Chapter 12 - Bang Shame?

Message from

Bang Shame.

Please tell me you opened this, my girlfriend was messing with my account, and then boom she just vanished, tell me your location so we might meet up.

Like the idiot he is, he failed to tell me any vital inflammation, with the name I guess I should have guessed. But wait, he sent me this only a day ago, assuming he sent it as soon as he found out.

"This is important, Tickle, when did you get that message?"

He turns to me, his eyes sensing the seriousness of the situation. "Three and half weeks ago."

This world isn't moving at the same pace as the other world, like not even close. A minute or so in the outside world is a month in here. That means one day is five years here.

"Well fuck." I can't help but laugh. "Guess who is too smart for his own good?"

They all turn to me. "And the guild master speaks." Tickle smiles.

"The time difference between the outside world and Elith, is one day to five years."

Monster tilts his head. "That's really bad right? It would have been over fifty years already, all of our friends are already dead. That kinda lifts a burden off my chest."

"Monster." Harry smacks his own face. "It is the other way around."

"Oh." He playfully bonks the top of his head, sticking out his tongue. "That changes things."

"Does it?" I question. "We have no way out, and know of no future way out, so what would it matter? Plus I don't know about you guys, I would rather stay in this world."

Lilly smiles. "So would I."

Monster throws his hand into the air. "I would as well."

That just left Harry and Tickle as outcasts.

"I felt so dead in the other world." Monster continues. "Ironically, here, working in the smithy with the old man, I feel alive."

"On earth I was being dragged down by work." Lilly adds. "And yet here I can spend as much time as I want with my hubby."

"I don't know." Harry grabs his arm. "I will miss them." And yet there is determination in his eyes. "But if it was with you guys, I guess it wouldn't be too bad."

That left Tickle out. "If there is a way out, just know I will be taking it." Tickle grabs hold of my hand, giving it a shake.

And so, like this, the guild was officially refounded, and Roving Phoenix's shall begin their march. Or that would be cool as hell if I could say that.

Standing in line, I glance around at the dozens of people here, they were all around level one hundred, and yet only a few would be allowed to start a new guild. I suppose I could have just left it as a name, but that would feel a little weird.

"You see that." Someone whispers. "Why is the third strongest guild master here?"

Someone else whispers back. "Don't you see who she is with, that man is a living legend."

A player joins their conversation. "He ain't no legend, he's good old gramps." I am only twenty six, damn you.

Should I be surprised someone recognized me? No, it would be strange if they didn't, if you were any bit interested in L&L, you would do some research, and the top ten list would pop up. The ranks would change by the year, but one person would always stay the same, rank ten Loctrace the Brave. That is more of an insult than a complement, it means no matter my effort, I can never increase my rank. That's how I got my most hated insult, stagnant Loctrace. No one would dare use it nowadays, but in the guild wars, I would be insulted constantly. It grew so annoying I had to mute everyone but friends.

Unlike most long running games. Lance and Legends online, did not have a power creep, sure some update bosses were stronger than previous ones, but their loot was considered equivalently strong. So much so, it is what every reviewer would complement the game on, nothing feels useless, is the words they would say. It became a catch phrase in the community, so when you pick up a garbage item, you say nothing feels useless. That is before throwing it into the dust bin where it belongs.

I wonder if anyone still uses it in this world?

"Hey hey, buddy old pal." Vengeful Knight taps me on the shoulder.

Level 98, spirit beast, Vengeful Knight.

"Well hey, you level up fast." I give him a high five.

"Not as fast as you it seems, and your girl." He gives me a thumbs up.

Is it possible he doesn't know Sophia is an NPC?

"Your?" Sophia gapes. "Can I get your autograph?" She flings out a piece of paper.

"I didn't know I was so popular." He signs it with a smile.

Is he messing with me, or does he really not know. I mean what player would treat a level ninety eight with such amusement. "I would also like your autograph." I hand him a sword, causing him to raise an eyebrow. "Sign it."

"But I only have a pen?" He questions.

"I said, sign it." He takes it from my hand, slicing my head clean off, dipping his finger into my oozing blood he begins to sign the sword.

"Here." He hands it back to me.

"Thanks." I had already long since reattached my head.

Legendary item,

The beheader.

It is said this sword was used to behead a legendary vampire, and then signed upon it with its blood, the name of the victor.

Am I reading this right, did my stupid ass steel sword just become a legendary? Does it have any effects? I hand it to Sophia causing her to raise an eyebrow.

"You're lucky, I have only heard this happening a few times, when a weapon does what the world sees as a suitable feat, it becomes a legendary. If you want to know its abilities, you must take it to an appraiser."

How is him cutting off my head a feat? So many people have done that before, and their weapons didn't become legendries.

Siting in line for about an hour, we are finally allowed in.

There a surprisingly young girl sits behind the registration counter.

Level 70, Loner Lynx, Vestrial.

"Well if it isn't mister and misses vampire." She glances at both of us. "Didn't I already give you permission to form guilds?"

"That's the thing." I scratch my neck.

"Loctrace plans on reforming Roving Phoenix." The room falls silent with Sophia's words.

Vestrial just looks at both of us like this was some big joke. "If this isn't a joke, then I will have to be right back." She vanishes into moon lit mist.

I turn to Sophia. "Is it such a big deal?" For a second she just blinks at me, and then for another second, until I realized this was going to go on forever, so I clear my throat. "Sophia?"

She pokes my head, sticking her ear up to it before knocking. "Is it hollow in here? Perhaps you have amnesia?" She laughs at her own joke. "I can't believe you think reforming the strongest guild to ever exist is not noteworthy. When you were at the helm, there wasn't a single foe to great." Yeah yeah, I already did that spiel, skipping past that. "And that's why the king will need to be informed." Maybe I tuned out for too long, that last bit seemed important.

"I see." I wish I paid attention.

"And I am back." She reapers in her chair, doing a quick thumbs up before speaking. "You should be all set, I just have to cheek your association card."

My what? "I don't understand?"

She sighs. "Just hand me your damn card." Vestrial slowly grows annoyed at my inaction.

I glance at Sophia, but she just looks back at me like I am wasting her time. "What does it look like again?"

Sophia draws out a card from her inventory.

Association, Sophia

Rank 43

Ability to accept quests, open

Sophia comes from a long and relatively unknown clan of vampires, little is marked about her past, except for becoming the leader of Supreme, a guild she had founded. End of necessary notes.

Government issued, do not tamper, destroy, or sell for any reason. If you are found to be doing so, immediate fines will be issued.

"I don't have one?" I look from Sophia to Vestial, and back to Sophia.

"No card, no service." Vestial sighs.

"You wasted my time." Sophia drags me away by the ear.
