REVIEWS AND POWERSTONES PLSSS!!!!!Chapter 18: The Gravity Chamber
Ship Gravity Chamber.
Turles toured the gravity training facility while listening to Karl's introduction.
"Sir, through my team's efforts, the gravity chamber has been completed per your instructions. Having Frieza Force headquarters data let us finish ahead of schedule."
"The total area is approximately 500 square meters. Any larger would affect ship flight performance. As requested, we used the hardest available metals for construction. However, due to limited Katchin steel supplies, only the central 100 square meters uses true Katchin. Other sections use secondary Katchin alloy—still fully capable of withstanding your energy attacks!"
"Due to time constraints, maximum gravity currently reaches 30 times standard. Again, only the central 100 square meters can handle that. Outer areas max out at 15 times standard gravity!"
Karl reported the chamber's details thoroughly, then looked at Turles with some concern. He didn't know Turles's exact strength, but this gravity training concept seemed insane.
High-multiplier gravity differed completely from weighted clothing. Weight training only burdened muscles and bones. High gravity affected everything—blood flow, heartbeat, breathing, every bodily function. One mistake meant death with no time for rescue.
Having bet his people's future on Turles, Karl naturally hoped nothing would happen to him.
Having inspected the entire chamber, Turles nodded with satisfaction. Seeing Karl's worry, he smiled: "Don't worry, Karl. I understand the dangers better than anyone. I won't gamble with my life. Besides, you'll be monitoring me from outside, right?"
After reassuring Karl, Turles asked with some confusion: "From your description, it sounds like the two areas can operate separately?"
"Yes, sir!"
"Considering material shortages, we designed separate zones during construction. If you activate the central isolation panels, outer area gravity decreases. That's why the outer zone maxes at only 15 times."
Turles hadn't expected this design. Meaning when he trained, activating the barrier would let Raditz and Paragus train in the outer area simultaneously. Much more convenient.
Realizing this, Turles grew restless, wanting to immediately test gravity training effects.
"Karl, step outside. I'll test it first. Monitor from out there—if anything goes wrong, shut it down immediately. Understood?"
"Yes, sir!" Karl straightened, responding seriously before turning to leave.
Seeing the chamber door seal completely, Turles walked to the internal control panel. Three buttons: +, -, and a red emergency button. The digital display showed "1"—current ship gravity.
This 1x standard gravity equaled Earth's gravity. 30x would be thirty times Earth gravity. Compared to the 100x gravity on Goku's Namek-bound ship, it wasn't particularly high. But Turles didn't dare relax.
Goku had adapted to 100x gravity through just six days of extreme training—honestly somewhat absurd. Without Senzu Beans, Goku would have died countless times. Many speculated his later death from the heart virus had roots in this overtraining.
But current Turles didn't need to push himself that hard. Slow progression worked fine.
He pressed + once, increasing gravity by just one level to test.
Hum hum hum!
As the button activated, machinery engaged. Gravity immediately changed. When it fully reached 2x, the chamber air felt distinctly viscous.
Turles felt pressure affecting his entire body. Not just bones and muscles—even internal organs and blood became unusually heavy. His heart beat noticeably slower than normal.
He tried stepping forward. His foot felt incredibly heavy. Landing produced a dull thud. Then the other foot. Another thud.
Each step required far more effort than usual. But Turles's body could handle it. As he continued walking, he adapted increasingly.
He began slowly circling the chamber, dull thuds echoing rhythmically.
After one lap back to the starting point, Turles was slightly winded.
Indeed, the gravity chamber was a training multiplier. Just light exercise at 2x gravity exceeded an entire normal day's training effect.
Turles couldn't help laughing. He began jogging. Starting slow, he quickly adapted completely to 2x gravity, gradually accelerating. Eventually, his speed exceeded visual tracking.
Outside, Karl watched Turles move effortlessly through the chamber, jaw dropping and eyes nearly popping out.
Soon, Turles stopped, lowered gravity back to normal, and exited through the chamber door.
Approaching Karl, ignoring his stunned expression, Turles asked: "Any equipment issues?"
This concerned his life—Turles couldn't be too careful.
Karl recovered, responding even more respectfully than before: "Sir, equipment operated perfectly. After checking internal circuits, it'll be fully operational!"
"Excellent! Notify me when there are no issues." Turles nodded and left the training room.
'Now I have the gravity chamber. Next is power level growth. We're about to enter the Galactic Center. Future enemies will only get stronger. Twenty thousand battle power isn't nearly enough. I can't rely solely on Broly. Only my own strength is fundamental!'
Turles thought to himself.
Over the following days, Turles and Karl continuously tested the chamber's operation. Only after confirming everything functioned perfectly did gravity training truly begin.
One month later.
At 15x gravity, the chamber air felt even more oppressive. The entire environment appeared dark red.
Standing at the chamber's center, Turles spread his legs, lowered his center of gravity, stabilized in a horse stance. His wrists drew back to his waist in a lotus formation while concentrating his ki. He chanted in a low voice:
"KA-ME-HA-ME"
A blue-white energy sphere began forming in his palms. Reaching critical mass, he thrust both hands forward with a mighty shout:
"HA!"
The blue-white sphere shot from his hands, gradually transforming into a high-speed spiraling beam with a meteor-trail tail, streaking straight ahead.
Just before the energy wave struck the wall, Turles twisted his waist. Continuing to channel energy, he pulled with both hands. The beam changed direction at the last moment, circling the chamber before flying back toward him.
Watching the rapidly approaching energy wave, Turles raised both arms before him, every muscle tensing.
BOOM! The tremendous explosion shook the entire chamber. Thick smoke filled the air, completely obscuring Turles's figure.
"Cough, cough, cough!"
After a long moment, coughing echoed. A dark shadow appeared in the smoke. As it gradually cleared, Turles's form fully emerged.
He looked absolutely wretched. His bare torso was covered in purple-red bruises. Blood trickled from his mouth. Both arms hung limply. He swayed unsteadily.
Dragging his body toward the control panel, every step brought sharp pain. His mouth kept twitching.
Finally reaching the console, Turles strained to lift his right hand, dropping it like a weight onto the red emergency button.
As the button activated, red warning lights flashed. Chamber gravity began rapidly decreasing, quickly returning to 1x.
THUD!
Turles finally collapsed, body hitting the floor with a heavy impact.
Receiving the alert, Karl and his team immediately rushed into the chamber. Seeing the fallen Turles, they worked efficiently to administer emergency care, quickly transporting him to the healing tank.
As treatment fluid gradually filled the tank, Turles's heartbeat stabilized. The Kaburu medical staff finally relaxed completely.
Then a Kaburu approached Karl, reminding: "Karl, our healing fluid is running low. One more incident like this and we won't have enough for emergency reserves!"
"Hm?" Karl, who'd been watching Turles in the tank, turned around. Seeing his colleague's serious expression, he nodded: "I'll tell the boss."
The Kaburu nodded and returned to his station.
"Sigh..." Karl continued watching Turles, letting out a quiet sigh.
One day later, Turles woke from the healing tank. As the fluid drained, he stepped out naked, falling silent after hearing Karl's report.
After the silence, Turles asked: "How long until we reach our destination?"
"Sir, only three days to the next planet. Per your plan, we'll rest there for half a month before deciding the next destination." Karl reported honestly.
"Good! No more training these next three days. Shut down the gravity chamber. Divert all power to propulsion—full speed ahead!"
"Yes, sir!"
