Chapter 26 - Chapter 26: By Any Means

Raiden sighed in frustration as he dashed back to his side, sitting alongside his teammates. "If I can get a clear shot and assistance, I can get their flag, Yuki and Cynil, you both provide cover and fire while distracting the other side with stray shots… stir up utter chaos. Gharma you decide if you wanna charge in with me, we head different directions but don't let them cut us off."

Matsumi dragged his feet back to his side, he was bored of this game. Not showcasing nearly the amount of energy or athleticism he had before. "Can we end this one already?"

"If we score again then it'll end and we'll win the event. Dodgeball would just be the icing on the cake. Hang in there Matsumi." Tengoku put his hand on his shoulder. Though he was furious with Matsumi's lack of participation or enthusiasm, he still understood the game and was apart of them scoring.

"Ok, sure."

Raiden turned to Kokkaku, he had a fire in his eyes as he did so. Typical of a boy like him in a story like this.

"I need you to provide a good enough support to stop anyone from charging the flag, it doesn't mean you have to directly fight everyone but pick shots and knock people away if possible. I'll try and have Kasaru assist when needed."

"Matsumi, Vermelha. I'll stop Raiden. I need you two to go directly after the flag, take it out immediately and get rid of his support." Tengoku had charged back with his own orders to his own soldiers.

"I'll do just that, prince. I'm getting sick of that girl." The entire time, Kokkaku had been at a stalemate with Vermelha, having to deal with her scorching and ripping apart his skin with her spell.

The whistle blew as Vermelha moved straight into Ashina territory, charging straight for the flag. Matsumi followed behind Vermelha, although much slower.

Raiden gave one last response before charging forward. "We need all the teamwork we can get." He swung his blade wildly firing off small blasts of the First Blood left and right at the approaching enemy team, he used the momentum to once again zig zag, purposefully putting out a strong defense to keep Yoshiwara at bay. Yuki toyed with her weapon before she flipped a small switch on the back of both of her pistols. She fired off shots at Vermelha and Matsumi, the shots were locking on heavy to the two as they tracked them down, destroying the area around them in the process, making it difficult to move. Vermelha sent her spiders out as they canceled out the blasts. She dashed around and protected Matsumi from the blasts as they kept heading toward the flag.

Shizukana needed a strategy, and for that matter a teammate other than Tengoku in order to pull off a 2-0 sweep. Raito pushed on a second offensive line with her, pushing the flag as the four charged into Ashina's enemy territory, aiming for the flag.

Yuki dashed towards Gharma's side while firing blasts at the enemy team, she charged up more shots and smacked the guns together, forming them into a small rail gun of her own making. She focused her mana into the guns power and blasted it at both sides.

Kokkaku stayed back near their flag, using the suggestion Raiden had told him. Ready to defend and knock anyone who were to get past the last defensive line. Matsumi stayed protected behind Vermelha until they would get just close enough.

Joseph stayed in his own defensive near the group, just to make sure no one would get the flag. Kokkaku received extra help when a shadow slithered up his leg and to his arm, providing an extra blade. "If we can get it tied as I said, I have the winning play in mind."

"Where do you think you're going?" Tengoku slammed his arms from behind straight into Raiden knocking him forward through the space, he moved to his front, spin kicking him in the face.

Vermelha moved around Raiden and Tengoku's encounter and Yuki's blasts, zipping around the area as quickly as she could. She was going to have to get rid of her if she wanted a decent chance at the flag. She moved and sent a fireball straight toward Yuki, which expanded and took the form of an eagle as it made the real noise, screeching. Typical of the spells in this world, to mimic the real world. It headed toward Yuki as it grew in size aiming to rip and burn her apart as Vermelha dashed around her, stepping around her and using her position to pivot reaching for the flag.

Cynil focused as she disappeared. She had taken from her father's genes. Not his Tokubetsu, but an adage to him. She moved and reached into a void and threw a chair in front of Vermelha before kicking it directly into her face, stopping her run as she ricocheted back from the force, her head slamming against the grass.

Raiden took the slam sending him forward but moved his right palm upwards to knock the kick upwards and away from him, he as well took after his own parents as he swung the blade across the grass causing a fissure of flames to rise from under Tengoku.

Tengoku forced his mana downwards before slamming his fist straight into him. Since Tengoku was small, even smaller than Raiden for that matter, he was anle to use the size advantage to his factor, and never to his enemy's. He jumped and used Raiden's chest as a stepping stool, jumping over him and attempting the same facade that had initially won them their first victory.

Yuki jumped upwards and aimed her rail gun to Matsumi shooting an exploding mana blast at his as she him flying back multiple yards away. Matsumi was sent back from the blast, rolling on the ground and coughing.

Raiden took the attack, his durability being put to the test with all the attacks to his head and neck throughout the course of the game. He twisted his hands and reached back as he grabbed onto Tengoku's arms taking Tengoku down with him. Using the roll and its momentum to swing his own knee into Tengoku's abdomen, pulling his arms out of the hold. He stood back up and swung his right foot to Tengoku's head quickly.

Raito and Shizukawa moved for Raiden immediately, both from behind and in front. They tag team slammed their elbows into his face and the back of his head, both colliding with his skull simultaneously. Another blow to add to the list.

Raito's aura grew a lime green as the two switched spots, performing the move again in the opposite position slamming their elbows once again into his front and back of his head, rattling him once more. The two switched positions again. Shizu tied ropes around Raiden, stopping him from moving or heading into any direction to dodge or fight back.

For a third time they slammed into Raiden, shaking him once again as the two had successfully used their teamwork to the upmost advantage. They dashed toward Yuki, aiming to hit her with the same combination. The only difference being the two switched in and out of position at a dangerous speed, so much so that it was hard for Yuki to aim down one of them and shoot.

Raiden fell backwards and onto the ground as his ears rang from the combo attack, he struggled within the ropes to free himself as he crawled and tasted tbe dirt. He clenched his fists and used his aura to attempt to escape the trap this one that was

wrapped around him, a safety feature of the aura based ability. The ropes surrounding himself were stretched and loosened. He breathed heavily as the combo had knocked the wind and possibly his brain out of his body, he took a few seconds to breathe, struggling in the earth beneath him.

Yuki's eyes widened to the twos sudden movements. She was next. "Shit!" She threw her gun around preparing to use it like a bat. Yuki swung the bat around quickly, maybe to deceive the other side.

Kasaru slid across the ground, slidekicking Raito to break his focus as his arm was engulfed in feathers, he used his forwards momentum to dash between Raito and Shizukawa, delivering a few clean slashes and chops before firing off his feathers in their direction. A tiny bit of blood started to drip from Kasarus mouth; he wasn't used to fighting this fiercely and it was taking its toll on his body.

"Shit."
