With the Ankh Badge, Selina officially became a paranormal investigator with ACPD backing her up. She was no longer a wannabe but an actual citizen of the dark side of this world.
"This PI badge will allow you to have more leeway and even request cooperation from any police department. You will also be able to access our Supernatural Bounty Site. You can view all the bounties available for your level and can acquire information related to it.
We recommend marking the bounty with your account so that other PI knows that the job already has someone working on it.
Of course, they can still try to do the same job as you. Whoever completes the bounty first shall receive the reward.
There will be competition and you should keep your guard up even if you meet your peers out there. Humans can be just as dangerous as NCEs."
Alister carefully explained the situation to Selina.
She held the badge tightly then slipped it into her pocket. "I… I don't know what to say. Thank you so much, Detective Baltimore."
"Don't mention it. Your mother was also a paranormal investigator. She wouldn't like you to follow her path.
But well… It seems like Fate has brought you to us after all. Instead of preventing you which may cause even more harm than good, I figure it is better that you join us.

Selina smiled. "I will consider it, detective."
Alister nodded. He pulled out a small silver chip. "The payment of Ms. Rendell is inside. 500 credits. The police department gives you another 500 credits for your contribution."
"1000 credits? Thank you so much, sir."
Alister waved his hand dismissively. "It is what we need to do. You should go home and get some rest."
"I will, sir.
Officer Cole, officer Carpenter. See you later.
Goodbye, detective."
Alister nodded and observed Selina as she left. That black cat on her shoulder kept eyeing Alister the entire time. Its eyes were like piercing spikes.
"I'm onto you, old man." Mater meowed.
The pair exited the office.
"Recruiting her as a private contractor seems a bit excessive, detective." Cole said. "We don't even know what she can do. She should at least join a course in the Institute."
Alister shook his head. "Her mother is Iris Sordenfield."
"Wait… That famous DSI agent?"
Alister nodded.
Selina got on her bicycle and went home with Mater. The cat lay lazily in the basket in the front.
"Selina as a bounty hunter is a good thing. She can officially snoop around." Mater thought. "I can help her deal with the Wraith. In exchange, I can snatch their Chaos."
"Mr. Mater! We just got 1000 credits. We don't need to worry about money for a while. I can finally buy some cat food for you."
"NO CAT FOOD. They're disgusting!" Mater meowed and shook his head.
"How about salmon?" Selina said.
"Salmon sounds good." Mater licked his small cat mouth.
The pair visited the supermarket before going home. Selina bought some good food for the both of them. A few beers and a few milk bottles.
"It is my first job, Mr. Mater! We need to celebrate!"
"Aye, woman. That I can agree on." Mater meowed.
They went home. Mater rolled on the floor as Selina prepared the meal. The mattress felt very good on the fluffy cat fur.
Then they feast. Selina bought some fancy spicy meals and laid them out on the floor. There were also dishes of a few different fishes as well.
Usually cats eat raw fish. But Mater had shown his utter contempt to raw food so Selina cooked the fishes as they were for humans.
Selina kept talking with Mater even though she couldn't understand what he's saying. She could see that Mater understood her but was limited by his cat throat.
Selina drank a few cups of beer and was getting pretty tipsy. As she laid the cup down. Mater jumped up and pushed his head down the cup, drinking the beer.
"No! You can't drink this stuff. It's alcohol!" Selina grabbed Mater from behind and lifted him up.
Mater hissed at Selina and slapped her gently with his soft paw. The slap had little to no damage but communicated Mater's dissatisfaction pretty well.
"It's not good for you, Mr. Mater!" Selina said.
"You're not good for me!" Mater meowed.
The black cat slipped off of her hands and drenched himself in beer again. He was obviously an alcoholic cat.
"Fine. Do it your way. I'm going to drink everything before you!"
The owner and the black cat started their alcoholic phase.
When everything was over, Selina was barely able to walk. She dragged herself into bed.
Mater followed her and slipped under her shirt. The goth girl didn't hate it at all and let him stick into her warm naked skin.
"So warm. Hehe." Mater meowed.
Selina hugged the cat into sleep. She didn't even realize his dirty intention. Or maybe she did. After all, Mater was more than a cat. But Selina didn't find it repulsive. What can a cat do to her?
In the early morning, Mater slipped out of Selina's shirt and went to her living room.
He opened his mouth wide and spat out the Dark Grimoire. It was still covered in pure Chaos.
Mater had to leave Chaos on it constantly to keep it small and store it in his stomach. Now that it was no longer required, he retrieved the remaining Chaos.
The black cat used those Chaos toward his Warlock level. Another 20 kilometers of blood vessels were converted into Chaos vessels. His magic reserve increased by a little bit.
"700 kilometers… Over half of the magic in the last Chaos Stones were used up. Only 20 kilometers were left out of the full 50 kilometers of Chaos.
I need 300 more kilometers to reach level 2."
Mater flipped the Dark Grimoire open and looked at the fifth page. The page contained the Scarlet-Ox Fury.
"For a level 5 creature. This wraith is kind of weak. If I reach level 3, maybe I can create a Submission Seal to control it…
The Submission Seal is a better option than Demonic Arsenal. I don't know how to fight in cat form yet. Having a minion is much better.
Alright. The current target is reaching level 3 as quickly as possible to try and enslave this wraith.

With the Ankh Badge Selina received from the ACPD, she also has access to the Supernatural Bounty Site. The ACPD had created a bounty hunter account for her on the confidential site.
There were levels to an account. Iron, Bronze, Silver, Gold. Each represented the capability of a paranormal investigator. Selina only had an Iron Badge so she could only access Iron level missions.
"Huh. This ranking system reminds me a lot of those Alchemists. Their power ranks are also metal-based."
The site was unable to block Mater from viewing all the missions. He could simply use Chaos to penetrate the server. Mater also has also set up a backdoor in the ACPD internal system so he could learn even more details.
However, Mater was still weak. Selina was also very weak. He needed to pick a suitable mission that would be safe for both of them. Iron Missions were sufficient for Mater's needs at the moment.
The black cat grabbed the mouse and surfed the Bounty Hunting Site.
