Chapter 12 - Acknowledged

''Sheng Chong!'' Xueyao's heart raced in fear as she stood rooted on a spot wondering what the female white dragon was going to do to her worm.

The female white dragon read the expression on her face and pulled a subtle smile on her icy face before disappearing with her other half.

Xueyao's teary gaze glazed about in confusion.

She couldn't believe that sheng Chong's new captor would be the female white dragon.

Where was she taking her beloved to?

And what does she plan to do with it?

Xueyao's blood rose with her fast beating heart. She closed her eyes and tried to concentrate and hoped Sheng Chong would remember to ring that bell she attached to him so she could follow the ring and come to save him.

She began to shake when she heard nothing and Sheng Chong might already be dead, because it seemed the white dragons did not mean well for him.

But why Sheng Chong?

Why did she capture it instead of her?

''Xueyao…''

Ding, ding, ding, ding!

Her Master called her when the echo of Sheng Chong's bell rang loudly in her mind. She opened her eyes and wasted no time in going after that ring to save Sheng Chong.

( The Formless Dimension's Valley, the foundations of many realms it houses; The Foundation of the immortal realm )

The ring of the bell led her to the formless dimension valley, particularly where the foundation of the whole immortal realm is grounded and heavily protected by three million powerful spirit stones. Xueyao wandered around in this dark pit that resembled a place in the underworld and wondered why the female white immortal dragon brought her dearest here.

As she moved, the ring got louder until she paused and stared down at the scene of the two white dragons with numerous red dragons in the audience to see how her dearest companion was being sealed to one of the three million powerful spirit stones.

She quickly flew further down the dark pit, landed on the gravel-like soil and ran to stop the wicked immortal from sealing her companion at the very foundations of this realm.

The red dragons surrounding the white dragons noticed her presence and quickly intervened to stop her from doing anything stupid. Xueyao cried out when her attempts to knock down the red dragons with her magic failed her and she ended up being restrained in place by the red dragons. She watched with a heavy heart as they continued to seal her beloved worm in a spirit stone.

The worm kept ringing the bell, calling out to her to save her before it gets trapped in there forever. But she could do nothing but stand back and watch with bitter tears rolling down her cheeks.

''Sh…Sh…Sheng Chong…'' She called one last time and the white dragon sealed it off inside a spirit stone.

The female white dragon then turned to the heartbroken immortal as they freed her from their restriction. Both she and the female white dragon stared eye to eye for the longest time before she gave the immortal an explanation for her actions.

''Don't worry, I did not kill him.''

Another tear rolled down her cheek.

''I just sealed him to the foundations of our crumbling home.''

Her lips parted in disbelief, overwhelmed by such wickedness.

''Now, we both have something to lose if no one comes to their senses to save the immortal realm.''

Only a gentle breeze broke the silence around them as the girl tried to comprehend how she was going to cope with this level of trauma.

''But it shouldn't be that hard to save your beloved parasite now that the gods have been so gracious enough to reveal you as the Tribulation Guardian and my dearest Master has now awoken from his long seclusion.''

The white dragon took a step closer to the traumatized immortal and continued very close to her ears, ''You were not really motivated to save the very home that has kept you, loved you, protected you and given the likes of you a place to stay and call theirs. Now that I have given you a very good motivation to embrace your destiny, you better not disappoint or not only would you lose your home…''

Xueyao's reddened gaze moved to lock gazes with the icy blue orbs of the dragon king.

''...but your dearest Sheng Chong would die as well.''

Another tear rolled freely down her cheek as her hands balled into a tight fist, exerting enough self–control on herself from doing anything crazy before the dragon king.

The dragon king smiled and kept her distance before saying.

''As the dragon king of the immortal realm, I acknowledge Xueyao as the long–awaited Tribulation Guardian to my Master, the legendary immortal black dragon of the Formless Dimension!''

Xueyao placed a hand on her chest and leaned forward a bit to soothe the sharp ache in her chest.

Every red dragon fell to their knees, one by one in submission to her declaration.

''She will be given seven immortal days to convince my master to go through five terrible tribulations with her and…''

''....To save us from this pending damnation and her parasitic companion from being torn apart if the immortal realm should fall.''

Her voice echoed, it was the law. Nobody can go against it. No one had the guts to do so.

She fell to her knees and wept at this cruel fate. How unfair this was and she wondered why she hadn't escaped this realm a long time ago like she wanted to with Sheng Chong.

How was she going to convince that murderous black dragon lying there? He was waiting to kill her for forcefully bringing him out of his sleep to go through five tribulations and save the realm doomed to collapse all because of him in the first place.

Xueyao's cry was heart–wrenching, but no one cared to hear it.

Once satisfied, she reached out for her other half and left the valley with the other red dragons.
