The Spark Ignites
---
Adrian hadn't expected the challenge to come so soon.
Their project manager had just handed them the most demanding task of the quarter, a client presentation that required creativity, precision, and flawless teamwork. And, of course, the two of them were paired as lead coordinators.
He glanced at Bella, seated across from him, reviewing notes with that calm, unshakable aura that had already begun to make his pulse race.
"You know," she said, eyes flicking up to meet his, "if we mess this up, it's on both of us."
"Then we won't mess it up," he replied, matching her intensity.
Her lips curved into the faintest smirk. "Confident. I like that."
For the next few hours, the two of them sat shoulder to shoulder, bouncing ideas off each other. Every glance, every touch of her hand as she pointed at notes or slides, every quiet laugh when he made a clever suggestion all sent electricity through him.
Bella had a way of asserting dominance without even trying. She took the lead in discussions, delegated responsibilities, and yet… she left enough space for him to shine. And he noticed it. He noticed her subtle compliments and the way her eyes softened when he said something smart.
At one point, as he leaned over to adjust a graph, their arms brushed. A tiny spark of awareness shot through him and he noticed, She didn't pull away, Instead, she let her hand linger near his for a second too long, then moved it deliberately, as if testing his reaction. so this left him thinking, did she feel the spark between them? or was she just testing him?
By mid afternoon, tensionin the room was thick not just professional, but electric, personal and lustful.
Bella finally leaned back, crossing her legs, eyes fixed on him looking as if she see his soul. "You're better than I expected," she said, voice low and teasing. "Careful, Adrian. You might get under my skin."
He chuckled softly. "Is that a warning or a compliment?" he asked
Her smirk widened. "Both. Depends on whether you can handle it." then she winked at him.
Adrian's chest tightened. He could feel her control, her dominance, but he also felt the thrill of matching her intensity. This was a woman who didn't just captivate him but she also commanded.
The client presentation loomed the next day. They stayed late, preparing slides, rehearsing dialogue, perfecting timing. Alone in the empty office, Adrian noticed how the overhead lights highlighted her profile, the curve of her jaw, the confidence in her posture, the way in which she stands was alluring.
"Are you always this… intimidating?" he asked in a voice low, more of a statement than a question.
She tilted her head, with a playful glint in her eyes. "Only to the ones who deserve to be intimidated."
Adrian swallowed. That was him. He didn't know why he wanted it, wanted to rise to her challenge, wanted to impress her, wanted more from her.
And just like that, the spark between them igni
ted subtle, controlled, yet undeniable.
Then he wondered, where will this leads?
