Chapter 10 - Chapter Ten

Chapter Ten

Dawn Pov.

"Sorry about that, I was a bit surprised you cared to know. Why? You don't think I'm lying about being a noble?" I asked, my tone teasing as I leaned onto the door post and his whole face flushed pink.

"I-it's not th-that, I… I just wanted to check up on you to make sure you were fine and also to ask you for a small favor," he said in explanation and my left brow lifted up.

"Oh…what's that?" I asked.

"Would you go with me to the underground night feast tonight?" He asked and I stared at him with confusion.

"The underground night feast is a sort of party but much more wild, nastier and full of all the wrong things your world would arrest even adults for." Rae Rae explained and I nodded softly in understanding. It was a-.

"I'll meet you at the grimoire statue by 9pm, thank you." Corey's voice brought me out of my thoughts and my brows furrowed as he turned around and quickly walked off, leaving me surprised at what had just happened.

"Rae Rae, what just happened?" I asked, glancing at the retreating figure for a minute before I went back inside my room and locked the door behind me.

"You kind of agreed to go out with him to the underground night feast," she informed and I face palmed.

Shit! When had I done that? I tried to recall when I told him I'd go with him but nothing came to mind. Seriously I don't get it, when did I agree to that?

Rae Rae shrugged as if she didn't care but then another knock came on the door and I groaned lowly, can't a woman get some damn peace?.

I'm not opening that door, not no-.

"Dawn it's me, Isabelle." Blackwood? The sister? Why was she here? Whatever, she can knock all she wanted but no one was coming into this room ag-.

"Come with me to shop for clothes for this underground night feast happening tonight," she yelled out and I shut my eyes tightly.

Why did everyone think I would want to attend that stupid thing?.

"I'm not attendi-"

"I'll pay?" She yelled back and a smile split my face as I shot to my feet and crossed the room in three quick steps to pull open the door.

"You could have started with that, Princess," I flashed her a smile as I wore my boots and walked out. "After you."

She led me out of the academy grounds and turned right towards a large building with the color green and my face scrunched up slightly.

"This is supposed to be a mall?" I asked and she glanced at me with curiosity.

"What's that thing you said… m-mall?" Princess Isabelle asked and I scratched the back of my head softly.

"A clothing store," I said in explanation and she nodded, realization dawning on her before she smirked.

"You'll love it, let's get inside first." She said and I nodded as we approached it steadily and soon we got to the door and were led by a girl into the place.

My breath hitched at the sight in front of me, the exterior parts of this place were so ugly but the interior, a whistle escaped my lips.

This was simply something close to… the worst sort of budget mall I have ever seen, the clothes were all jammed together in a different array of colors, none of it looked sorted out or even put together at all.

The place was clean which was better than nothing because if it wasn't, I'd probably stumble at how different it looked from what I was used to.

"Just this..? It looks so… so…" I trailed off, unable to think of a perfect word for it.

"Great right?" She smiled brightly and I looked away with a grimace. As if. It wasn't even close to being nice at all, much more good and much more Great?? Hah, very funny.

"Yeah, that.." I mumbled in agreement, I had no qualms being accepting of I wasn't the one payi-.

"What in the entire conscious system is this?" Rae Rae gasped with horror as soon as she woke up and I felt my frown deepen, I wasn't even the only one thinking about this horrid place.

I don't know, should I add this to the stores I plan on opening?

"Please do," Rae Rae piped up and my brows raised with surprise, she wasn't particularly on board with the idea before– shocking that she was now all because of a horrible mall.

"Oh I will." I mumbled back and she nodded with relief.

"Come on, let's beg-"

"Well, look who we have here. The lying noble bitch and the other noble trash," a voice I knew all too well said out loud and once again, for the upteenth time today, I groaned with pure annoyance and rising irritation.

"I don't see why they're here, I thought the princess was grounded by daddy." The other female whom I hadn't met before mocked with a high pitched voice as they came to stand before us.

Of course it was this girl, Rae Rae had introduced her properly as Violet, Lady Violet to be precise. Her father was a high ranking prime minister, rumors have it that her father was the eldest brother of the reigning king and soon to be regent and she uses that to her advantage as the only female child they had.

Females were not much in this world and those that were here were treated with care by the men, not all the men of course but having a female child in your family was the best thing that could ever happen to a family.

They didn't have the soothing power of most stories I had read but they had their perks too, there were healing abilities an-.

"Focus!" Rae Rae shrieked into my head and I winced internally, my scowl deepening as I came back to myself.

"Violet, if you're looking for a fight here then you will get it and I promise you that the results will be very very painful," I said, my voice low and her eyes flashed with something akin to fear before she growled and stepped up to me.

"Why don't you show everyone your true colors? Clinging to the princess to get some clothes? Pathetic," she hissed at me– her face brimming with triumph when I didn't respond for a solid minute.

"I'll spend as much as you spend until you drop, will that make you back off?" I asked and her eyes flashed before she nodded.

"You talk quite big for someone who has nothing under her name,"She began before smirking at me. "But I'll give you the benefit of the doubt, let's begin. I need five staffs here now." She yelled and I smirked as I turned to princess Isabelle.

"Isn't that a waste of money?" She asked, clearly concerned about me and I smirked.

"What waste? Mine or hers?" I asked and her brows furrowed with confusion before they tightened.

"You don't plan o!.. Oh beast god," she gasped softly

"Hey, that lady who's shopping now, use this but make her buy a lot at double the prices." I gave a staff member ten golf coins and his eyes widened with shock but I smiled with elation at my next move.

Want to play with me? Dream on.
