Chapter 22 - Chapter 22: I am the Bone of My Sword

Rudeus released water magic from his hands. The water ball shot out, drawing a clear arc in the air, putting out the flames that were about to explode, and even smashing through the wall, creating a closer path.

"Middle-level magic?"

Shirou and Lilia were shocked by Rudeus's actions.

Although they knew that Rudeus spent his days in the attic studying magic, they didn't think a three-year-old child could do anything so amazing.

But Rudeus actually released middle-level magic, which was undoubtedly shocking.

Even Shirou, after being in this world for a few years, knew that middle-level magic wasn't something you could use casually.

"Rudy, are you a genius?"

Shirou couldn't help praising him. He didn't feel jealous of Rudeus's talent, but was genuinely happy for him.

After all, he had been worried that Rudeus, being closed off all day, would become withdrawn and disconnected from society.

But now it seemed that he hadn't wasted his time at all, and had even done something he hadn't expected.

Shirou regarded Rudeus as his younger brother, so he was naturally happy with what he had achieved.

Moreover, Rudeus's water magic had saved everyone. If that fire had exploded, Shirou wouldn't have been able to stop it, and everyone would have been burned.

"N-Not that great..."

Rudeus didn't expect to be praised by Shirou, and a look of excitement appeared on the boy's face.

He had realized his mistake, that his previous rejection of Shirou was due to envy and guilt towards his brother.

So, being recognized by Shirou was the happiest thing for Rudeus right now.

He scratched his head, a genuine smile on his face.

Of course, they couldn't keep talking here. The fire had completely engulfed the house, and it would take some time to escape.

"Lilia, Rudy, follow behind me."

Shirou took a deep breath.

After Rudeus showed his magic ability and helped them out of the crisis, Shirou realized that he couldn't hide his abilities any longer.

In such a dangerous situation, he had to use all the power he now had, to fully use the strength of Servant Emiya, to resolve the crisis!

"I am the bone of my sword!"

The familiar chant came from Shirou's mouth.

In the years he had been in this world, Shirou had been practicing swordsmanship and magic.

He constantly improved his own reinforcement magic, and while practicing it, he resonated with Servant Emiya's soul.

As a Caster, Servant Emiya wasn't a powerful being. After all, the Emiya family's magic crest wasn't passed on to Emiya Shirou, and Shirou himself didn't have much talent for magic, but as a magician, Servant Emiya's magic wasn't simple, and could even be said to be excellent.

Because Emiya's origin was the sword, as long as he regarded his body as a sword and his bones as sword bones, he could achieve a special reinforcement that ordinary Casters couldn't.

"Crack!"

As magical energy surged through Shirou's body, he began to display abilities that a normal boy wouldn't have.

He raised the long sword in his hand, and his whole body seemed to merge with the sword. The tiny magic circuits engraved on his right hand merged directly with the blade, making Shirou seem to have become a sword.

At this moment, after fully activating the magic circuits in his body, Shirou took a step forward and unleashed a slash with all his might!

"Boom!"

Clearly visible air currents suddenly swirled up, and the corridor that had been engulfed in flames was forcibly cut open, creating a path for escape.

"Quick, let's go!"

Shirou didn't care about Lilia and Rudeus's surprise. He took them towards the outside of the house, constantly slashing, cutting down falling beams, or flames rising from the surroundings.

"So strong..."

Seeing Shirou's actions, Rudeus showed a look of surprise.

Although he no longer had any resentment towards Shirou, he still didn't expect him to be so powerful.

His own middle-level magic that broke the wall was nothing compared to Shirou's amazing swordsmanship.

After all, almost every slash of Shirou's had the strength of his middle-level magic.

Of course, Rudeus didn't know that Shirou was using the power of Servant Emiya to forcibly improve his physical abilities.

And this kind of reinforcement itself was a great drain on his physical strength and magical power.

Especially magical power.

Emiya Shirou had 27 magic circuits, which could be said to be quite outstanding for a child from an ordinary family, and even a genius.

However, compared to formal magic families, Shirou's magic circuits weren't enough. Most descendants of long-standing Casters had more magic circuits than him. Some particularly outstanding Casters, such as the girl named Tohsaka Rin in Servant Emiya's memory, had nearly a hundred magic circuits.

In short, Shirou was still a child, so even if he had many magic circuits, his total magical power was still scarce.

Using the special reinforcement from Servant Emiya consumed a lot of magical power.

He had to get Rudeus and Lilia out of the house before he ran out of magical power!

"Almost there, it's just ahead!"

The Greyrat house wasn't big. The main difficulty was that Lilia had trouble with her legs and had to walk carefully, but even so, they quickly saw the entrance.

Shirou breathed a sigh of relief. The magical power in his body was almost gone. If he had to swing his sword again, his body would be completely exhausted.

But even so, he didn't rush out first. Instead, he let Lilia and Rudeus go first, while he continued to watch the surroundings, preventing the collapse of the house from hurting others.

Lilia had trouble with her legs, so she had to walk slowly.

And to Shirou's surprise, Rudeus hesitated in front of the door, and even seemed to fall into extreme wavering and confusion.

He didn't dare to take a step out of the house, as if he was facing some kind of inescapable nightmare...
