Chapter 2 - First Impressions...Spilled

Sienna watched Noran slowly walk toward her. His eyes flicked to her for a moment before shifting to the coffee machine.

Sienna hoped he wouldn't have noticed her stupid mistake earlier. She wanted to introduce herself, but the embarrassment still clung to her.

He reached the coffee machine and, without a word, pressed a few buttons. The machine made a noise, then came to life. Coffee streamed out smoothly, the rich aroma filling the room.

Sienna stared at it like it held the meaning of existence.

Great. He pressed two buttons and it magically works. He must think I'm an idiot.

She could feel his gaze from the side and turned, still flustered.

"Thank you," she smiled.

"You're welcome… jagiya," he whispered the last part, a grin appearing on his lips.

Her cheeks burned, her heart skipping a beat. She looked at him.

What! Did he just…? What do I even say? Just stay calm and cool, Sienna. Pretend you didn't hear that.

Sienna mentally slapped herself.

Straightening, she cleared her throat. "Mr. Noran," she began, regaining her composure, "I'm Dr. Sienna Marie Ben. I'll be your private physician while Dr. Lee is away."

"New doctor?" His eyes widened slightly.

"Yes, that's right," she replied with a soft smile.

He blinked, still processing. Then he repeated, "Wait… you're my new doctor?"

He looked her over, surprised.

Huh… she definitely doesn't look like she's from around here. She probably still gets ID'd at movie theaters. And she's my new doctor… hmm.

He smiled, flashing deep dimples.

Huh! Dimples… didn't see that coming.

Sienna quickly pushed the thought aside and smiled back.

He extended his hand. She took it, noting how warm and large it was compared to hers. Their eyes lingered a second too long.

"I was actually waiting for you here… nice meeting you, doc," he said, still shaking her hand.

"And by the way…" he added, his voice turning teasing, "Do you call all your patients jagiya, or—?"

Sienna froze for a second, then yanked her hand back. "I—I said jogiyo!" she blurted.

He raised an eyebrow, smirk deepening. "Jogiyo? Hmm… must've heard it wrong, then."

Oh… now he's clearly making fun of me. And he seems to be enjoying it a bit too much.

Sienna huffed internally, then grabbed the coffee cup from the machine.

Right… time to distract myself from this awkward situation with coffee.

Noran tilted his head slightly, eyes glinting with amusement as he watched her trying hard to look serious and concentrate only on her drink.

Deciding to sit and regain control of the situation, Sienna tried to move toward the chair—only for the universe to strike again. Her pinky toe hit the corner of the coffee machine. The cup tipped, and she yelped, lunging to catch it mid-spill. Coffee splashed across her dress and dripped onto the floor with a faint splatter.

"Oh! I—I'm so sorry!" she squeaked.

The coffee gods are clearly messing with me today, she mumbled to herself.

Noran chuckled, looked around, and handed her a tissue.

"Here… looks like coffee has declared war on you," he said, smiling. Their fingers lightly brushed as she took it from him.

She whispered a quick thanks, dabbing at the stain while trying not to die of embarrassment.

Great first impression so far, Sienna. Truly iconic. Dr. Lee would surely pat you on the shoulder.

Sienna dabbed the last drop of coffee off her dress and sighed.

The door suddenly flung open. "Mr. Ryu, there you are—your manager is looking for you." A staff member rushed in. She froze, looking between Sienna, Noran, and the spilled coffee on the floor.

He casually nodded at her , then turned back to Sienna.

"It was… interesting meeting you, Dr.," Noran said with a smile.

"Interesting?" she asked, half suspicious, half embarrassed.

He chuckled. "Totally. I didn't get bored even for a second."

Then he took a step back, lifted two fingers in a playful little salute, and grinned.

"I'll see you later, doc."

Before she could reply, he was already walking out the door—leaving Sienna standing there, staring at him in disbelief.
