Chapter 11 - Dominance

"Quiet down Khoran, do you know who that man is?" The white haired girl exerted her aura towards the man, and cold wind swept through the air which made the man tremble.

'Khoran?' Seraph thought as his eyes shifted to the man…he had never heard of him before.

"Seriously Lyraen?! We are on the same team for gods sake!" The man's voice cracked as he was throwing a tantrum which was surprising for someone his age.

"Lyraen, must you embarrass him?" The red haired girl sighed teasingly as she looked at Lyraen who seemed unfazed still glaring at Seraph.

"Yes Vaella, we are in the presence of a mighty one." Lyraen kept his icy gaze locked onto Seraph the other two slowly turned towards him as well.

Seraph just floated still listening to the conversation quietly without bothering to intervene.

"The person in front of us is The White Requiem," Lyraen said in an icy tone as Seraph tilted his head.

"THAT White Requiem?!" Khoran and Vaella both asked at the same time as their eyes bulged out, they both turned even more nervous in an instant.

Lyraen sighed in frustration. "Yes, the same person who wiped out fifteen pillars alone."

Khoran's mouth opened as he gulped visible and Vaella floated still shaking, both of their breaths turned silent.

'So they do know who I am.' Seraph shook his head and finally decided to speak up.

"Please friends, leave this place. I'm not interested in a battle," Histone was calm, like an old sage trying to explain something to his students.

However, his words found nothing but deaf ears.

"Even if you are that requiem, you are way past your prime now. And we must take a certain child from you.." Khoran chuckled slightly his nervousness subsiding as he saw Seraph not wanting to initiate a battle.

After his words, all three of them summoned their weapons.

'I see, so they won't leave without a fight.' Seraph sighed in disappointment, slowly and gradually releasing his aura.

Lyraen was holding onto a freezing spear, snowflakes floating around the blue giant. The temperature dropped significantly around her.

Khoran held onto a greatsword twice the size of his body, it was pure black just like his aura. However, his hands didn't wobble at all indicating his strength.

And Vaella held a flaming katana in her hands, the entire sword enveloped in golden flames burned through the air leaving a faint metallic scent in the area, canceling the temperature drop of Lyraen.

However, Seraph did not summon any weapon.

"Where is your weapon?" Lyraen asked, her breath leaving faint steam in the air.

"I don't need a weapon to deal with pests." Seraph's words made all three of them shudder in surprise and fear.

Without waiting further he lifted his hand.

"Flamewall.." he muttered quietly however the air instantly exploded.

Huge bolts of flames surrounded the entire vicinity dancing around in a circular motion aimed at the three intruders. The air turned scorching hot in an instant.

The aura change was instant and all three of them spread their eyes wide open due to the technique.

Instantly flame bolts started firing through the air like a machine gun was shooting them with endless bullets, the bolts only appearing for a split second and not even visible to someone below the level of a pillar.

"An 8 star technique—" Khoran couldn't even finish his sentence as multiple bolts of flames ripped his body to shreds before he could even do anything.

Vaella shuddered and instantly felt a surge of nausea wash over her as she saw her teammate's decimated body.

However, she managed to survive due to her pure relationship with flames.

And Lyraen managed to dodge the incoming bolts, whenever a bolt even came close an ice wall materialized and defended her, creating a gigantic explosion.

Khoran's remains fell down the mountain, his sword disappearing quicker than it appeared.

The bolts stopped and Seraph spoke up again.

"Must I eliminate both of you? Just retreat peacefully."

Lyraen shook at Seraph's question, her breath quick but it was still steady.

However, Vaella was barely holding on now. Even if she had a close relationship with flames and was good at controlling them, there was a limit to it. Seraph was leagues above what she could handle.

Lyraen however had no intention of retreating, a gigantic snowflake forming at the tip of her spear.

The temperature dropped so much that the flaming blade of Vaella became icy and stopped itself from igniting.

Seraph could feel the cold air on his skin as it enveloped the area.

Then the snowflake turned into a white dot and fired at Seraph.

The dot was a sign of the mana being condensed to an extreme degree. Even if it was small, the power it held could potentially explode an entire mountain, however..

Seraph caught the dot with his bare hands and the entire area exploded. The air seemed to split apart around the area. However, the mountain was protected by Seraph's earlier technique.

But he himself wasn't visible to the two intruders anymore, due to being covered by a dust cloud.

"Old man! You overestimated yourself—" Vaella was about to call out Seraph however the cloud diminished and Seraph stood still without a scratch on him.

"Not bad child, your powers are equal to that of a pillar. However, there is a difference among us pillars as well." He chuckled a bit which was unusual for him, he genuinely was surprised at the display of strength Lyraen just did.

'What a shame though,' He sighed and looked up at them again.

Both floated still, their faces covered in fear.

Vaella tried to gather her flames however the icy air stopped her from doing so, her fingers just twitched as she tried to conjure her flames.

The aura that the condensed ice dot left behind was stopping her from summoning her flames.

"You damn idiot!" She cursed however Lyraen didn't even bat an eye. She couldn't. Not after what happened in front of her.

'Just how strong is he…is the difference between us this great..?' She thought whilst Vaella kept cursing at her without a stop.

"She's stronger than you, yet her technique was futile, do you think you could make a difference?" Seraph spoke up which made Vaella stop and she got even angrier and even more enraged.

"I enjoyed it however it's time to put an end to this." He said as his hair and entire body began to glow.

The air seemed to shatter in the entire area and space itself seemed to bend to his will and shadows started rising from around the mountain.

"Darkness Voyeur."
