Chapter 7 - Bunkers or bomb shelters

Rover saw an additional 30 million credit points appear in his account, and joy surged through him to the point he almost shouted out loud.

He immediately called Manager Billy, changing his order from 100 banquet tables to 500 banquet tables, spending 600,000 credit points in one go.

Fortunately, Manager Billy immediately adjusted the discount from 10 percent to 20 percent, so Rover only needed to pay around 480,000.

Saving that much money meant he could buy even more supplies.

Rover had originally planned to head to his next destination when suddenly a voice called out.

"Rover?! Why are you here?"

Rover turned around and saw a familiar face appear before him.

Brown wavy hair cascading loosely behind her, a voluptuous figure accentuated by a tight office dress. She possessed a beauty full of charm, soft yet captivating in every glance.

Standing at 172cm, her office dress reached mid-thigh, revealing long legs wrapped in alluring black stockings.

If Selvia carried the aura of a queen, the woman before him carried the gentle temperament of an older sister, even a mother figure.

She was Rosie, the Chief Accountant of the company, and one of Selvia's closest confidantes.

"Rosie?!" Rover nodded lightly, giving her a friendly yet not overly intimate smile. "I just came to withdraw some money."

"Withdraw money?" Rosie smiled warmly and said, "I heard you're on leave, correct?"

Rover nodded. "Something like that. I wanted to resign, but the Director said I could take leave anytime I want."

Hearing that, Rosie covered her mouth with a mysterious smile. The look she gave him made it seem like she had figured something out.

"It seems our Director has finally learned how to fall in love."

Hearing her cheerful tone, Rover immediately waved his hands. "No! Miss Rosie, saying things like that will get both me and the Director in trouble."

Rosie said nothing. She only gave him a knowing look, a smile that clearly said: "I understand... I understand everything."

Rover sighed. No matter how much he explained, Rosie probably would not believe him. It was like trying to wake someone who was pretending to be asleep.

Rosie suddenly leaned in closer and whispered, "Let me tell you a secret. Director Selvia is still a virgin."

Rover: "..."

Seeing Rover's slightly reddened face, Rosie chuckled softly, then continued, "If you ever need help with anything, just contact me. Enjoy your leave, Director's boyfriend."

She said that while slipping a business card into his hand, her fingertip lightly tapping the tip of his nose, carrying a faint seductive fragrance.

She gave him a gentle smile before walking into the bank.

Rover looked at the business card that contained all her information, still carrying her faint scent.

He sighed, slipped the card into his pocket, and walked outside.

Sitting in his car, Rover took out his notebook, intending to check today's schedule when suddenly...

"Ack!"

A sharp pain stabbed into his head, freezing his nerves as if they were turning to ice.

"AGH!!!" Rover jolted violently, eyes widening.

"Ha... ha... ha..." He gasped for breath, his face filled with shock and disbelief.

Rover lowered his head, seeing his hands trembling uncontrollably, his heart twisting with chaotic emotions.

"That thing... what on earth was that?" Rover muttered.

Just moments ago, in a single fleeting instant, it felt as though Rover had been pulled into a bizarre, unknown space, and there... he saw an eye.

Although he could not see the eye clearly or determine its shape, he could feel the terror and pressure it exuded, overwhelming his entire mind.

A horrifying fear surged through him.

It was not fear from sight or sensation.

It was a fear that came directly from the soul.

Yes, his very soul trembled.

Rover shook his head, trying to reassure himself. "Probably just a hallucination."

He exhaled deeply, forcing himself to calm down, then drove away to continue stocking up supplies.

...

"Karen, have you and Rover broken up?" A woman approached Karen, smiling as she spoke.

At the moment, Karen was irritated because she had to do Rover's workload, but she was also anxious about what happened last night. She did not understand why Rover had dinner with Selvia.

However, even if pigs learned to climb trees, she still would not believe that Selvia and Rover were dating.

Who was Selvia?

The CEO of a massive financial group, wealthy enough to live extravagantly for a lifetime without ever running out of money.

And Rover?

An orphan, with no future, no wealth, living like a stray dog.

Hearing the woman's question, Karen folded her arms and frowned. "I never had a romantic relationship with him. How can we break up?"

"Ah!" The woman laughed happily. "Then... can I flirt with him?"

Karen reacted as if she had just heard the most ridiculous joke of the year. She laughed mockingly.

"You? Hahaha... Selena, even if he is not my boyfriend, he is still my dog. I do not enjoy giving my dog to someone else."

Selena chuckled softly. "Karen, who are you trying to fool? Do you still think Rover is poor?"

Karen frowned, feeling something off. She immediately asked, "What do you mean?"

Selena shrugged with a playful smile. "Nothing. If he is not your boyfriend, then good. It is just that... who is the dog and who is the human is not for you to decide."

Karen's frown deepened, anger flashing in her eyes. "Say it! What did you find out?"

Selena simply gave her a mysterious smile and walked away.

Karen, like an enraged dog, instantly puffed up in fury, shouting, "Selena! What did you find out?!"

Selena left the room without paying her any attention.

At that moment, another woman, younger than Karen and considered her friend at the company, quickly approached her.

"Karen, calm down. I know what Selena meant." The girl quickly tried to reassure her.

Karen was like a madwoman, unable to distinguish friend from foe.

After what happened yesterday, not only did her boyfriend act annoyed with her, he even asked to break up.

Karen had lost her golden goose. Now, a raging fire was burning violently inside her.

She grabbed the girl's collar angrily, shouting, "Tell me what you know! Now!"

Her voice echoed throughout the office, drawing everyone's attention.

Under the strange gazes around her, she slowly calmed down and sat down, frowning. "Tell me. What happened?"

The girl leaned closer and whispered, "Karen, Selena has a friend who works at a major bank."

"What does that have to do with me or Rover?" Karen asked impatiently.

The girl bit her lip, then continued, "Today, that friend saw someone. It was Rover. He went to the bank to withdraw money. Do you know how much he withdrew?"

Karen frowned, thinking for a moment. "Did he withdraw his parents' insurance money?"

The girl shook her head, lowering her voice: "No. He came in with a check and redeemed 30 million."

"Only 30 million? That's nothing," Karen was sneering when suddenly her smile froze in place. "What... did you just say?!"

Karen shot up from her seat, staring at the girl in front of her as if she had just heard the most unbelievable thing in her life.

The girl flinched and stuttered, "Y... you didn't mishear. It was 30 million."

Karen's legs gave out, and she fell back into her chair. Her lips trembled. "Thirty million... that's thirty million... you... you're sure you didn't mishear?"

The girl quickly shook her head. "No! Karen, that's exactly why Selena came to talk to you. If Rover is not your boyfriend, she's absolutely going to snatch him away from you."

"Not just her. A lot of the girls in the company already found out and are trying to get close to Rover."

Karen widened her eyes in shock and immediately pulled out her phone, calling Rover.

[The number you have dialed is currently unreachable...]

"Damn it!" Karen roared impatiently. She glared at the girl beside her: "Give me your phone."

The girl already knew what Karen intended to do and quickly handed her the phone.

Karen snatched it, quickly dialing Rover's number and calling him.

...

Meanwhile, Rover was feeling quite cheerful.

He had just successfully placed an order for 300 servings of fast food. Naturally, he didn't skip anything on the menu.

Hamburgers, fried chicken, French fries, pizza, sausages, bread, sandwiches... anything on the menu, he chose it.

While he was on the way to the real estate company, his phone rang.

Rover frowned when he saw an unfamiliar number. After thinking for a moment, he picked up. "Who is this?"

"Rover! You..."

Beep! Beep! Beep!

The moment he heard Karen's voice, he immediately hung up and smirked: "Crazy woman."

Ring! Ring! Ring!

Rover frowned and hit "decline," then added the number to the block list.

Back at the company, Karen saw her call get instantly cut off. She tried calling again.

[The number you have dialed...]

BAM!

Karen furiously slammed the phone onto the floor.

The girl beside her jumped. "My phone!"

"Hm?!" Karen shot her a murderous glare, the blood vessels visible in her eyes. The girl immediately fell silent.

Karen's chest heaved violently, her face flushed red with rage, teeth clenched.

"Rover! You bastard! You hid it so damn well... thirty million... that thirty million should have been mine!"

The girl hugged her broken phone, tears welling up. "Ah! I'm still paying installments on this phone... huhuhu..."

Rover, of course, knew nothing of this and had no intention of caring.

He arrived at a major real estate company and entered. The staff here were extremely professional. Even though he wore cheap clothes, none of them showed disrespect.

Soon, a woman around thirty approached him. She had black hair, a mature and seductive charm, and a refined sense of grace.

Though she wore makeup, it was light and delicate. Her posture elegant, her waist slim, her long lashes curled beautifully, and her eyes carried a subtle, enticing smile.

She stepped toward him, bowed slightly, hands placed respectfully near her chest, and spoke with a clear and pleasant voice: "Hello sir, I'm Vivian, the manager here. How may I assist you?"

Rover looked at her and noticed that her gaze carried something similar to Karen's.

He inwardly chuckled. 'Interesting... this woman seems to be the same type as Karen. They're all the same kind.'

He immediately said, "Do you have any underground bunkers or bomb shelters?"

Vivian: "??!"
