He could hear several other footsteps and hush whispers down a semi dark hallway. He could see silhouette of people and they looked to be whispering.
He stepped into the hallway and walked towards them.
" Hello," he said the moment he reached behind them.
They jumped up scared and turned to look at him.
" You scared us dude," one said while the others looking at him ferociously.
" Have you heard a scream?" He asked not caring for their reactions.
" What screams?" They asked back looking confused.
" I was at the lobby when I heard the screams," he tried to explain.
" Hey look man, maybe you are hallucinating with all the apocalypse nonsense that is being preached," one of the guys said, he was shorter than the others and seemed to be the leader.
Then Shawn came to a realization they were probably trying to deny reality.
" Do you know where the other students are?" He asked instead.
" Ooh just go to the cafeteria, gym or office. They all went there after that weird announcement. And they actually believed it," he said sarcastically showing his phone to him messages from the school to head there for an assembly.
" Hey dude may be we should also go just to...." He didn't get to finish his work. A long arrow like spike with a hook at the end came from behind him and pierced through his stomach.
It pulled back retractingbut it removed all his intestines his intestines out from the back forming a long line of intestins as it uncoiled while being pulled away.
The guy didn't even have time to react . His blood spluttered on all of them and more flowed to the ground.
Shawn looked at the long line of intestins move as it disappeared into the dark hallway.
He smiled. Death hear I come. He thought with a small smile.
Maybe if he died now during the apocalypse and killed by one of the monsters he would die and doesn't have to go through this damn apocalypse.
Immortality, he didn't believe one bit that a normal human being couldn't die. He was going to prove to whoever made this apocalypse.
" Hey, what are you waiting for run," one of the guys shouted after seeing their friend die.
They all bolted sprinting back to the hallway Shawn came from. Another hook came from the darkness and pierced through the fastest. It went through his chest blood spluttering every and coating the walls of the hallway.
Everyone suddenly speed up skipping over the dying guy who tried to reach out to the others.
The needle started to pull him back dragging his barely struggling body leaving a large trail of blood.
Shawn stood there looking on as the string pulled both bodies and disappeared.
He followed it trying to find the source. He has though if he stood there the thing will pierce through him but it seemed to be catching the most active.
" So is this the low level creatures you were saying," he said outloud as a black screen appeared Infront of him.
( Yes) The system gave him that one answer.
He was surprised at that. This was a killing game , he thought seriously. If the weakest word were already this cruel and weird then what about the big bosses that were being restrained.
Something vibrated in his pocket. It was a phone. The phone has some blood in it since he had picked it up when it fell after the first guy was killed. It belonged to him.
He looked at the screen. A message was there probably sent by the government to all devices.
[GOVERNMENT EMERGENCY BROADCAST – VERIFIED]
Citizens, please remain calm.
Reports of "invasions," "monsters," and "dimensional interference" are exaggerated rumors.
There is no confirmed large-scale threat to the nation.
This is an expected anomaly, and there is no cause for concern.
The government has full control of the situation.
Military forces are stationed in every major region.
Communication glitches are being corrected.

1. Stay indoors for safety checks.
2. Ignore unverified videos of unusual creatures.

Shawn felt like laughing. At this time the government probably thought this was some sort of attack on them and they were too overconfident.
Or they were saving themselves before abandoning the people. He was pretty sure the " military" would be sent to pick the rich and maybe take them to safe places.
They would them leave others to save themselves while claiming they were losing a lot of people.
He felt Sorry for people but he wasn't a hero so they got to save themselves. He would be dead by the time people noticed the fucked up situation they were in.
He threw the phone away after reading.
He must have probably missed a lot of things while he was pretend dead. He wanted to see how people reacted on social media since that would always be the first place they run to. But he had jumped with his phone.
He threw everything out of his mind and continued walking the darkness following the wet blood trails. Surprisingly he could see in the dark .
Probably a perk from the system or he was just a special case.
He came to a stop Infront of a door. It had woven like black threads that were coiled around itself only a man tall hole was left probably torn apart by arrow.
He looked into the clearly dark hole filled with those those threads and stepped inside. He pushed the treads aside as he entered.
Sounds came from the whole places as though things were skittering around. From the outside the place looked at least scary but the insides were way worse.
He looked closely at the threads and came to a disturbing conclusion. This wasn't just normal thread it was a spider web. He had just entered a spider's nest.
And what seemed to be the building walls had hanging sticky black webs. They were so densely layered over each other that the wall had basically disappeared and a wall of webs had taken over.
Some hung disturbingly close to his face. He tried to touch the walls out of curiosity but the moment he touched it, it stuck to his hands. Unlike the webs on the outside, this one seemed to still be with a little moisture.
" This place stinks," Shawn said aloud while trying to detach from the sticky cobwebs.
The air was filled with the scent of decay and acid. Shawn covered his nose since the smell became too much just after a few minutes.
Then he saw it, something tiny dangling inches from his face as small as a grain of rice . It twitched then it's micro legs unfolded.
Then he noticed another one, then another. Millions of miniature spiders hung from the ceiling suspended on threads so fine he never noticed them .
The entire place wasn't decorated with webs but with billions of miniature spiders. The skittering noises he heard earlier was probably from them .
They didn't crawl towards him but merely hung like little ornaments on the bigger webs.
This was probably a breeding ground. If they got out they would overrun the whole campus.
Right now they were probably babies. He continued forward still following the already disappearing trail of blood. He could see some of the miniature spiders feeding on the blood remains. Before his eyes one of the little spiders increased in size by almost ten times.
It then started to eat the other little ones. He stepped on it killing it before it grows. He knew it was meaningless but at least he tried.
The moment it died the little spiders crawling around scattered instantly vanishing into the dense cluster of webs as though running from a predator. Shawn scoffed, he thought they would swarm him or something.
What Shawn didn't know was that the moment he killed the spider something inside the webs turned to look towards him. A low invisible vibration was released through the webs.
Deep inside at the heart of the web a cocoon hit the ground with a soft wet thud.
It then moved.
It was a mass the size of a person , wrapped tightly in black fibers. Something inside it twitched as though it was trying to push out. Indents appeared all over it trying to pass through. The thing looked like a something breaking out of an egg but with a soft shell .
A long hooked leg punched out of the cocoon,then another. The creature dragged itself out of the cocoon, the layers of the web sliding of it's body.
It's body was vaguely humanoid but horribly stretched. It had too long arms with it's fingers bent on the opposite side as though broken. It had mto the many joints that were bent the wrong way facing outward the place where the knee was was bent outward.
It's main body was just criminal. It had a way too long human torso as though two people torsos joined together. It was bent as though about to break into two.
At the rare a huge blobus round spider abdomen was held up with it's joints.
The head was the worst part.
