Chapter 10 - "The Six Powers and the Road to G-5"

_________________________________________________________________________________________________________

Kyle fell silent. Somehow, without even realizing how it happened, he'd ended up becoming Garp's disciple.

From start to finish, the legendary Vice Admiral didn't ask for his opinion even once. It reminded Kyle of the way Garp treated his own grandson—never really cared about the kid's wishes either.

Still, Kyle didn't actually feel much resistance inside.

He had just arrived in this world, and this man standing before him had technically saved his life. Sure, he couldn't be killed… but being thrown into Impel Down to rot forever, or being tortured endlessly? That was a kind of pain he didn't even want to imagine.

Not dying didn't mean invincible.

Training started almost immediately.

Garp might be loud and rough around the edges, but he was definitely a man who acted fast.

"The Rokushiki—Six Powers. Just like the name says, six techniques," he explained.

"Any officer in the Navy who's gone through formal training knows at least one or two of them."

"The really talented and hardworking ones master all six."

Kyle listened carefully. He obviously knew about the Six Powers, especially Tekkai—Iron Body—famous even in his previous life.

"Now, hit me."

"To learn the Six Powers, the first requirement is a body that's already beyond normal human limits."

Kyle nodded and threw a punch at him.

Garp caught it with one hand, eyebrows lifting slightly. "Use your leg. Full strength."

Without hesitation, Kyle kicked toward his palm.

A dull thud echoed.

"Alright," Garp nodded. "That's enough."

"You already meet the physical standards to learn the Six Powers."

Inside, he was far more shocked than he let on. The strength surging from the boy's punch and kick had already surpassed the threshold needed for Rokushiki training.

By roughly estimating, he figured Kyle's "Dao Power" was around 850.

Utterly absurd. Most people spent more than ten years of blood, sweat, and suffering to reach that level.

This kid? He basically trained twice—surfing through a storm once, a close-combat fight once.

Garp could only chalk it up to monstrous talent.

"At this rate, he might surpass Kuzan in the basics in no time," he thought, feeling a little unreal.

Training for the Six Powers began that very day.

Thankfully, Kyle learned fast too. Otherwise, even with his cheat-like "add points" ability, being hopelessly untalented would make everything pointless.

Seven days later, the warship crossed the Red Line through the Navy's special passage and entered the New World.

By then, Kyle had mastered his first Six Power technique.

"Tekkai!"

With a quiet shout, his skin and muscles instantly hardened like steel.

Even though people joked about Tekkai in his previous world, Kyle quickly realized just how practical the technique was once he trained it.

A new line appeared on his internal "panel," below Conqueror's Haki.

Six Powers — Tekkai LV1+

Which meant it could be upgraded too.

Conqueror's Haki was a trump card—not something he could use constantly. But the Six Powers were like reliable basic attacks. Workhorses.

Kyle set a goal for himself: master all six in the shortest time possible.

That afternoon, he picked up a standard Navy saber and began sword training under Bogard.

After an hour of form practice and power control drills, he swapped the saber for a two-ton dumbbell.

"Whooo!"

Each swing sliced the air with a wailing gust. Sweat flew from his body, splattering across the deck.

Great strength was always built on inhuman effort.

"Hahahahaha!"

"I already told you, Fleet Admiral Kong—I'm turning down that admiral promotion!"

"I just got to the New World! Admirals don't have half the freedom vice admirals do!"

Garp's booming laughter echoed across the ship.

"This is an order from the highest levels of the World Government, Garp!" Kong's stern voice came through loud and clear even to Kyle.

"You can't keep being so irresponsible!"

"I don't care if it's the World Government or those five old guys," Garp grumbled. "I'm not interested!"

"Being an admiral is way too much trouble!"

"Think carefully, Garp. That's the fifth time you've refused the promotion," Kong warned.

"No need to think. I still refuse!"

"Oh, and by the way—I took in a disciple. Name's Kyle. Kid's got good talent."

"If you're happy, fine," Kong sighed before cutting the line.

Kuzan rushed over excitedly. "So cool, Vice Admiral Garp! How many times is this now that you've turned down the admiral slot?"

"Young people shouldn't imitate me," Garp chuckled. "I'm just lazy."

Kyle kept his mouth shut and continued swinging the massive dumbbell.

Three days later, the warship arrived at G-5, a fortress base in the New World.

There, he saw the other two pillars of the Navy for the first time.

Admiral "Buddha" Sengoku.

Admiral "Black Arm" Zephyr.

The two admirals walked out side by side, followed by a group of stern-looking officers.

Kyle noticed their ranks—every one of them was a general-class officer. Their presence alone radiated iron-blooded pressure.

Clearly, all battle-hardened elites.

"Garp, we've been waiting a long time," Zephyr said in a deep voice.

"The situation in the New World isn't great right now."

Garp burst out laughing. "Picked up a talented kid on the way. Slowed me down a bit."

He grabbed Kyle and pulled him forward.

"This is my disciple, Kyle!"

Kyle bowed formally and stayed quiet.

"That's the kid who offended a noble—a Celestial Dragon?" Sengoku frowned. "Garp, you're getting more reckless."

After observing Kyle, he gave a small nod. "I'll take care of the fallout."

Kyle blinked. "Thank you, Admiral Sengoku."

Sengoku waved dismissively. He wasn't concerned about that.

He was serious about something else entirely.

"Edd War. We need to hurry."

"Golden Lion Shiki is gathering forces there."

"And the Roger Pirates have appeared too."

Garp laughed loudly. "Then let's head out!"

"Roger, Shiki… I haven't seen those guys in ages. This charge is mine!"

"Don't any of you try to steal it!"

Zephyr frowned. "This situation isn't like the old days. Don't be reckless."

The group headed toward the base, with Kyle quietly following behind.

"Kyle," Kuzan whispered, "we might get to see those two guys this time."

"Those two?" Kyle asked.

Bogard finally spoke up, voice calm as always. "He means Sakazuki and Borsalino."

Kyle's eyes narrowed slightly.

The future three admirals… and he was about to see all of them soon.

"..."
