Riley leaned against the wall, her heart pounding. She didn't know how Tristan managed it, but the doctor had allowed him to go in while she was kept out. Her mother needed a blood transfusion. Her rare blood type would take time to prepare.
Tristan had promised to handle it, which was why he had entered the theatre with the doctors. Riley wondered how she had let it happen. What did he even know about medicine?
A nurse came out, and Riley rushed to her. "Please, let me in. Or tell me how it's going. I need to know about my mom."
"I don't know, ma. The doctors will reach out soon," the nurse said before walking away.
Tears ran down Riley's cheeks as she stared at the theatre doors. Maybe this hospital hadn't seen madness like hers before. She was about to show them.
She started to head downstairs when the doors opened and Tristan walked out with the doctor. He was still in his blue theatre clothes.
