Chapter 90 - Chapter 89: Change of Plan! Babidi Is Scared, the King of the Demon World Is in Trouble

Meanwhile, inside a hidden base, the wizard Babidi stared at a crystal ball, frantically scratching his head.

"What's going on?!"

"Spopovich and Yamu—why did they suddenly disappear?!"

His furious voice echoed through the empty cabin.

Babidi cast a spell, projecting the entire World Martial Arts Tournament arena.

But within the image, there was no trace of his two subordinates.

Even the magical link controlling them had been completely severed.

An ominous premonition crept into Babidi's heart.

To instantly kill two magically enhanced warriors in the blink of an eye… the opponent's strength was absolutely terrifying.

"Useless! All of them are useless!"

Babidi stomped his foot in rage.

His original plan had been simple—rapidly fill Majin Buu's revival energy by harvesting the power of Earth's strongest fighters.

But now, that plan clearly carried too much risk.

If he sent more people and they were wiped out just as easily, it would be a complete double loss.

"Damn it!"

Babidi clenched his teeth, his expression twisting.

His gaze shifted to the massive pink fleshy cocoon beside him, covered in blood-red patterns.

"There's no other choice…"

In the end, out of caution, Babidi abandoned the idea of continuing operations at the World Martial Arts Tournament.

Instead, he turned toward the cold-faced, red-skinned man kneeling behind him on one knee.

The King of the Demon World—Dabura.

"Dabura!"

"Yes, Lord Babidi."

"Change of plan!" Babidi said grimly. "You will go to the energy converter."

Dabura's body stiffened slightly, but he still lowered his head respectfully.

"As you command."

He understood exactly what this meant.

Babidi intended to extract his energy—the energy of the strongest warrior under his command—to fill the gap.

The process would be unimaginably painful and would significantly delay Majin Buu's revival, but at present, it was the safest and most reliable option.

World Martial Arts Tournament.

Audience Stands.

Loren silently returned to his seat.

He casually picked up a potato chip that Android 18 had left behind and tossed it into his mouth with a crisp crunch.

"Done?" 18 asked indifferently, not even turning her head.

"Yeah. Just took care of two little flies," Loren replied casually.

At that moment, the announcer's voice echoed throughout the entire stadium.

"Alright, ladies and gentlemen! After some urgent equipment repairs, the matches will now continue!"

"Next, the two contestants entering the ring are—"

The announcer deliberately dragged out his words, building suspense.

"One is the fighter who created a miracle in the preliminaries and accidentally destroyed our punching power testing machine—Contestant Son Goku!"

"And his opponent is the brightest star of our arena, a partner of justice—Masked Saiyan Superman!"

Boom!

The entire stadium exploded with excitement.

Thunderous cheers erupted from every direction.

Under countless gazes, Goku and Gohan stepped onto the ring from opposite contestant entrances.

Goku looked as relaxed as ever, smiling and waving at the audience.

"Gohan."

Goku grinned at his son.

"Show me everything you've got. Don't disappoint me."

"Dad… please go easy on me too."

Gohan's voice sounded slightly muffled through his helmet.

Over the years, he really had slacked off—buried in his studies and rarely training.

In his normal state, there was a massive gap between him and his father, who had trained relentlessly for seven straight years.

"Hahahaha! That depends on how well you perform!"

Goku rolled his wrists and assumed a fighting stance.

The referee saw that both fighters were ready. He raised his hand high—and slammed it down!

"Match start!"

The instant the words fell, Goku moved.

No.

To the eyes of ordinary spectators, he hadn't moved at all.

Only a faint afterimage lingered where he had stood.

His real body had already appeared right in front of Gohan.

Fast!

So fast that it surpassed the limits of human visual perception!

"So fast—!"

Gohan's heart jolted as his body reacted on instinct, leaning backward.

Whoosh!

Goku's seemingly casual hand chop brushed past Gohan's nose.

The violent air pressure made the white cape on Gohan's helmet snap loudly.

"Good reaction, Gohan."

Goku's laughing voice echoed from all directions.

Gohan steadied himself, his expression serious as his eyes scanned the ring.

Goku's figure had completely vanished.

In the stands, the audience craned their necks in confusion.

"Where did he go?"

"Where's Son Goku?!"

"Did the match even start?"

"Is this magic? A disappearing trick?"

Even the announcer froze, cold sweat forming on his forehead as he forced out an explanation.

"Oh—! Do you see that, everyone?! Contestant Son Goku moved at such extreme speed that he became invisible to the naked eye! This… this is truly miraculous footwork!"

VIP Section.

Mr. Satan's pupils shrank violently.

His body trembled as cold sweat poured down his face.

Magic?

Footwork?

Bullshit!

Others might not understand—but he did.

That wasn't technique.

That was raw, overwhelming speed.

The same kind of power…

The same power as those golden-haired monsters during the Cell Games!

"No… impossible…"

Mr. Satan's lips quivered.

"It's just a coincidence… he only looks similar… that's all!"

He desperately tried to convince himself.

In the ring.

"Up there!"

Gohan suddenly looked skyward.

At some point, Goku had already appeared directly above him, his legs locked together like a battle axe, chopping straight down!

Gohan didn't hesitate. He crossed his arms and blocked.

Bang!!!

A deep, explosive crash rang out!

The ring beneath Gohan's feet shattered like a spiderweb, cracks spreading in every direction.

A visible white shockwave erupted from the point of impact!

"Waaaaah—!"

Spectators in the front rows were nearly blown off their seats, hats, popcorn, and drinks flying everywhere.

"Oh my god!"

"What was that?!"

"That wind was insane!"

"These special effects are unbelievable!"

Far from being frightened, the crowd became even more excited, assuming it was some ultra-realistic production effect.

Mr. Satan's face had gone from pale white to sickly green.

Special effects?

He knew better than anyone how real that shockwave was—it nearly blasted him out of his chair.

In the ring.

Gohan had been driven into the floor, his legs sunk deep into the shattered tiles.

"Your strength has dropped, Gohan," Goku said calmly as he landed lightly on the ring, shaking his head.
