Truth replied, "I am benevolent especially to those I despise."
And even if I despise him it is his truth.
I have no right to keep it if he's going to get erased."
The creature's eyes widened.
"What was that?" it asked.
His Excellency replied, "Your Truth."
The creature got upset and answered, "You mean falsehoods."
It accused, its voice laced with conviction.
Truth's expression remained calm.
"That's the problem with beings in existence. Even when I stare them right in the eye, they still want to believe 'L' over me.
So, who is false between us?"
And even I don't know what you saw, if you are not satisfied with my response, you will be erased unsatisfied.
The creature's eyes narrowed, its mind racing with thoughts.
It looked perplexed, as if looking at something foreign.
The air was thick with tension, as the creature's gaze locked onto Truth.
"What does it mean?" the creature asked, its voice barely above a whisper.
"What it means."
Truth's expression remained calm, but its eyes seemed to bore into the creature's soul.
"The truth is usually, simple and it is," Truth replied.
"So all I'll ask is what I you going to do with it."
The creature's eyes widened, as if a realization dawned on it.
"So she really did," it said, its voice filled with a mix of sadness and something else.
The trial continued.
The atmosphere became chilly and all sat with bated expressions waiting for Truth
He raised one hand a massive surge of invisible flames danced
He put a barrier to protect everyone from the hit except the accused.
Then decreeing, "For your atrocities, you are hereby eras—" as he was about to finish
The creature's scream interrupted the proceedings.
"I invoke my pardon!!!"
Dame Fate's chuckle was cold and mirthless.
"No pardon can save you," she said.
Truth's response was unexpected.
"But one."
That Pardon?!
Dame Fate's eyes narrowed, her mind racing with the implications of the pardon.
The courtroom fell silent, the only sound the heavy breathing of the creature.
The archivers exchanged glances, their faces filled with a mix of curiosity and concern.
Dame Fate's face twisted in a mixture of anger and frustration.
"The pardon changes nothing," she said aloud, trying to maintain the momentum of the trial.
But the creature's pardon had clearly shaken her, and the Book-Keepers could sense the uncertainty in her voice.
But Truth just sat there impassively.
Dame Fate's anger grew, her face reddening with rage.
"How can you stand for this," she said to Truth
Truth, meanwhile, seemed to be enjoying the drama.
"I detest it too, with all my being."
Its expression was calm and collected, but its eyes sparkled with amusement.
"But why then." she asked.
"It is by her will, I did this." Truth responded.
"The pardon is valid," Truth repeated, its voice firm.
Dame Fate's eyes locked onto Truth, her gaze pleading.
"Truth, please," she said, her voice barely above a whisper.
"Dismiss the pardon."
"Let justice be served."
"You know full well even I don't have that authority."
Truth's expression remained calm, but its eyes seemed to bore into Dame Fate's soul.
"I am bound by the rules of the Celestial Tribunal," Truth replied.
"Let him face the consequences of his actions."
"What actions as far as am aware, he has at this point done nothing wrong."
Truth's gaze fell upon the creature, its expression unreadable.
For a moment, there was silence.
The Book-Keepers held their breath, their eyes fixed on Truth.
Truth then turned its gaze to the creature.
"Do you know the price of that pardon?" it asked, its tone severe.
"I know," the creature replied calmly.
After a moment, Truth pronounced,
"Take him to the River Kiko, the Source, so he can be expunged of his crimes."
The guards stepped forward to escort the creature, their faces blank.
"Throw him into the River Kiko to purge his sins," Truth decreed.
As they prepared leave, Truth asked.
"Before you may leave, I'd like for you to answer me." Truth asked the nameless creature.
"You may."
"Do you know why that person gave you that pardon."
"No, no I do not."
With that response Truth chuckled and started fading away.
Dame Fate approached the creature, anger radiating from her as she grasped its arm tightly.
"Disgusting Roach," she hissed, her voice laced with disdain.
"The River Kiko will clean you of your filth, but not without a price," she added coldly. "It will cast you into another time, another body."
The creature raised an eyebrow, a smirk creeping onto its lips.
"So, reincarnation?" it chuckled, amusement flickering in its eyes.
Dame Fate's fury exploded. "Haven't you done enough in this lifetime?"
She questioned, her voice venomous. "What did Truth's gift reveal to you?
It chose to ignore her and dipped itself in the river disappearing from view.
To come in a different form, a different time.
Her gaze lingered on the water
As she tried processing all the many questions that the thing had left her with.
"Who, Why, When, Where, How.
All having to do with that person, who shall not be named.
And anothers were about the roach.
If had the pardon why didn't he use it immediately to prevent all this hussle, and here she thought her plan was flawless.
It all changed when he saw it's Truth.
What was revealed is only known to that entity.
But the main question she had was a 'Why' question.
Even after performing and impossible feat, one might even consider it a sin, one that far surpasses any of the 7 cardinal ones.
Why did that person grant it grace.
Just staring at the river wouldn't answer her questions so she snapped her fingers.
The chains slithered out of her garments and formed a portal.
And before she stepped through she took one last look at the river.
And promised herself, this time around she shall ensnare him again but this time the won't be any Pardon.
And she'll make sure that not even a stain remains of the 'Roach'.
