Chapter 4 - Chapter 4: My new friend

After that, the girl went straight home since she had to return. Besides the fact that it was very late, being alone on the street could have consequences, as the demons would realize she was still alive, and this would cause problems. They would try to eliminate her at all costs since she would be a problem for the fallen angels who wanted to reignite the war between the factions.

Once she arrived home, Angelica's parents asked her where she had been, but she told them she had activities at the new club she had joined and couldn't call them because her phone battery was dead. Her parents believed her since their daughter never lied to them. With that little incident, the girl went straight to take a shower, but she remembered what had happened that morning with Rias and pushed it aside since she knew she was in an ecchi anime and things like that were going to happen, and she was looking forward to sleeping since she had to talk to the dragon inside her.

Hours later

Angy:

I'd been waiting for this moment because I had to speak with the celestial dragon, better known as Draig. I had to prove to him that I would be a good wielder and that I would uphold his name. And as expected, when I fell asleep, I found myself in a vast place, and everything around me was covered in fire. So I just went in a little way, and there I saw his imposing silhouette.

Gathering my courage, I said, "I see you are Draig, also known as a celestial dragon. Let me introduce myself. I am your wielder, Angelica Hyoudou." I tried to be respectful to the dragon because I didn't know what might happen if I angered him, and I was just waiting for his response.

Draig:

He already knew his wielder wanted to speak with him. And for some strange reason, he couldn't see the girl's past or memories, and he wanted to ask her. Although he perhaps deduced that she had a strong mind and that no one could enter unless she wished it, he put that aside. Someone was standing before him, and it was his new wielder, so he simply bent down slightly to get a closer look.

"I see I finally know you, and it wasn't difficult to communicate with you. On the contrary, since you came to me, did you even know of my existence?" He had that doubt because no wielder had ever come on their own. He always communicated when his wielder reached a certain level of power.

Angy:

I was impressed seeing the celestial dragon in the anime; it was very different, but now, having it right in front of me, things were completely different. And I wasn't going to complain, since this new adventure I was embarking on in this world was fun. Although I would have preferred to be in the world of Dragon Ball, but I'll leave that to my own fantasies.

I just looked at the dragon and approached a little closer, pointing at it and saying, "Well, it was thanks to my beloved Rias Gremory that I learned about you, and you shouldn't be surprised, since I'll show you what I'm capable of, and you can rest assured. I'll make your name proud, and everyone will fear it, and no one will want to mess with you."

I had to lie about how I found out, since I wasn't going to tell her that I come from another world and that everything happening here is an anime, and I know how the story begins and progresses.

The two continued talking, as the dragon found his new wielder interesting, especially since she was very sociable and fun. He knew he could trust her and decided to tell her a little more about the underworld and that he expected a lot from her, since they would have to fight against Albion's wielder in the future. Angelica was determined to give it her all.

After that conversation, the girl woke up to her alarm and had to go to school to continue with her duties as a normal student, but on the way, she didn't notice and bumped into a girl she knew very well: Asia Argento.

Angy:

I knew I had to do the same as in the anime, otherwise I wouldn't meet the kind Asia girl. And now that I think about it, she really does look like an angel; she's very pretty, I won't deny that. I just hope I don't scare her and that we get along, since this girl is very kind to everyone and never wishes ill on her enemies.

"I'm sorry for not paying attention, and I'm sorry for causing you this trouble."

I just offered her my hand to help her up, and besides, I had to help her with the clothes that had fallen out of her suitcase.

Asia:

She had fallen, and when that happened, her suitcase opened, causing her clothes to spill out. But a girl in front of her offered her hand to help her up, and she readily accepted. Sole smiled and said, "Thank you so much, and please forgive me for walking so distracted. I don't know the area very well, and I got lost. I was trying to figure out how to get to a church."

The girl gave a small bow in apology, admitting that it was her fault and that's why the accident happened.

Angy:

Indeed, the girl is very kind, and even though I caused the accident, she's blaming herself. So I just put my hand on her shoulder and said, "Come on, don't worry, it's okay. And by the way, I can help you find that church since I live around here and I know where one is."

I was curious to know what it feels like to approach a place that belongs to angels. I know it will sound strange, but I've always been curious about some things, and I wasn't going to miss this opportunity. So I took Asia to the church, and just like in the anime, she was discriminated against for being a witch because of her healing powers.

Seeing how people looked down on her made me want to hit them because that's not how you treat someone who wants to help you. And that's why I wasn't going to let them hurt her. I was going to follow what happened in the anime and have Asia join the occult club.

Hours later

Angy:

Classes for the day had ended, and I felt somewhat satisfied since it had been quite tough. The teachers were really heavy on the assignments, and it was to be expected, given that it was a prestigious school. For now, I was heading straight to the Occult Research Club since I had to do my duties as a devil.

I suppose I can negotiate with Rias to avoid handing out paperwork and go directly to the clients.

— Maybe she won't even make me hand out papers, or if she does, I'll have to use my secret weapon: putting on a really sad face that will impress Rias and make her not hand out the pamphlets.

That's what I was going to do if she made me do that, but maybe the story will change a bit since I was supposed to be attacked again, but that didn't happen. I suppose the story will keep changing because I'm not Issei, and if that's the case, then I have to prepare myself.

Minutes later

The president of the occult club gave each of its members a job, and she also made an exception: Angelica. She would be attending to clients because she saw potential in her and was sure Angelica would be very good with the people who summoned her, due to her personality, and this would generate new contracts.

Rias:

All night she'd been debating whether to have Angy hand out flyers. She thought that if she did, she might be missing out on potential contracts, since these days many people weren't summoning them. If Angy went directly to the clients, they might get some new ones, as she was very lively and fun.

After these thoughts, she realized she should send her to the clients, so she approached her, gently stroking her cheek and saying, "Well, Angy, I have high hopes for you. I know you'll manage to get new contracts."

Angy:

Yes, fate is on my side, and I'm grateful I didn't end up handing out flyers like Issei. That means I'm stronger, and I'm not a pervert. Just saying that made me feel great. It's not that Issei was a bad protagonist, since he matures a lot in the later volumes of the light novel, but at the beginning, he's always a bit of a pervert.

— You'll see, President, that I'll manage to secure several contracts with the clients you send me, and I'll make the Gremory clan proud.

If Rias was going to indulge me, I had to make her understand that I would be someone important. But then I remembered that I shouldn't mention Asia, since she would scold me and forbid me from going near her. It was because she belongs to the church, and now that I think about it, that pain was temporary, and I must admit that I won't do any of that anymore because it really hurts.

The girl began working to bring more prestige to the Gremory clan, and as expected, she satisfied her clients. Angy was very attentive and tried to find solutions to their problems, and if it involved cosplay, she did it without hesitation, leaving clients fascinated by her hard work.

However, one request they made to the Gremory clan turned out to be a trap set by the fallen angels.

Freed:

He was punishing one of his followers for having summoned a demon, and this led him to eliminate the demon. But what he didn't expect was for a girl to appear from a magic seal. Without hesitation, he attacked, but the girl dodged and simply pointed her weapon at him, saying, "I see a filthy demon has come to fulfill a contract, but I regret to inform you that the person who hired you has been eliminated, and you will be next."

With that, he began to laugh and was ready to attack the girl.

Angy:

Every time I visited a client, I never let my guard down, because I knew that one of these times I'd end up at a house where the client had been killed. It was all because of Father Fred, and I had to be careful with him because he was dangerous. I knew that when I arrived, I'd be met with an attack. I had to put him in his place.

When I showed up there, he was so arrogant, and that's why I thought I'd kick his ass. But I knew Asia would come out to defend me too, and they'd try to hurt her. I wouldn't let them take her purity, so I had to act fast.

"I see you think you're so great, and let me tell you, I'm not easy to take down. Get ready, you damned old man."

So, I got into a fighting stance and summoned the gauntlet, and I was about to launch myself at him, but I think we talked too much, and Asia had time to appear. I saw her in the doorway, and she was terrified by what she was seeing. Who wouldn't be? Even I was scared by what I'd seen, but with my adrenaline pumping, I ignored everything around me. It was the first time I'd ever encountered anything like this, and seeing it in anime was very different from experiencing it in person.

Asia:

She was checking the upper floors and hadn't realized that the priest accompanying her was one of the fallen angels. They were just using her, but she heard voices downstairs and recognized one, so she decided to go down to the first floor to see who it was.

"Angelica, what are you doing here?"

But it didn't end there. She saw someone lying on the ground, surrounded by a pool of red blood. She knew it was blood, especially since it was there.

Angy:

Thanks to Asia's arrival, Father Freed was distracted by her, and I wasn't going to miss my chance, so I just ran towards him. I had already charged the Booster Gear. I punched him hard in the face, sending him reeling backward. I was amazed he was hurt. If this were real life, I wouldn't dream of hitting someone like that.

"Are you alright, Asia? Did that filthy man do anything to you?" I didn't know if anything unholy had happened to the nun, because if that had happened, I wouldn't forgive them.

But before I could say anything, a magic seal appeared in the middle of the room, and I knew who it was.

Rias:

She was worried about her pawn since she'd been informed that she could be in danger where she'd gone, and she didn't hesitate to bring the other members of the Gremory clan. She ordered Akeno to open a teleportation seal since she didn't want to waste any more time, and to her great surprise, she saw her next to a blonde girl.

Akeno looked seriously to the other side, seeing Father Freed. "I see we have someone here, and if you hurt my precious pawn, I won't forgive you."

Angy:

For some strange reason, my hands started trembling; it must have been because the adrenaline wore off. I was actually a little scared when I saw the red dye, but I ignored it because I wanted to protect Asia and not let her be humiliated like that, like what happened in the anime.

Before I could say anything, though, Koneko picked me up and took me to Rias, and before I could say anything, we were teleported to the Occult Research Club. I didn't even realize they were fighting the priest, probably because I was in shock from what I was seeing.

It was the first time Angy had gone through this, and she wasn't prepared. It was very different from when she'd gone after the first rogue demon, and all she remembered was Asia's smile and the last words she heard from her: "Don't worry about me, Angelica. It's better if you go with your friends."

Hearing the last word, "friends," made the nun sad, as she was afraid that her first friend in that city would hate her for being against the faction.

Rias:

I was upset that she'd fallen into a trap set by the fallen angels and wanted to eliminate the priest in front of her, but she couldn't because he managed to escape. Now, Angelica was standing before her, looking rather serious. She said, "I forbid you from seeing that nun, and don't think I'm happy with you. My family member is always watching over you and informed me that you met her and took her to the church. I expected you to tell me that, but you hid things, and I expect you won't lie to me about anything from now on."

Angy:

When I heard that, I really didn't expect it. In the anime, Rias didn't keep such a close eye on Issei, but things were different here, and that was strange. I didn't know what to explain, but I decided to leave it for later. All I did was bow as I said, "I'm sorry, President. I didn't want to hide the fact that I became friends with her since I knew you'd be upset."

After saying that, I just went home since Rias was surely furious that the fallen angels were in her territory. And I would try not to go through the same thing because if that happens to me when I have to eliminate someone, I'll be the one who suffers.
