Lord Maurice stepped forward without another word before wrapping Reis in a firm embrace. "You have grown thicker."
Reis groaned dramatically. "I just arrived and I have already been judged."
Several people chuckled. Even Aurora had to suppress a smile.
"You deserved it." His father returned. He even pinched Reis' biceps to see just how much new muscles his son had gained within past two months.
Lady Selene soon embraced her son as well before gently cupping his face. "You have been gone too long."
"I know, Mother."
Her gaze then slowly shifted toward Aurora and she smiled warmly before taking Aurora's hands into her own. "So, you are the remarkable young female who's turned my mischievous son into a respectable adult."
Reis looked genuinely offended. "Mother, I was already respectable. You don't have to make me bad to praise her."
