Vivian had heard many strange requests before.
There was no shortage of clients demanding that a house's entrance must align with feng shui, or houses requiring hidden rooms to conceal lovers, money, and so on.
But this was the first time she had ever heard such a bizarre request.
She glanced at Rover. Although she tried to remain composed, a trace of displeasure flickered in her eyes.
'Is he here to cause trouble?' Vivian thought silently.
Business at the company had been unstable lately. It was common for competitors to send people pretending to be customers just to stir up trouble.
Because of that, Vivian, as the manager, had to personally step in and handle situations like this.
Her mind processed everything quickly before she asked, "May I know who you are..."
"Just call me Rover."
"Ah! Mr. Rover, you are looking for an underground bunker? We do not have such properties here." Vivian maintained a friendly smile, her tone still polite.
Hearing that, Rover felt a little disappointed. He nodded lightly. "I see. Sorry for bothering you."
He turned around and prepared to leave.
Seeing his reaction, Vivian concluded that he probably was not here to make trouble. She quickly called out, "Wait! Mr. Rover, while we do not have the exact type of property you are looking for, we do have several similar ones. Would you like to take a look first?"
Rover paused and smiled. "Good. Show me."
Vivian bowed slightly, signaling for him to follow her.
Both of them entered a small private room. Inside, only the two of them stood together, with the faint scent of soft, gentle perfume lingering in the air.
Rover had smelled this kind of perfume many times around the office; it was a trendy fragrance, but on the cheaper side.
And that was precisely what puzzled him.
Vivian was a manager at a major real estate center. She was also quite beautiful. Logically, she should be using high-end perfume.
While he was lost in thought, Rover suddenly jolted, then shook his head, silently scolding himself. 'What the hell am I thinking?'
Vivian could feel Rover's heated gaze. Her cheeks flushed slightly, though she remained calm. She was used to this kind of attention.
She brought out several folders and smiled. "Mr. Rover, although we do not have the bunker you want, I believe these properties might be somewhat similar. Please take a look."
Rover nodded lightly. But when he lifted his head, his gaze landed on something he should not have seen.
Vivian wore a professional office outfit, with a dress shirt under a black blazer.
However, her chest was so full that the gap between two buttons slightly parted. Through that narrow gap, Rover could clearly see part of her snow-white breasts held by a purple bra.
Vivian felt Rover's gaze. Her face slowly reddened further, but she pretended not to notice as she began introducing the properties in the folder.
Rover inwardly smirked in satisfaction.
They were both adults. He knew very well she was intentionally letting him see.
He listened to her explanation, but every now and then, his eyes slipped back toward that enticing gap, as if it were tempting him to commit a crime.
Vivian pressed her lips together, trying to remain calm as she continued presenting the documents.
After going through three sets of folders, Rover sighed inwardly. 'Looks like this place doesn't have what I need.'
He decided to listen a bit more before going to another real estate company. After all, this city had more than one. Still... he felt slightly disappointed.
"Mr. Rover, this is Sunset Mansion," Vivian continued. "This mansion covers an area of 550 square meters, with a usable floor area of around 3,000 square meters."
"Sunset Mansion is located on a mountainside. Beneath it is an extremely solid bedrock layer, already surveyed by top engineers. What is special is that under the mansion, there is a rather large tunnel system."
"A tunnel?!"
Hearing that, Rover immediately became alert, his gaze shifting away from the gap in Vivian's blouse to the photos on the table.
The pictures showed a mansion built in a blend of classical European and modern styles, luxurious and elegant, with a small lake and a fountain in the front yard.
Beside it was another photo, showing a heavy metal door.
"That is correct." Vivian noticed his rising interest and smiled. "The tunnel system is quite complex and very spacious. It seems the previous owner of this mansion was someone who used to be involved in warfare."
As soon as Rover saw it, he said, "This is it! Can I take a look at it?"
Vivian's smile brightened. "Of course. When would you like to go?"
"Right now!"
"Huh?!"
Seeing her confusion, Rover frowned. "What is wrong? Do you need to borrow the keys from the owner first?"
He knew the process very well.
Most properties were entrusted to the company by their owners, and the company handled the selling.
After expressing interest in viewing the property, they would need the owner's approval.
Vivian shook her head and smiled. "No! Actually, this is a property authorized by the government for our company to sell. You may view it anytime."
"But... Mr. Rover, do you not want to hear the price first?"
Rover suddenly became embarrassed. He had been so excited he forgot that part.
"Ah! Sorry, I forgot. So... how much is it?"
Vivian spoke softly. "6.5 million. If you pay in full, you get a 5 percent discount. You only need to pay around 6.2 million."
Rover was genuinely surprised. His own house, despite being only 62 square meters, cost over 1 million. Yet this mansion had more than 3,000 square meters of usable space and even had an underground tunnel.
How could it cost just over 6 million?
"Good! I can pay in full, but I need to see the mansion first." Rover smiled.
Vivian was truly shocked. She had not expected Rover to agree so readily.
She pursed her lips, wanting to say something, but held back. Finally, she asked, "You do not want to know why the mansion is so cheap?"
Rover shrugged lightly. "Honestly, I am curious. But regardless of the reason, I do not care."
"As long as the mansion meets my requirements, even if there is a ghost inside, I will still buy it."
Vivian was stunned, then quickly nodded. "Very well. I will bring the documents. Mr. Rover, please wait a moment."
...
Rover had thought his car was already old, but Vivian's car turned out to be even older.
She seemed to notice Rover's gaze, her face flushing slightly, but she pretended not to care.
After about 45 minutes of driving, they reached a large mansion on a mountain.
The road leading to the mansion seemed to have been built by the original owner. Although not yet deteriorated, it was heavily covered by vegetation, as if abandoned for a long time.
They arrived at the mansion at nearly 5 p.m.
Only then did Rover realize just how majestic the mansion was.
Vivian began explaining, "Mr. Rover, this mansion was built by top engineers of its time. The structure is incredibly sturdy, able to withstand category 17 storms, violent winds, and even magnitude 6 earthquakes."
"The garden may look messy now, but with a bit of cleaning by professionals, it will become neat and definitely a beautiful garden."
"At the back of the mansion, there is also a small stream. The water there is drinkable. The electrical, water, and gas systems are still functioning well, only needing minor maintenance."
Rover nodded slightly after hearing her explanation. He felt that this place truly met all of his requirements.
With its location, he would not need to worry about monsters climbing up from below, and even surviving humans would find it difficult to reach this height.
Moreover, from here, he could observe the entire city. Anyone approaching would be spotted long before they could reach him.
To be precise, this place was no different from a fortress: easy to defend and extremely difficult to attack.
Rover and Vivian approached the mansion's entrance.
Vivian inserted the key into the lock and tried to push the door open.
"Uhm!" Vivian pulled hard, but it seemed something was jammed behind the door, preventing it from opening.
She used all her strength, and then...
Crack!
"Ah!" Vivian stumbled backward as the door suddenly gave way. She thought she would fall, but Rover reacted quickly, wrapping an arm around her waist and pulling her into his embrace.
"Are you alright?" Rover asked softly.
Even through layers of clothing, he could feel her soft body, along with a faint, alluring fragrance.
It was not cheap perfume this time. It was her shampoo, mixed with her natural scent, blending together into a distinctive fragrance.
His hand rested around her waist, feeling how small yet firm and elastic it was, making him reluctant to let go.
Vivian trembled slightly. Her body resisted out of instinct, but she tried to stay composed and whispered, "Th... thank you, Mr. Rover."
Rover frowned inwardly: 'Strange. I thought she was another gold-digger like Karen, but her reaction is completely different.'
'So either... I misjudged her, or she's hiding it way too well.'
He helped Vivian stand properly, then released her.
Vivian quickly walked ahead of him, not wanting Rover to see her face, bright red from embarrassment.
Even so, the masculine scent on Rover still lingered at the tip of her nose, and the feeling of his large, warm hand around her waist made her heart race with lingering shyness.
Vivian wanted to resume explaining the mansion to dispel the awkward atmosphere, but Rover's voice interrupted.
"Where is the tunnel system you mentioned?"
Hearing that, she led him through the main hall, across the mansion, and toward the backyard.
Behind the mansion was a small courtyard, but what caught Rover's eye was a heavy metal door embedded directly into the mountainside.
Vivian began explaining, "Mr. Rover, that is the entrance to the tunnel system, but at the moment, I cannot open that door."
"What do you mean?!"
