priceless weapon, awakened Projection magecraft and Unlimited Blade Works, then somehow got Transcender Cards from killing a priest…
Yeah. Yeah, that checked out.
No wonder the system seemed so generous. His Luck stat was cracked from the beginning.
Honestly, it made sense. Crossing worlds was already an act of absurd fortune.
Izumi took a breath and called out in his heart:
"System, you definitely have a will of your own, right?""At least say something? Come on, talk to me for five yen."
Silence.
No matter how long he waited, the system didn't respond.
Izumi sighed, disappointed.
So it was operating on some kind of preset rules. Probably no consciousness.
Well, whatever. He continued examining the rest of his new abilities.
And so, his quiet recovery days truly began…
