Aurora did not immediately answer.
The question lingered between them while the fire crackled softly. The scent of roasting meat filled the air as evening shadows slowly stretched across the woods surrounding g the cave.
She continued turning the meat as if Asher had asked something insignificant instead of something capable of changing the next several days.
"When are you planning to return?" she asked after a while. Her eyes never left the food. And her voice remained calm, almost casual.
Asher watched her profile for several moments before answering, "If you agree to come with me, we can leave early tomorrow morning."
Aurora remained silent. The only sound came from the sizzling meat.
Asher continued, "If you don't want to go yet, I'll stay until your treatment is complete. Then I'll return in a few days."
